A great spot for a quick lunch or dinner! My favorite thing to get here is a gyro pita I love the stuff full of red pepper, hummus, cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives, pickles, tzatziki, and more! I also like to grab a bag of baked chips and a drink from the machine. This is truly the perfect quick spot for lunch as a college student. Yummy fresh Pita's! I have ordered from grub hub and been in the restaurant itself. There's not a lot of places to sit, and the tables were all dirty when I came at 1:45pm. I recommend an online order! I got the chicken Caesar small pita, no bacon! No issues with my special order. It was hot and the Caesar dressing was great! I was pleasantly surprised by Pita Pit. I was shopping in the plaza and saw a Beyond Meat sign on their door. I love Beyond so I decided I had to give it a try. There are so many options! I was excited by how interesting some of the wraps on the menu sounded. My first time here, I got a hummus wrap from the menu because I was feeling pretty basic. I added Beyond Meat crumbles to it; I was offered seasonings for it, but I wasn't feeling adventurous. I added hot sauce to the wrap. They also have falafels which I was considering. I was happy that there were different vegetarian options. The last time I was here, I did a create-your-own wrap and it was awesome! So many great veggies and toppings. Lots of sauce and seasoning options. I can't wait to try something different here! The food was very filling; I've shared a wrap with my husband previously. The interior is clean and more contemporary than I would have figured with their retro logo. It was brightly lit inside during the night. I hadn't been interested in trying out Pita Pit before this because their logo turned me off a bit. The service people were very nice. It's Subway-style ordering and it goes very quick. I have been going to pita pit for 20 years now since the first pita pit opened in Rochester NY. It's always been a go to restaurant where I could get food with consistently high quality. However that quality has recently taken a nose dive. While I used to be able to get a whole meal there, and a good one at that, those two things have now become the opposite. In my last visit I paid the same price that I always have to get a small low quality snack that wasn't even an appetizer and left me having to go somewhere else down the road to get a real meal, which is where I will be going instead from now on. I should have known something was up when I asked for red onions and the girl put a little cluster of about 5 or 6 onion pieces on in a little clump in the center. It was as if she was making a meal for a small child. I had ordered mine on a gluten free wrap which wasn't heated properly and started cracking and falling apart as they handled it. They then transferred it to a pita for me, but when I started eating it I found that my meat hadn't been cooked properly and was cold and hard because it was probably still partially frozen in the center. When I complained about this to the manager she blamed the fact that I had ordered it on a gluten free wrap and it had to be transferred, as if in that short moment my meat had went from being hot and cooked to cold and hard as if it was partially frozen in the center...I also told her about the portion size being half of what it used to and she gaslighted me and said it had always been that way, as if I hadn't actually been getting twice the portion size for almost 20 years, which is probably longer than she has actually been alive. It's very sad that this restaurant has gone from being the best fast food restaurant franchise (in fact the only fast food franchise where you can get healthy quality food for a good price), to a fast food cash cow where you can't even get a decent meal because they are now serving child size portions to adults and cannot even be bothered to fully cook the meat, don't know how to properly wrap, and worst of all are skimping heavily on their ingredients even though they don't cost much. The staff here is completely incompetent, even the manager who can't seem to manage the place as she is just a child herself who takes absolutely no responsibility for the restaurant she is managing and when I complained to her she denied my complaints were true and gave me the whole "I don't know what to tell you, it's always been this way", instead of doing what any other restaurant manager would do by taking responsibility for things having been done wrong and offering a solution. This has turned into another big evil fast food cash cow corporation that doesn't actually care about food quality or even its customers where its money is coming from, and management would rather stand by its practices of serving small portions of low quality food for the same price and lose customers, than do the right thing by them. read more

Well this was our first time eating at the Pita Pit and it went like this...First off plenty of free plaza parking and an open floor plan of sorts, nothing fancy...Next comes the food and folks it ain't cheap...The menu is limited enough and sometimes that's a good thing, it usually means fewer choices but better made, well usually...So I ordered a Gyro & chicken wrap and the wife a Gyro pita...So then comes the fixins station where you can pick the toppings, sort of Subway style...The person who made my wrap was like Nancy the new girl and she couldn't have done worse with boxing gloves on...So now onto the taste and in my wrap I found generic Gyro meat and a piece of Slovaki chicken piece the size of my little finger...Plenty of topping and like Subway more filler and much less protein...My wife's pita was much the same although she didn't have chicken on her order...The damage with a $2.00 tip, a small bag of chips and an iced tea was $37.00...Ouchie...Seriously it was just okay and nothing more...As always this was my 2 cents and you should go and make your own decision to how the food is... read more

I found the small fully adequate for lunch. Any pita can also be made into a salad. There is an impressive selection of meats and vegetarian fillings and an almost endless selection of additions consisting of sauces, vegetables, cheeses, and other tasty morsels to customize your sandwich. There is a free flow soda machine, and of course chips and cookies to round out your lunch. I enjoy it here because I can always find healthy options that are fast, affordable, and filling. I've been going to Pita Pits for years and always had good experiences, but last night I ordered delivery from this location and it took 2.5 hours to arrive at my house. When it did finally arrive, the food was cold. Not only that, but my pita barely had anything in it. When I called to complain I was told that the staff was doing their best to fill orders, but the owners of the restaurant refuse to appropriately schedule them and so they are very under staffed. Their delivery driver was still struggling to make deliveries after closing time. I can only assume the owners are trying to save money by short staffing the store and under filling the pitas. I can easily say that I will never go to this location again and you shouldn't either. There is no reason for the owners to disrespect their employees AND customers in this manner. read more

Went to go to Pita Pit at 7:08pm this evening, to find the door was locked but costumers were still inside having food made. Confused as to why it was locked, my daughter, husband and I tried to open the door again, no luck. We double checked the hours listed right next to the door which noted the time of hours were until 8pm today. Thankfully a friendly customer let us in to help us out. Upon entering we were greeted by an employee who noted that she had locked the door an hour early. As I inquired about the hours of business, she let me know that she was closing early due to being behind. She noted that we could stay since we were already inside, but her rude attitude noted different. My family and I decided to leave instead of continue to engage. On our way back to the car, we told 4 other carloads of people that they have locked their doors early due to being behind. We will not be returning to pita pit again. read more

It's tucked away in a strip mall and might not stand out as much as the nearby Moe's, Five Guys, or Burger King, but it's a good option if you are looking for a healthier lunch. Pita Pit is like the Subway of falafel for me. You go in, pick your stuff, get your stuff and go. For the speed, it's pretty tasty! I wouldn't say it's the best falafel in Rochester, but it works. You also get a lot of food stuffed in a pretty huge pita! The price is decent too. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because I wish they offered more authentic toppings, some spicy pickles, tahini, something to make it unique and less chainy. Also, the falafel isn't deep fried, so it's not very crispy.. plus it's all mushed together in the the pita anyway. Here's one thing I don't get with the making of the Pita. Why don't they put everything in a bowl and mix it up first? When I order a steak pita with cheese, mayo, mushrooms, peppers and sprouts (the sprouts make me feel like it's healthy, I don't even like them)...I want to bite into my steak pita and get a little of each of those fine ingredients.
