Food was also very good. We ordered our steaks medium and they were actually slightly well done but because of how juicy they are it wasnt a huge deal. And we didnt send it back. Today I had a T-bone Steak with Corn and Fries. Appetizer of Buffalo Chicken and finished off with warm Apple Pie with Ice Cream. Everything tasted great. The pie was better than I was anticipating. I don't know if I've just been oblivious or if it's new, but if you like the Cactus Blossom, but also enjoy spice, holy smokes, the Fire Blossom with cheese is 1000% better than the normal one. Barely shy of a five experience! I'm on the road from Colorado to Florida and was craving some protein. Figured I would try my old stomping grounds. I used to work in a Texas roadhouse in Colorado many moons ago. So I ordered the 8 ounce sirloin, medium rare. It turned out, medium, unfortunately. And... My extra crouton request became... No croutons... (wth!) but those are my only complaints. Portions are generous, with the fries and the salad that I got. Very friendly staff. And even with as busy as it was, carry out only took 20 minutes. Then I headed over to Walmart and got a fork really quick (already had a steak knife in the car, because who doesn't when they travel across the country? ). But... Even with how busy it was, the restaurant was clean, surprisingly, not super noisy (went to use the bathroom) and even those were clean. Great work, especially for a Friday night! read more

Despite every table being filled with families traveling for Christmas weekend, our service was excellent. Our waitress, Addie, was on top of filling up our waters, and was ready right on time for when we needed another beer. We split a cactus blossom appetizer which was excellent and the accompanying sauce paired well. Additionally, I had a burger which wasn't anything too special. We sat next to a painting of a man which looks like colonel sanders holding a plate (of several sets) of ribs. It seemed like nobody in the painting was enthusiastic about the ribs, however our entire table was ecstatic for these ribs and we savored the painting's warming and tasteful aesthetic to the upmost until our checks arrived. read more

This review is for the 2 experiences my boyfriend and I had at Texas R.H. on Friday, 8-30th & Thursday, 9-12th. ^__^ Both experiences were absolutely Awesome! Such amazing customer service we got Both times by different staff members. The restaurant itself was Very big and was super packed All the time, so we were quite lucky for our visits. We managed to get there and were seated before it became slammed with people! The food quality is truly something.. Both times we got exactly the steak we requested and Damn it was good! O__O That place became one of our new favorite places for sure! Their Zesty green beans were shockingly good lol, as well as their complimentary rolls you get upon arrival. My partner enjoys their cinnamon butter that comes with their rolls. I had mine with no butter, but honestly even if I Could have butter I don't think their bread needs it! We already look forward to our 3ed visit in the future. Not relevant or anything, but we were seated at the same table twice! It would be hilarious if we got the same spot third time around. I should mention their portioning as well since I appreciate such things just as much! I'm a work-meal-prepper-type person indeed, and Love when I can get a meal or two-worth of food from one restaurant visit for work reasons. ^__^ read more

I wanted to give a tip: if you were going out of town, and leaving a loved one behind, buy them a gift card to Texas Roadhouse They can order a meal to go, I recommend that they get a big steak and a potato along with a big salad. For the first night enjoy the salad and a roll for the second night, you can warm up the potato and the steak. If you're really hungry, you could actually eat the salad, half the steak, half the potato, and that would leave plenty for a lunch the next day . I always ask for extra rolls and that crack butter!!! You have not had French toast until you have made French toast with those rolls. Their takeout service is fantastic, you can even order a package or two of peanuts. I love how fast their service is and how fun the restaurant is. read more

