I just moved to San Francisco for the summer and was looking for a nail salon. I Stumbled upon Diane's nail care because it's literally a 30 second walk from my apartment. Sooo convenient. I was pleasantly greeted by the ladies, and they got me right in on a Saturday morning!! The salon is cute and comfortable. All of the ladies are so nice and sweet. I got the best mani/pedi I've had in YEARS. back in New York they always do my nails waaay too thick. I didn't even have the mention making them thinner when I came here! She knew exactly how to shape, file, and buff them. This is legitimately the first time in years that I'm super impressed and happy with my mani/pedi. Worth every penny and I can't wait to come back! read more

I called on a Sunday afternoon for a Monday morning appointment and they fit me in easily! $49 for a gel manicure removal + new gel manicure not including tip. Very wide selection of colors. I came in with a reference photo of how I wanted my nails to look and they spent 10 minutes patiently picking out colors with me to ensure I got exactly what I envisioned. The shop was clean and every staff member was so sweet - they even offered me tea! Will definitely be coming back! read more

I would actually give this a 3.5. I've come here off and on for about 8 years -- I like that they take walk-ins or make appointments, nails usually last, they do a nice job, and are not as expensive as other places. Had to rate them lower because I'm not sure what has been going on with their salon, but they charged me $100 for a gel mani-pedi, with an up charge for "multiple colors" which they didn't mention until I was paying (and I've never had that happen here or elsewhere), and rushed through the scrubbing/lotion part. I was a walk-in, but I came back at the time they requested and they didn't seem busier than usual. They also asked if I had been there before but seemed skeptical or confused when I said I had off and on for years (I used to live in the neighborhood)...so idk if they were just off with me because they thought I was new or what. I was quiet, didn't rush them or anything, and even showed them that I picked the colors to match a flower I'd seen nearby so I don't think I offended them...anyways, $100 (I tipped separately via Venmo, $100 was the charge on my card) for a 3-color gel mani-pedi that is already chipped a week later is disappointing when press-ons last two weeks and other salons even regular nail polish has lasted longer. I've always liked the vibe of this place and the customers, very chill and unpretentious, with usually great service and lasting nails. But waiting until I was paying to communicate it was an upcharge for multiple colors seems kinda shady so I'd still recommend it, just make an appointment and be proactive about communicating re pricing or what's included in a service. read more

such a sweet group of ladies who work here! i came in as a walk-in and luckily everyone was available to take us on. they had many colors to choose from, both regular and gel polish. i needed a gel manicure removal, new gel manicure, and asked for a french tip design. mine came out to about $60. my partner got just a gel manicure and it was about $40. im quite impressed with the prepping because they put a lot of detail and attentiveness to it. my cuticles were spotless, such beautiful work. i also liked how they gave me a hand massage at the end! hehe the prices are posted on the outside (i forgot to take a pic!) but i would say it's reasonable for the care they put into it. my nails seem to be holding up well so id recommend for any locals here! read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon for a walk-in gel manicure, and they were able to fit me in immediately! I was indecisive about what shade to go for, but they were patient and helped me figure out a color I liked. They were attentive to detail and efficient. All of their prices were reasonable without compromising quality, especially compared to other salons in SF. I'm usually hesitant to go for lighter pink shades since they can turn out patchy, but this was perfect. I am obsessed with the results! Will definitely be returning! read more

*First timer here* I wanted to get my nails done before EDC and decided to take a chance here. All I have to say is I should have came here a long time ago! They were able to take me in as a walk in :) I got a gel manicure. Cost was $38 (I don't get my nails done too often so I'm not sure if that's high, average, or low) but regardless, it was worth every cent! Got some nice green tea during my stay too! The attention to detail is superb and the hand massage at the end was amazing haha They have great selection of nail paint but I decided to get something a little holographic but natural for EDC. The pics I took don't give the nails justice! It's so pretty and reflective in person. Definitely coming back read more

