I called him and set an appointment. It is pandemic time, how does he handle the situation? He wore a mask. He cleaned out the room after the previous customer. He sprayed the room with an air cleanser, then left the door open for few minutes. He then led me in. He handed me an eye shield to cover my eyes which effectively protected me from any possible droplet. He handed me hand sanitizer before I left. He assessed my hair first, then asked how I would like it cut. I showed him a photo. He got right to work. My eye shield fogged up, I could not see how my hair was cut. But I felt very much at ease. Not worried about my haircut at all. After a meticulous and masterful cut, he washed my hair with a gentle scalp massage and a neck massage. This is almost the best part of the experience. Them came the layer by layer blow dry and styling. My hair turned out exactly what I asked him for, only better. K is an experienced hairstylist. He is gentle and patient. He pays attention to detail and style. You also get great music ( jazz) to enjoy and relax. I left there with a great feeling and a better look. I am so glad I found my hairdresser. What shop have you ever been to that's always spotless and smell good at all times no matter how busy it is. Toni makes sure she takes pride in her brand and is a perfect example of her work! I'm not a hairstylist, but I do have curly hair and know that my curly hair will never be bone straight with a relaxer. A relaxer is made to straighten your hair, but a good stylist is able to keep your hair healthy by keeping the integrity of your texture, especially when you want to add color. That is one thing Toni and I have discussed when she has colored my hair in the past. Her motto is healthy hair first! She is not one of those stylist that will put chemicals in your hair without you understanding what comes with the process. I love how she has taken care of my scalp; which has allowed my hair to grow and it's the healthiest it has ever been. No more shedding! No more flakes! No more dead hair! I had spent a year growing my hair out and specifically asked for soft layers while keeping the length. Instead, there's barely any visible layering or shape at all. Friends and family genuinely keep asking if I even got a haircut. The attached photo is my hair five days later, and this was supposed to be the final result of a layered cut. I've now booked another haircut at a different salon because I still don't have the haircut I originally asked for. I completely understand subtle cuts and preserving length, but this did not feel like premium service or a professional result for the price point.
