I have to agree with other reviews, there are sooooo many better deli/sub places in Wallingford. The bread was fresh but tasteless. My cowboy sub was ehhh. The chicken tasted like subway's. My boyfriends sandwich was HUGE but he said it was absolutely quantity over quality. They didn't give him the bread he ordered or the toppings on his sub that he had added on. All in all it was a very disappointing visit. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. read more

I'm giving DiBella's two stars. The workers that I encountered were very polite and friendly. That being said it's subpar at best. The bread was awesome but the sliced meat is below subway quality. I had a turkey sub and the meat was wet and slimy. I picked most of the meat off. The veggies they add are equal quality to subway. I've given them one try, but I won't make any effort to go back there. read more

I can't figure out why there are so many complaints about this place. My wife and I have been here over a dozen times now and it has always been a pleasant experience. We love it! The place is clean, friendly manager and employees, the bread is awesome, the meats are better than Subway and the medium (foot long) is the same price as Subway and you get a much superior (and heavier) sub. Dibella's, when compared to Subway is the 'better mouse trap' for sure. read more

I love their French Dip on an everything roll. OMG. Heaven. No frills, just meat and cheese and a great roll with a side of Au Jus. *faint* so good. Plus the place is pretty new and looks nice inside. I keep going back. read more

Went here for the first time and it wasn't bad but it wasn't that good.The bread was good and tasty but the turkey meat is a step up from subway (reminded me of the meat they use at the Blimpie sub shops). Kinda pricey though for the quality. I paid almost $10 for a small sub, chips and cookie (no drink). read more

First time...I am thinking they just way over baked the bread. It was difficult to eat and really hard. The meat was good although because the bread was so hard it slid off the bread. Because you can't see them make the sandwich it is hard to ask for more vegetable toppings. There were a lot of staff around yet they seemed a bit confused. If I go again and it is better I will update my review...not sure it will be anytime soon read more

I'd much rather go to subway. The sub is mediocre at BEST, it really has no appeal to it at all. The sub lacks flavor, I'm guessing they have the counters hidden for a reason. I caught a glimpse of the girl making my sub and the turkey came out of a bag, it wasn't even stacked as it should be. But then again, the turkey was very watery. Service was also very bad, stood there for about 5 minutes before someone even came over- mind you it wasn't even busy when I went in. The girl was very rude, if I wasn't such a nice person I would leave my sub there and take my money elsewhere. All around bad. read more

Excellent customer service. Manager was very nice and helped me with my issues. Grub hub messed up my delivery and wouldn't give me a full refund so i called the restaurant and they were nothing but helpful. The manager gave me my order for free and personally got one of his employees to deliver it to me. 10/10 would order from here again. read more

The subs at Di Bella's are the best! We were so happy that they opened a location in Wallingford CT! We first had Di Bella's in Rochester, NY and were so happy that they came East. The bread is always fresh, and now you have choices! (They make it several times a day.) There is also a lot of meat in the subs! It's always fresh! The sub choices are endless...my two favorites are the "Godfather" and the "Dagwood". Give them a try....you won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped in for lunch today. Ordered the Dibella's dip. Staff was friendly enough, but the food was rather plain. Their bread has a weird bagel-like quality to it. The outside of the bread is a little tough and the au juis didn't really soak into it. Prices are a little steep for what you get. Not bad, but not a place I would seek out. read more

My husband and I have gotten DiBellas subs a few times. We had two bad experiences there out of 4 or 5 visits. The first one was when we ordered meatball grinders. They had one meatball. It was a Friday night and there were no other customers. Why would they not be prepared for customers on a Friday night? We waited quite a long time. My husband went to DiBellas for grinders last night; he spent $40 on three grinders. When checking out, the cashier (guy) asked my husband if he wanted a bag, my husband said "yes" and he threw the bag at my husband. This place is not the only show in town. Personally, I'm not thrilled with them. If you want a better grinder for a better price, go to Joey Garlic's on the Berlin Turnpike. read more

I've been wanting to write this review for a long time, and here it goes. Though I am now vegan, a little over a year ago my dad and I had a long day working together and got really excited on our way home from work to see a DiBellas. We walked in only to find out it wasn't open to the public yet and they were doing employee training. As we went to turn around, the manager asked if we would be open to free subs and testing out the employees as a trial run then leaving out honest feedback. Of course! Well, we did and that was the last time I ate out with my dad, just me and my big guy. He passed away a few months later tragically. The memory of this special place always makes me think of him and that happy day for us. It's been 1 year since he passed and I'll always remember the kindness and excitement this place brought us on that long day after working. It was a pleasant surprise. Thank you, again. read more

First off, let me just say, the grinder was pretty good. However, I've had better. When we came in, we stood in line, where there were about 6 people ahead of us and maybe 3 seats full in the dining area, so it wasn't that busy. There were probably about 6-8 workers behind the counter. We ended up with a redhead with glasses who was slower than my 80 year old grandmother. When all of the customers in front of us were served, there were other workers who offered assistance and we tried to give them the rest of our order, but slowpoke was insistent that she was taking care of us. It was annoying and aggravating. We just wanted 3 grinders and it took 25 minutes! Unacceptable! They seemed extremely unorganized and you would think for a chain, they would of had that under control. Another issue I had was that they don't even have pepperoni. You run a sandwich shop and you don't have pepperoni for your subs? Let's just say, after the experience and the ridiculous prices of over $30 for 3 subs, it is not worth it and we will not be back! read more

This was my first time today and the last. I ordered the Roast Beef Au Jus and wanted to take it home. The girl put the roast beef on the roll and the au jus in a cup. When I came home, I looked at the Roast Beef and it had a green sheen to it. Gross. I threw out the meat. We called the restaurant and the manager said the meat was delivered daily. My husband had the steak sandwich and it was mostly bread, not a lot of meat. Vinny's Deli is so much better. read more

Second time here, still unsure how to order. Meatballs were hard and dry like they have been sitting all day. Also ordered an Italian combo. Thought it came with lettuce and tomatoe ect. girl never asked me do you want anything on it just put the meat and cheese in and gave it to me I was not aware until I got home.