Tracy texted me on 12/26 regarding my nails and said I could come in for a fixing, free of charge. She was able to get me in the next day at 12:30 luckily. We went back to doing dip and although that wasn't the most ideal for me, I was hesitant about cutting all my nails short and she noticed that so suggested dip again. She put tips on 3 on the broken ones and gave me a new set in a timely manner. I wasn't charged for the gel to dip change but I did tip (always tip!!). The best place I've been to in the city!! I used to get gel nails here (I do my own now, just because it's cheaper and easier on my schedule), and their gel nails are a reasonable price and always came out perfect. They also do good work with ingrown toenails (I get them pretty bad). The salon is nice and clean, and they have a good selection of polishes; I also appreciate that they tell you if something won't work. For example, I asked if they have chrome; they do, but my nail artist mentioned that she thought I might prefer a chrome-like topcoat, as the chrome powder tends to rub off easily (I went with the topcoat and loved it)! They also do simple nail art - I can't remember exactly how much it was, but I believe it was fairly cheap, which was nice! read more

I have no idea why I haven't updated this review to 5 stars sooner. Tracy and her wonderful team are always a marvel and a pleasure. I come by not only to get one of the best mani pedis in SF, but for some truly relaxing me time--get the extra 10-20 min massage! Always worth it. Water or tea (even mimosas sometimes) are offered. Recently I've tried out the gel powder nail extensions and they look absolutely marvellous. Really natural, easy, and extra stunning with a French tip (suggested by Tracy, since they're trending right now)--try it in a bold colour like red! (See my pics. They don't do it justice!) I went here yesterday with my friend and was so excited to get our nails done for the first time in months! I am Vietnamese and speak Vietnamese fluently and before I could introduce myself I heard these ladies saying the most horrible things about their other customers - calling them "old" and "fat" and "cheap" and plotting ways to overcharge certain customers who they thought were being difficult!! I stayed quiet to see if they would say anything about me (obvi) and out of the gate they talked shit about my tattoos, said I looked like a whore, said I was fat, talked poorly about my nails. I called them out eventually and they didn't talk for the remaining 30 min and tried to back pedal so hard. Most nail salons are Vietnamese owned and I've been to so many where the women are kind, patient, professional and supportive. This is NOT that kind of establishment and I don't feel great about seeing women tip other women who have been verbally abusing them throughout an experience that should be relaxing. If you *feel* like they're talking bad about you here - they are. And they will overcharge you every step of the way. I personally would pay a premium for a more welcoming and inclusive establishment. read more

1000x yes. This might be a top five pedicure for me. The art of amazing pedicure, at a clean salon, where I'm not rushed, and they do an absolutely incredible job is not lost. Chau spent a long time prepping my nails for my gel pedicure, even working carefully to remove a slightly ingrown nail. She was so meticulous and my nails are stunning. Tracy and her team always do an amazing job! They have a wonderful color selection and are always kind to offer you tea or water while getting your nails done. I always go for a gel manicure and regular pedicure and love how clean and neat their work is. They also have very reasonable prices for SF and are friendly and accommodating for appointments. I made an appointment same day as service, they fit me in and had excellent cleanliness and customer service. I usually only write reviews for nail salons bc that's a service I feel like needs a review. The gel process was great, and Tracy was very focused. It took a bit long, but it was worth it. Went in at 6pm and was done by 7, with design. I was able to pay via Venmo, and they have the safety glass up during your service. I will 100% be back for a pedicure. Very impressed read more

If only my nails actually didn't grow I wouldn't even need to come yet but that just goes to show how amazing and how much time Tracy spends on making sure your nails are perfect! It's been almost 3 weeks and my nails look brand new still since the last time I got my nails done by her but hey.. I guess it's just a girls routine to come every 2-3 weeks just to look good. I've been coming here for almost 3 years now and all the ladies are just amazing and super funny! They also will take care of you however they can... offer you some tea.. some treats and just making sure you're doing great! I think this is my second review for this nail salon but very much worth it! If you guys need some fabulous nails.. this is the place to go. I see the multitude of positive reviews here but had to add my experience because it was different. the ladies working there were very very nice - no complaints about that at all. however, I had acrylic nails done. the first few days were fine. then I noticed redness at the base which started peeling around the cuticle, became swollen, skin at base started peeling, and became painful to the touch. after a few days of it not improving. I started antibiotics which helped with pain but my nail ( after removing acrylics) had a yellow area and it looks like nail is coming off the nail bed. after doing some research and speaking with a physician, it looks like a fungal infection, which is likely due to instruments that were not cleaned well.So, my advice is to please check and ask how the equipment and tools are cleaned before you have a service done. My ongoing issue with my nail is concerning and inconvenient and may actually result in the entire nail coming off the nail bed to regrow. ugh. read more

