It's not something he'd wear more than once, is it? The nice associate at Nordstrom told us about Via Roma that recently opened and he thought they might have tuxedos too. So off we went. First impression: oh boy. Sales associate at the counter was watching some video on his cellphone with the volume on really loud. Now that's what I call professionalism at its best! He soon realized we were 5 feet away from him looking at tuxedos. He came over and said, "Hey guys. If you buy 2 tuxedos, you get the second one free!" So I said, "We only need to buy one, can we have it at half price then?" He said, "Nah. That doesn't work that way." The price tag was $299. He looked at my husband and handed him a tuxedo jacket to try on. My husband put it on. I said, "Baby....why do you STILL have your sweater on? Take it off please." Sales associate then said to my husband, "Oh no...he looks alright. The jacket looks good on you. Keep the sweater on, man." ??? What the F@$#! So my husband said, "Nope. I gotta listen to my woman. She knows what's best for me." So he took his sweater off, and guess what folks? You guessed it! My husband was practically swimming in that tuxedo jacket! Same sales associate handed him a smaller size and this time it was just the right fit. But my husband and I exchanged this look & we just weren't feeling it with this particular associate. So I told him we wanted to check out other stores in the mall to see other options. So get this, are you ready for this one? He blurted out, "I'll give it to you for $159!" Have we been transported to Canal Street just then? So I couldn't help it and with a smirk on my face, I said, "Wait what? Five minutes ago you wouldn't give it to us for half the price, but NOW you can? Really? I don't get it. Umm....we're still going to check out Macy's and Lord & Taylor first. So we might come back later." Shaking our heads, we left. Buh bye. Despite the experience we had with this associate, I am still going to give them a 3-star, which is A-ok. There were 2 associates working that night and we might've just gotten a bad apple. This place seems alright for young men to shop, especially for prom season. They do have plenty of suits and tuxedos if you don't want to spend too much money. Remember, you need to make a great first impression during that job interview. So buy yourself a suit! We went in to get fitted- we probably picked the wrong day the staff was super busy because it was wedding season! (Late June I was there of 2022). We waited as the people ahead of us were taken care of then proceeded to be fitted. I will say right off the bat I have a weird body shape- no jacket seemed to fit right- again weird body shape McGee over here. One of the other tailors freed up and took us right on back to the fitting rooms. He had me sized up in no time and in a comfy suit then went to work on fitting my stepson. After a few minutes we were looking spiffy and comfortable. I watched as rack after rack of groomsmen tuxes were bagged up and labeled ready for pickup, the tailor joked with us both about how crazy busy it was as he fitted us and generally kept us at ease. Suits rented- money paid and off we went. Here's the nice part- the shop was nice enough to let us rent the suits about a week early and when went to return them the shop was closed as the team was off for the 4th of July (well deserved after the craziness I witnessed with the weddings lol). So I called their number and left a message asking what do as I was going on vacation. Maria called me back and told me to not to worry about it and bring the suits in when I got back- there would be no late charge. Good to her word we were not charged and it was an overall great interaction with the shop. They take cash, venmo, and credit- but there is an extra fee for the credit card processing- a sign on the counter states this as well. One downside is there is not seating area in the main shop to wait- but the shop is so full of suits, and tuxes it makes sense why it's not there. Other than that- thank you Russo's for your kindness and understanding throughout the process of rental and return!
