My family decided to visit Dickies in my hometown CORSICANA where I grew up. We ordered three sandwich combos (mini buns and mini chicken) and a loaded baker for a total of $52.48. I didn't mind paying the price. The point is As a paying customer, I felt both frustrated and upset to find that we were charged for every pickle, sauce, cheese, etc. Moreover, the staff member measured the meat twice on the scale, which felt like an attempt to shortchange me. Charged me for three brisket combos when I only at 12.99 & two chicken combos. He claimed that if he didn't measure, he would incur a loss. My grandson and I ordered online. The food was disgusting!!! The baked potato was old and brown. The sliced beef on the potato and the sandwich was tough, the fries was soggy, loaded potatoes was cold mashed potatoes and the tea may has been water. I called the store and offered to bring the trash back and to refund the money. I was told I'll have to contact the manager the following day. There were NO ONE else at the restaurant so it wasn't an excuse of being busy. After reading the reviews, I see apologies from the owner and no resolution to the issues in poor food quality at expensive prices. First and last time visiting this place. This Dickey's did such a great job on a big catering for me! We thought it was for 75 people and then had to add another 50 people a couple days before the event. If I could leave 0 stars I would. We came an hour and a half before closing and they were out of so much. Honestly they should have just closed for the night and started again tomorrow. The brisket had more fat than anything The sausage was shriveled up and the turkey was so dry it was flakey. There was no sweet tea. It is good food and $13.75 is not bad for a 3 meat meal. I had the brisket (2x l love brisket) and the pulled pork. The brisket was cut when we ordered and the pulled pork was in a bag. It had been pulled earlier and instead of letting it dry out, they stored it so it wouldn't. It was just as tasty as the brisket. My wife also had the honey ham and the spicy cheddar sausage. She liked them all and would go to Dickey's again. We both had the baked potato casserole (very good), I had the original potato salad (which was very tasty and had a unique texture). How does this place stay open? The burnt pork ends were so burnt and dry and drowned in a nasty overly sweet sauce - inedible! The brisket sandwich would have been ok if the meat was smoked, both meats were retrieved from bags and none of it tasted smoked. The potato casserole was bland. The Cole slaw was just ok. My wife ordered for delivery online. Once an hour passed and no one showed up I called to see where the issue was. I was told they thought it was for pick up and misread that it was delivery. I asked for a refund and was told no problem. The next day I checked my account and found my money had no been refunded. I called and spoke to a manager and was told I may have to go online and do the refund my self. Ridiculous. Through out the whole conversation she never apologized for the inconvenience and seemed annoyed. New management is bad and the kid who works there is unprofessional and seems to now know his job. The rib bones splintered off in my mouth and I bit into a metal bristle while chewing on the dried out meat. The brisket was equally as dry and the pork was yesterdays pork. Free Ice Cream what you do is take your coke cup and fill it with ice cream that is how your going to get your moneys worth. How to make a root beer float. Take your drink cup fill it with rooter and then fill it with ice cream amazing. Get as much mac and cheese and potato's the first time because the side are as much as you want only as you are going through the line. We were in town for a family funeral and last minute decided to offer lunch to all attendees. I spoke with Chris (manager) the morning of the funeral, warning him there may be over 20 people coming in a few hours. We ended up with almost 40 people in our party. Chris and crew were not only prepared, they quickly moved everyone through the line efficiently and had plenty of food for us along with regular patrons-- no wait. The food was delicious with quality cuts. The new management (Chris) has obviously turned the place around since the prior, not so positive, reviews below. I highly recommend trying this spot. I'm so angry. I paid a good amount of money to have them cater my lunch at a Dr. Office. I was told they would call me to confirm in the morning, no call & I called them to make sure and also reminded them it needed to be there and set up by 11:45. I show up to the office at 11:30 to set up and they didn't even show up until 11:48!!! What part of I need it delivered and set up by 11:45 is so difficult to understand?