I called a couple salons in the Lower Haight/NoPa area to see what the best mani/pedi deal was. Diane's had Mani/pedi for $36 total. I only got a pedi for $26-$28, so I definitely should have gone to get both! The offer beverages, the green tea is pure oriental green tea which was good. I think they have a policy for redoing nails if they chil because some customers came in to get their gel redone after it chipped. Good to know. I cannot say enough great things about this salon. The women who work here are wonderful, and they do a fantastic job! My friends and I love coming here to get our nails done together. I always leave with a perfect gel mani and pedi, which endure the abuse of my clumsiness over 2-3 weeks. My friends have gotten acrylics and dips done here too, and they look great and last. If you want your nails done well without paying an arm and a leg for it (which obviously we all want), you've got to pay Diane's a visit. read more

I can to the store around 5:30pm on a Sunday evening. I was the only customer there and the ladies did a wonderful and professional job. You could tell the really take pride in their work. Tracy did my mani (French gel) and Jen worked on my pedi (regular polish). They both did an excellent job. Tracy especially really took her time to get my nails PERFECT. Both ladies could have easily rushed to get me out of the establishment by 7pm close but no. They worked diligently to deliver an awesome product. I ultimately left at 7:45 or so but I'm extremely impressed by the kindness and professionalism displayed by this establishment. I am always pleased every time I get my nails done at Diane's. I'm always a little self-conscious about getting my nails done considering that they're nonexistent because I have a bad habit of biting them, but those feelings quickly turn into feelings of confidence after I leave with a job well done. When you walk into the shop you're immediately greeted with a warm welcome, followed by a variety of beverage choices. Tammy normally does my nails and she does not miss. First of all she is so sweet, we have always have the best conversations. Her attention to detail is unmatched, not to mention she's so fast! Been coming to Diane's for a couple years now and they always do an excellent job. They are meticulous and make sure your nails are perfect. Tracy is fantastic at powder nails and nail extensions. All of the other women working here are friendly and sweet and remember personal details we've chatted about and always ask about my kids etc... they are taking Covid precautions very seriously and have plexiglass installed, sanitizer everywhere and appropriate distancing between clients. However, my last visit left me a little disappointed because while it was extremely relaxing and the service was great, I'm not so happy with how my actual nails turned out :-( I did the Volcano Spa service for both my pedicure and manicure which were absolutely lovely, along with gel remove and gel on both my fingers and toes. The 10 minutes of massage for both were so nice, especially the shoulders and upper back that came with the manicure. But during the gel remove, the gel on my fingers was removed with the drill. It was the same on my toes but I don't have an issue there. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my natural fingernails were drilled down so thin that even though I cut my nails short, they're ripping at the ends with normal daily wear and tear. I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength. UPDATE 8/4 9:48PM: Another nail ripped pretty far down just from scratching my head :-(

A very tasteful, custom design for an 11 y.o. They lasted almost 4 weeks but finally time to take them off. We made an appt for 2:30 today and due to Jenny not getting the message we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. Not the biggest deal, really nice out and our favorite boba spot just a few blocks down Polk St. When we got back the other woman in the shop started taking off the gels, they were taking a while to saturate enough to fully remove so the cotton with acetone and foil had to stay on longer. My daughter's fingers started burning and when we let them know, Jenny prompted the other woman to take a look. Not ready yet so while the owner was finishing up with another client this other woman needed to take care of it. At one point a customer had to ask this other woman to help my daughter, that she would kindly wait. It took over an hour to remove and clean up her nails, no manicure after. Two hours later my daughter's poor fingers are still burning. Jenny was quite apologetic and adjusted the price as a courtesy. We love Jenny but maybe she needs some more support in her shop.

