Just came back from getting a sub for dinner, noticed you have to order from the register now so apparently you cant see them making your sub. I walk up and notice everyone behind the counter talking and just hanging around. Someone walks over and takes my order. I ordered a "large seedless uncle Louie, with mayo, banana peppers. Lettuce, tomato, mustard, oil and pepper jack cheese. After it was made the manager I assume walked it over and said you are all set. I come home open the $18 sub and I received a large SEEDED sub with red peppers not banana, NO mustard NO Oil. The only things they got right was the meat cheese amd mayo. Now I know why they have barricades up so you cant check to make sure they are making it correctly. read more

Can't beat DiBella's for a sub. We went to the East Ave location (first time). We had to order right at the register that day, but they give you a number and actually bring your order out to you. I had the buffalo chicken sub. Very good and the everything roll.... Oh yum!! The medium sub is big. I got 2 meals out of it. We will be going back for sure. read more

DiBellas Subs has the worst, least reliable app of any food service institution that I have ever encountered. It's a tragedy because the food is very good. The service is reliable, and they are conveniently located throughout the city. Unfortunately, their app works about 50% of the time and they don't do anything to remedy the problem. I have given my final warning to the establishment I normally do business with. The next time their app doesn't work, I am taking my business permanently to a lesser establishment which is able to provide an app that functions. The fault lies with the company not with the individual branches. I have made numerous complaints directly to the corporate office. They are ignored. read more

Full disclosure, I didn't actually go to pick up our Dibella's takeout, but daaaaaang the ordering process and food that we devoured was awesome. We ordered online and opted to pick up at this the East Ave location. They are currently offering 50% off your first order when signing up for rewards, and then send you an offer for a free sub upon placing the order. Super great deals all around and a great way to ensure that we'll continue hitting up Dibella's again and again. The online ordering process couldn't have been easier and redeeming the rewards is fully explained via email. I went with a grilled turkey sub on everything bread and...woah. I don't think I'll ever order anything else. Turkey, lettuce, ranch, bbq, bacon, grilled mushrooms and grilled onions. Yowza. We went with mediums and had lunch for the next day which is the absolute best. They currently have turtle cookies on special and I am TELLING YOU - if you see the turtle cookie on the menu, just order it and don't look back. Caramel, chocolater, tear-inducing goodness. These subs really are so good. I know there are a few options for sammies in the area (Harry G's is my usual go-to and they are unfortunately closed during Covid-19) but I am so glad this virus had me back and realizing the glory that is DiBella's. Well, it's been a while since I last reviewed this location. Today I had the desire for one of their meatball subs, so I went inside to order one. Now, ever since covid, it seems that 90% of their business is online; there are only 4 people in the dining room total, nobody in line, yet 6 people are furiously making subs, cooking, wrapping, etc, and you get the feeling that having to serve an actual live person directly has become an imposition. First, this guy starts to take my order, some woman further down on the prep table yells for him, and he just turns and leaves, while I'm reciting my order! Then ANOTHER guy comes up and asks for my order; I mean, WTF is going on here??? I give him my order, a medium meatball sub with sweet peppers, making certain that he knows that also contains mozzarella and sauce ('cause, y'know, DiBella's hires a lot of brain-dead people...), he gives me my order number, and I sit down to wait. A few minutes later, my number is called, I get up, the girl at the counter hands it to me and says, "Have a nice day!". confused, I ask, "Are we square?", to which she says, "Yeah!", so I leave the store with my sub. Man, that was a $12.50 sub that she just gave to me for FREE!!!! Wow, I wonder how this place makes a profit with her manning the register? So, the food is pretty good, but the service is lousy, Still, if they're just GIVING the food away, I think I'll be coming here more often. Easily the best free sub I've had! read more

DiBella's has excellent subs, salads, sides, and service. Overall, it's a cool atmosphere -- I like the lights and tiles and the overall look. You can order online or in person for quick and easy pickup. They currently have limited seating due to social distancing restrictions. Here are some of my favorite subs on ANY bread because all of their bread options are awesome: BLT, turkey, spicy ham, the cowboy (grilled chicken, bacon, BBQ sauce), and the chicken bacon ranch. Today, I couldn't decide what to order so I asked the employee who was making my sub to just go for it and surprise me... then he proceeded to create one of the better subs I've had at DiBella's which is saying something since I haven't had one I didn't like. I ended up with a medium sub on everything including turkey AND spicy ham, peppers, onions, lettuce, American cheese, and mayo. (This sub was made by Eric. Great work, Eric.) I'm not sure what it is about their peppers but they're really good. And so is the bread -- you'll smell it all the way home. They have fountain soda here (wooo hooo! some DiBella's locations don't), amazing cookies - just go for the chocolate chip, and a variety of sides such as pasta salad, mac salad, and chips. Overall (1) it's super easy to order here, (2) the employees are nice, (3) the food is great, ESPECIALLY their sub rolls, and (4) the prices are a steal. This is waaay better quality than a big chain sub shop and their prices compete. read more

I like DiBellas subs and don't live near one so today I placed an online order. They sent back a confirmation with a 46 minute wait. The order was ready when I got there. I had to go through the front door and an employee took my name and got my order. I had paid online to no other contact was needed. My 4 is because it took way to long for 2 subs and I had wanted pickles on my tuna sub and there weren't any on the sub. It's a minor issue but still requires just a bit more attention. I also know when I've been inside other locations I never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes tops to have them start my order and maybe another 5 to get my sub and check out so 46 seemed too long. This is a must visit when I'm in Rochester. Seriously one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. Fresh is the key to the good quality of the sandwich. Bread is fresher than anywhere around. I get the Old Fashioned with turkey, ham and genoa salami. Toppings are light mayo, lettuce, onion, black olives and pickles. The largest size easily feeds two people so I am good with the 7". Lots of locations and lots of very fresh choices. read more

