If I could give this 0 stars I would. Dirtiest restaurant I've ever seen.. old bbq sauce on the walls, food chunks everywhere, ceiling leaks were all over, workers were insanely out of it(they were high is what it looked/seemed like)--took them 30 minutes to make 4 sandwiches with the sides & ALL OUR FOOD WAS COLD. The workers were so out of it that they charged us $8.00 for about $60 worth of food. There was 2 door dash people there that arrived just after we did and they were still waiting for their food after we sat down, ate, and then left. A customer gave one of the workers a pack of cigarettes while he was making the food. All the tables were dirty with food and the floor was really slippery. Looked like the place hadn't been cleaned in weeks. It was so bad we were scared to eat our food. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

I'm not saying it's the best barbecue, but it is the best chain restaurant barbecue. If you like barbecue that you have to get all the flavor out of the house sauce, go somewhere else. The meat is still moist with an awesome flavor. The sauce is good too but it is not needed. read more

0 stars if it was possible. Ordered online for the family. Showed up after the 30 promised time. Order not ready. Asked me what I ordered. Said they never got the order. Was told I could not get a refund. Manager was rude and inept. Miraculously the manager shows up with the order that they claimed to have never received. After all that, still got the order wrong. Family of the staff using the restaurant as they would their own living room. Teenage waitress laughing at the entire situation. Impressive stuff...STAY AWAY... read more

Returning home from Colorado we stopped overnight in Liberty, Missouri. Didn't really know what we wanted to eat, but knew it wasn't pizza. We chose Dickey's and were not disappointed. We chose the chicken, pulled pork and brisket!!! It was all amazing and the order wasn't ready when we showed up, they gave up complimentary drinks in the Dickey's cup while waiting. We will make it a point to visit this outstanding place again!! read more

Last night I went to Dickey's for take-out. First Texas BBQ is different than KC BBQ so don't go expecting to find the BBQ that KC is famous for. I ordered a two meat plate, and a one meat plate. I went inside to order even though they have a drive-through. Service was slow; several orders were backed-up. My primary complaint is that at 6:30 on Friday night they were out of menu items. They had enough turkey for one plate. No cornbread muffins (a special item), and no rolls. The server fixed and added Texas toast to our orders; it was greasy and tasteless. We've gone to Dickeys in other cities, and this location does not represent the best of what it can be. read more

Portions are tiny. I got the 3 meat meal so that I could have leftovers. I had to go back to see if they gave me the wrong order because mine looked like a skimpy 2 meat meal. The food was okay, but not good enough to justify the price. The service was okay, but the cashier seemed perpetually confused. I won't go back and will advise my friends to avoid it. read more

Not very much bang for your buck. By KC standards the BBQ was average at best. The most disappointing is what you get for the price. Arthurs or Gates you would get twice the amount for the price and it's better tasting. I wAs still pretty hungry when I left. That's never been the case at Arthur's or Gates. Meh... ok! Saturday's special is a brisket sandwich (brisket was tender/tasty) on a bun with onion (1 slice -- come on now) with no BBQ. The BBQ sauce is in the dining area choices are saucy, mild & sweet. Sweet was good but SUPER watery... so watery it lacked tremendous flavor. Sandwich came with two sides & they have a variety to choose from. Onion straws & baked potato casserole were my choices.. which I regretted whole heartedly. The baked potato casserole was mashed potatoes with a little shredded cheddar cheese & green onion atop=disappointment! Onion straws were OK but mainly batter an no onion.. would be nice if they offered a sauce to go with them since the BBQ sauce lacked any kind of enthusiasum. Weak weak BBQ place compared to all the many wonderful places KC has to offer. Yes, this was in Liberty but should of went somewhere I knew the food was good & worth the price. read more

I'm usually pretty wary about chain barbecue places. I had a few people give Dickey's the vague "not too bad" report so my wife & I decided to give them a try. I ordered a full rack of ribs & an order of barbecue beans. My wife ordered the 2 meat plate with turkey & ham with slaw & mac-n-cheese. My ribs were very tender and the seasoning was just OK. Unfortunately, there was almost no smoke flavoring. I tried all three sauces. The regular was a tangy, vinegar/tomato sauce. The spicy was one dimensional, spicy but not much else. The sweet was very sweet. Molasses, honey & liquid smoke with just enough tomato paste to color it. The beans were "barbecue" in name only. I found no hint of smoke but the flavor was still good. My wife's meal was not up to par either. The ham was dry, the turkey was moist & tender but still no hint of smoke flavoring. If you like KFC's slaw, you'll like this. If you liked your high school cafeteria mac-n-cheese, you'll like this. $45.00 later we found Dickey's to be smokeless, fairly well prepared "barbecue". I don't anticipate a return visit. read more

Stopped by the drive-thru on Tuesday 2/16 about 1:20 pm. I literally sat parked at the menu waiting for someone to take my order for five minutes. Not a peep or even a "can you hold on a second." I had someone waiting in line behind me, so I though okay, maybe the drive-through sensor is broke, so I drove up to the window to order. Sat at the window another five minutes and still did not see a single worker near the drive-thru register, food prep area, or checkout registers for dine in. ARE YOU FREAKIN' KIDDING ME?!?!? Guess they're not in the business of making money, so I drove off. Look, I've eaten at this Dickey's before, and the problem is, it's the only BBQ joint in Liberty. The portions are relatively small, the meat is often dry and overcooked, and that's if someone will be there to take your order. Until the big dogs (Gates, Jack Stack, Bryant's, and Joe's) quit discriminating against the Northland, we're stuck with this crap. Good luck. read more