When I give 5 stars for store or restaurant. You really have to impress me. Diane nail really know women well, the crews here are really clean me up after a day a rough day at work. The plus here is the pedi's and mani's last forever here. At least a good month. Other salons just quickly get their job done and rush you out, what a waste of money. What I have to say is at Diane's Nail Care, they have a clean atmosphere and relaxing music they play, they fit me right in. The technicians are gentle. The massages of feet, hands that you receive are amazing as well, o.m.g is so relaxing. I've gotten waxing here as well. They can always fit you in if you forget to make reseervation, and you don't have to wait that long . Eyebrows, and bikini waxes. Bikini waxes are never fun, nor extremely comforting. But the young girl here do it quickly here. And it did not hurt at all. I also got my gelish color for my nails as well, and it is the best compare to other the salons I go to. I've taken all my friends here. Everyone loves Diane so much. In fact, one of my best friend referedr her whole family to Diane after the day I took her there :) Love this place ! I came right in here today because I had some free time to myself finally after a long week of hard working! I've actually been here a few times because I love the friendly staff and this place is CHEAP AND THEY DO A GREAT JOB! As I was saying, I waltzed in here and asked for a mani and pedi. I noticed quite a few changes. They now have spa chairs! But they did something else I thought was sort of odd which was adding a bag to the actual spa area. I asked them about it and they said they had to line it to ensure that it was clean every time a new customer uses it. As strange as it was I guess that made sense. Yay for sanitation? I also came right in time for a good deal! Apparently they have free eyebrow waxing and lip waxing until close to the end of May if you get a mani and pedi i believe? Not too sure on the details, but if you're in the area definitely ask about it. I am sure to be back to get my semi-monthly brow waxing since it's free for only a few more weeks! I'm new to the lower haight neighborhood and when I walked by to Diane's Nail care I decided to stop in to get my med / ped done. When I first walked in one of the staff there was greeting me with a big welcome. The outside of this place does not look very fancy, but when I go inside this place is extremely very clean. The music from the background sound very relaxing. I sat down for a few minutes and one of the staff got all her tools out and worked on my nails. I was amazed with all the tools they used here; they are all new and clean. After I got my nails done, I was very surprised when they offered me a free 10 minute massage. I felt so great after I visited this nail care, my fingers and toes were so clean. I fell in love with this place right away. Next time I will definitely come back for waxing because i know this folks here can do a quality works. This nail salon was moved from its previous location in the Mission District to the Lower Haight area which made it more accessible to me. I love their mani and pedi and now that they are closer, I can come here more often. I also had a chance to try out their waxing, and although it is cheaper, the job is done very well. I attempted to ask why their waxing was so cheap, and I think that they were trying to say it was their grand opening and so it was a way to attract more customers. Overall they did a wonderful job. The place itself is very cleanly and the people are still very nice. They work around your comfort area. I would definitely come back! read more

Disappointing Experience…read more I walked into the nail salon and asked if they had time for a pedicure. I was told, "Sure, absolutely." I then explained that I only needed help fixing one toenail from a previous pedicure and asked if they could take care of it. Immediately after I mentioned that it was just one toenail, I was told, "Oh no, we don't have time." This was confusing and disappointing, especially since I had just been told they had time for a full pedicure. The interaction left me feeling as though I was being turned away because I only needed one nail fixed and perhaps wasn't considered worth taking as a paying customer. It also made me question whether there was another reason I was treated differently. I can't say for certain what the reason was, but the change in response felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I hope the salon can be more consistent and respectful when communicating with customers, regardless of the service they are requesting.

My favorite nail tech is Bill but have gotten my nails done by others before and the quality is always on point. I usually go for the Gel X but they offer a variety of services. I always bring my friends here and everyone leaves happy and satisfied. The service here is always friendly and they offer refreshments with their services, usually water or tea. their prices are affordable and accessible depending on what you want done! definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Got a gel builder manicure today sat in the chair at 5:05 and nail tech was complete by 5:40... 35 minutes for a full gel builder manicure paying 70 dollars before tip.I asked multiple times to fix the shaping and overall the quality of the work was poor the gel itself is not even with bumps across the entire nail, none of my fingers are the same length and the shape is very sub par. I could tell they were in a rush to get to other clients so assuming that's why. But still you should not lower the quality of your service just to get more people in, I will happily come back another day to get my $70 worth...