I arrived at the restaurant early, intending on waiting, but the manager let me in and said they were ready to take my order. I'm using a cane to get around due to a surgery, so I appreciated the gesture. I'm a finicky person when it comes to subs..nothing bothers me more than a sloppy sandwich. Oil spills on your shirt and it's game over. i instructed the sandwich maker that I wanted "mayo on the top slice, oil on the bottom, and so little of each you would expect a customer to complain." They nailed it. Thick layers of capicolla, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and peppers...pure heaven! And not a drop spilled on my shirt! DiBella's has my vote of confidence every time! We ordered 2 subs directly via their website. When we got the sandwiches home the order was TOTALLY fouled up. They were simple orders nothing extra or outlandish. Dibella's is not my top choice for subs. Their bread is too hard in my opinion, but I needed an easy dinner, and this was in the area. I had never been to this location before. One thing that I had not seen at another location yet is the pagers they have at the counter. You can order your food and go sit down, and come pick it up when it's ready. I was taking it to go, so I didn't use one, but I think it's a nice idea. I just get a veggie sub, which is another reason Dibella's isn't my favorite. The sub was $8.99, and I only get lettuce, tomato and cheese. I also get a side of honey mustard, which I do really like here, and their sides are a pretty good size. But their subs are expensive. I think the veggie is the cheapest one, and it's still pricey. Dibella's is pretty much the same across the board, and my visit here was uneventful, which is a good thing. I'd come again. read more

I'd go to this DiBella's more if parking was easier. Hands down one of my favorite spots for lunch. DiBella's subs are legendary... as a matter of fact, when my son went to school in Cleveland we'd travel out to one of the DiBella's in the 'burbs before chomping on a sub from one of the more conveniently located Jimmy Johns or Dave's Cosmic Subs. I would give no stars if I could. I was the only person in line , at least 8 people working behind the counter and one acknowledged me for at least 5 minutes. I got a nod from one of them, stood for another few minutes while he finished his conversation with his coworkers. Took my order and mumbled something and gave me a number. I cashed out and waited patiently for my second Sub. Half hour later I asked the girl to please check on my order. My hot sub was just sitting on the shelf. Forty five minutes from start to finish. Dibella's always used to be great when I was a kid, so I'm bummed to write this, but our experience tonight was awful. Walked in, order one simple sub, and waited 15 minutes with nothing. Then they inform us that they lost our order. Would have walked out but we had to pay in advance, so we continued to wait. It has been 20 minutes now for a sub and I still don't have it in my possession yet. Do yourself a favor and get a sub from Wegman's. read more

This is the absolute WORST sub I have ever had. There were literally just 2 pieces of meat on the sub. $8.00 for 2 pieces of meat---terrible. I ordered their oil, and hot peppers on the side. I was genuinely surprised with the meatball sub because usually you get really small meatballs that aren't filling, but this sandwich was the exception to that belief. It was AMAZING, I was so full from just half the sandwich alone that I could save the rest for another meal. The bread was soft, and the meatballs were generous. I stood there waiting to place my order for over 5 minutes and not one person working there even acknowledged me. Not one "Hello" or Hi, I'll be right with you"..... nothing. Well sometimes you decide to take a leap of faith, guided by the savory memories of subs of the past, and sometimes you end up ingesting wet lettuce with no dressing. Service was fantastic! If anyone could make me pay for some soppy foliage in a Tupperware container with a big ol smile on my face, it's the East Ave Dibellas staff. Metric ton of chicken offset the ratio of greens to meat and no croutons really rustled my Jimmies. Forced to scavenge my sisters fridge for expired Italian dressing, have you ever been forced to consider putting mayonnaise on your salad? All suggestions aside, finished the whole thing but wholeheartedly recommend you stick to their subs. read more

I have ordered twice from this location because it was a convenient stop on the way home from Pittsford, even though we live in Brighton and usually order from the Citigate store. My subs were made wrong both times I ordered from the East Ave location. When I called the first time, the manager promised to send out coupons to replace the subs we couldn't eat, but it is now weeks later and we never received them. I decided to give them another shot because it was convenient once again and they made one of the subs wrong, even after I was explicit going over it twice. I like DiBella's but would avoid this particular shop if possible. They don't pay attention and promise things they don't deliver! read more

We put an order in over an hour ago that was supposed to be ready 50 minutes ago and I am still waiting for it. Every single person that has come after us has come and gone with their food. We also asked what's going on about 15 minutes ago, and were told we are next (which has failed to be true). We had to ask AGAIN and it still took another 5-10 minutes to come out. We were told the grill was backed up, but people who had grilled orders and ordered after us received their food before us. Either their management needs to have more people working, or the employees working are completely incompetent. The manager knew we waited an hour for our food, and didn't offer anything. This is such a bummer to write because I've loved Dibellas for years, but we just ordered over the phone for pickup and arrived half an order later only to find our they lost our order.... even though I already paid over the phone. Then when I placed my order again in person, it took 35 mins for them to make it even though they were just 4 cold subs. Multiple people outside waiting had to send things back because parts of their orders were wrong or missing. Despite all this, normally i wouldn't write a bad review but just two weeks ago I ordered takeout from them and they completely messed up our order then too! I have ordered from the Jefferson Rd. location a few times and took home. It was incredible each time. Very disappointed in the East Ave location. When I got home there was no dressing for the salad. I drove back for my dressing. When we actually dug into the salad, there were no croutons, even though it was on the list. There were a few spinach leaves, and the rest was filled with the tough inner core of the lettuce that was white, hard and bitter. Will not go back to this location again. read more