I came here with a couple friends to grab dinner and was impressed at the kindness of the staff and their ability to get us on the wait list quickly. After being seated the service was prompt and rolls came out right away. I enjoyed the chicken tenders with honey mustard w/ choice side of fries and corn! I haven't had dinner at the Roadhouse for a while, so it made sense to go in and try out the steaks again. We got there at 4:30 on a weeknight and the place was already packed! There was a short waiting line, but we got in within 5 minutes. Of course, your host/hostess grabs a basket of those warm rolls along with the honey butter and you know it's going to be a good start to the evening. I ordered the filet and grilled shrimp along with a loaded baked potato and it was all very good! Another ordered the grilled salmon and baked sweet potato and it looked great too. Not happy. We all ordered steaks and all three steaks we over cooked. Manger was not as helpful as I thought she should have been. After over 2 hours we finally got our steaks and when they brought them out they said here's some complementary corn. It just seems like every time I get a steak there's something wrong. Great food! We love eating here because the price is a great deal for the quality of meal you get compared to other local places. Service is fine, but the wait staff doesn't always seem to be knowledgeable about the bar drinks. That's a big turn off since I like a good martini or margarita with my meal. read more

We went in today for a late lunch. Definitely some training opportunities here... We started to be seated by a table with small children and I asked if we could sit elsewhere because there was a good chance it could get loud. I had a headache. So we were taken to another table with two small children in the booth right behind us. One of whom refused to obey her parents, and ended up hitting her head and screaming for a lot of the meal. She wasn't hurt thankfully, only shrill and loud. Sigh... Then there was the server who came in and was yelling to recognize a child's birthday. She seemed to get a kick out of me putting my fingers in my ears while she was yelling. Ummmm .. who thinks loud, obnoxious yelling is a good idea? Looking around the small room, it seemed tolerated at best. I ordered the steak tips, medium rare. They came out well done and very, very chewy. So much so I could not eat them. When our server came by to ask how everything was, my husband said his was fine. I hesitated for a second as I got ready to answer her question. I wanted to make sure she knew I wasn't blaming her, but she was gone before I could speak. At the end of the meal we paid the check. I nicely told our server that my steak tips were not medium rare. I suggested that if it was not possible for them to be served medium rare, servers need to be told that. Or if it was possible, they need to train the line on how quickly small pieces of meat cook. She saw I had barely touched them. She said if she would've known, she could've had them re-done. I refrained from saying if she would've given me a chance to answer, she would've known. Or if she would've checked back and noticed I hadn't eaten them, she would have known. She asked if I wanted to talk to the manager. No, no I didn't. I don't like complaining, I was tired of the extremely loud environment in the small side room and I just wanted to leave. Even though I buy a large number of gift cards for Texas Roadhouse every year and get free appetizers, if the extremely loud environment and subpar meals continue, I will go someplace else. I like Texas Roadhouse for what it is - not a fine dining establishment. But decent food and a less than obnoxious environment is not too much to ask, is it? read more

Ok it's a chain. But it's a good chain. We just came in for lunch. Hadn't been to this location before. Excellent hamburger and very good chicken fingers. Got a seat fast and our waiter took good care of us. The hot rolls are grandma good. This location is visible from the highway but the parking lot is set up poorly and hard to get to. We had a great time and a fun lunch. Looking forward to the new location coming to Lee's Summit but that parking lot is a little crazy too. 3.5 stars. Food was good, service was meh. Got here about 5pm on a Tuesday and no wait! Woo hoo! Got seated but took us a while to get settled due to tantruming toddler. Server came by for drink orders but 1/4 of our party was in the bathroom and toddler was still amped. She did her job of trying to upsell on drinks and appetizers but we knew what we wanted (steak). Because one person was in the bathroom we needed more time to decide what to order and the server seemed to get upset as it took her a really long time to come back. My husband got chili as a side and it came pretty quick. My dad and I got salads and it took longer. Server asked if we wanted more rolls and even though we said no they still came. The food came (11 oz sirloin medium for husband, 6oz sirloin for me, herb crusted chicken for my dad and a hot dog for the kidlet). Steak was delicious. I got mine medium rare and if anything it was undercooked. Which was A-ok with me as I really like my steaks more on the rare side and this one was nice and bloody. The potatoes were crusted with salt and my husband thought it was the steak. not sure what the benefit is to salt crusting the outside of them. We were able to get the check relatively quickly and get out. We will go back as this is on our yearly food tour when we come to KC. read more
