    a tray of food

This was some of the most delicious BBQ we've every had. We cannot stop talking about it! Initially pulling up to the food truck & eatery we had our reservations. Immediately upon getting out of the car we knew we were at the right place. We had the smoked chicken plate with coleslaw and baked beans (pictured) and the pulled pork plate with potato salad and coleslaw. After having an extensive conversation with the owner, she shared her son developed the spice rub, the BBQ sauce is an old family recipe and all the sides are homemade. If they could ship smoked meat across the country - we would buy it!

You're in Texas, middle of nowhere Texas, what do you do? Stop at the first food truck/smoker you can and get BBQ. I went sausage, and of course brisket. Wolfing it down in my car, in the parking lot, listening to LCD Soundsystem was probably a first for their clientele. The sausage left something to be desired and left me wishing I had gone pork or chicken. It was a bit dry and lacked the robust moist flavor that a well smoked sausage should. The brisket was on the other bud was very good. Good cuts w/ a nice fatty strip to enhance the flavor were served warm and heartily. A BBQ sauce is served w/ your meal that is more tangy than hot, and adds an extra richness to the brisket in addition to your traditional Texas smoked brisket flavor, don't shy away from the red sauce in the ramekin. The beans are sweet, probably laced w/ brown sugar, but served hot and are a necessary addition to any gas station BBQ. The quality is higher than the price, and the price is right, if you're passing through , it's worth the stop.

    BBQ baked potatoe

This was my first time to Smokin' Guns and i will be back for more. I had a loaded baked potato. It was over flowing with butter, sour cream, cheese, brisket and BBQ sauce. It weighed at least 2 lbs. It was excellent! I could only eat half of it. I can't wait to go back and try their other food.

Just my taste, but prefer pork and sauce that comes with it to the brisket, which is not real tender. Generous size sandwiches.

There's a small building which houses the kitchen and where you place your order. The menu is written on several chalkboards. There's a larger metal barn with wooden picnic tables where you can eat, very Texas. It's a bare-bones choke-and-puke in an open field between Mildred and Corsicana where the family can eat if Mama don't feel like cookin', or if you want to grab some grub when driving between Palestine (or Beaumont) and I-45. The menu is surprisingly large. Sandwiches, burgers (including build your own), fish, a kid's menu, and sides that go far beyond fries (includes onion rings, coleslaw, chili). Cokes are in 32oz styrofoam glasses. They sell quarter-pound burgers, and you can pay extra to put another patty on it. That's what I did for my Christmas present (I buy myself a cheeseburger for Christmas). I ate it a few days later, so it wasn't as fresh as it could have been. But it was *big,* well cooked, and just the right amount of condiments. If I ate it on the premises, I think it would have tasted muy bueno. Tucker Town is worth the drive off the freeway, and it's much better than those franchised fast food joints. The Tuckers would love you to give them the business. And happy new year.

I was genuinely hoping to have a great experience and leave a positive review, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The chicken wings were overcooked, dry, tough, and lacked seasoning. The catfish appeared to be poor quality, with a fishy taste and more fatty pieces than actual fish. The fries were dry, overcooked, and not served hot. The coleslaw looked watery and mushy, so I chose not to eat it. Even the slice of bread included with the meal was hard and stale. I also tried the egg rolls, but for the price, I did not feel they were worth it and found them lacking in flavor. Overall, the food seemed overly greasy, and the grease itself tasted old, which affected the taste of everything. Considering the quality of the food, I do not feel the meal was worth the $40 price tag. I always try to support Black-owned businesses and truly wanted to enjoy this experience, but based on the food and value received, I would not return. I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism and used to improve the overall quality and consistency of the food.
