So, we have been coming here since they reopened, and until today we have had good service and food. Today, the employees decided masks were not necessary, insisted there was no longer a mask mandate in California, and that since Dickey's is a Texas based company, they do not require their employees to wear masks, even if it is required by local and state guidelines. The rude, obnoxious responses and the complete disregard for the safety of the employees and their customers has lost them my business. I will never return, and suggest you stay away if you value your health. If they disregard these guidelines, what else are they not complying with? Do they wash their hands? First, They don't have Fried Okra at this location. I was disappointed and normally, that would cost them a star. But the service provided along with the food, well easily covered for that. I ordered the Westerner with chicken and jalapeno cheddar sausage as well as a large sweet tea. The sweet tea container emptied out while trying to fill my Big Yellow cup. So that's when she jumped into action (sorry, I didn't get her name) Blonde hair. She quickly refilled the sweet tea container and I was able to enjoy some good Dickey's sweet tea with my sandwich. if you want good bbq middle of no where this is the spot. it's a small dive near a truck stop & dennys. the prices were HIGH for a combo you'll spend bout $20 with tax and thats just 1 meal so the girls is taxin but the mash and meat are good. portions should be bigger for what you pay though. i want to try the sweet rub ribs next time but its a drive from the bay and valley. bathrooms on the other hand were disgusting there was pee all over the floor & seat of toilet and no t.p. cleanly maintenance needs to be changed because if their bathrooms are like that it makes me question the kitchen. i was looking forward to sweet tea, but it was pretty mid not even sweet. read more

If I could give this Dickey's a minus 10 I would. AWFUL AWFUL food. We have eaten at different Dickey's around the area and always thought the food was good. This place has soured us on ever going to another Dicky's again. Number one, they were out of most of the meats. The pulled pork was so over salted that it was hard to eat. The green beans were also very over salted and not edible. The baked potato casserole seem like it was made with instant potatoes and a couple chunks of I don't know what it was and that was it. I would be so ashamed to be putting food like that out for your customers. Maybe you cater to mostly truck drivers, but I hate to tell you truck drivers know good food and they deserve good food. No, no, no! Rude, unhelpful employees. I should have known: every other restaurant was packed, but Dickey's was practically deserted with just one customer. I ordered online and when I got to the store I wasn't acknowledged at all for about ten minutes as both employees carried on a conversation with said only customer. Once they finally noticed me, I told them I'd placed an online order. His English was, well, rudimentary at best. Lots of talking back and forth in Spanish. They decided they hadn't received my order. Not only that, they did not have the items I ordered. Fine, you can refund me the cost of those items. But noooo, they can't give me a refund. The rude one told me, "you gotta call the company. That's not us." Okay, I'd like to speak to your manager or store owner. They shuffled around some papers and then told me they don't know who the owner or manager is. You don't know who you work for?!?! The other employee told me they couldn't give me a refund because they had no proof I'd paid for my order; doesn't make much sense...you'll give me $40 of food without said proof, but not a $9 refund?! Also, they carried on a conversation about me in Spanish. I told them it's considered rude to talk about someone in another language in front of them (in my previous life we weren't even allowed to speak another language at work). "I'm not talking to you" he said. Finally, one of them offered to take my phone number so he could give it to the manager, with a promise she'd (how did he all of a sudden know the manager was a she?) call me the next day and that she would give me coupons to make up for the $40?!?! You roll into the "no truck entry" parking lot and order over the wooden barrier on the left side of the restaurant. On the radio is slow, old country music. You might see some truckers on their pit stop, consuming a pile of barbecued beef through the grit of their missing teeth. Could have eaten great non-chain O & J's BBQ down the road in Santa Nella, but we were staying in Westley and there was plenty of time to make it to Dickey's well before closing. Pulled into the lot at 8:20 pm, with 40 minutes to spare before closing, only to find the doors locked. Inside, we could see the staff doing various tasks in a leisurely manner. Tried knocking to get their attention and tried calling. Ignored completely. I noticed this Dickey's BBQ location a few weeks ago when passing through, and made a mental note to remember that it's there as it's difficult to see from the road. It's a great option if you're in the area as there aren't a lot of choices here. Typical Dickey's BBQ fare here, although a few of the combo meals I am used to were not available at this location. You can still get them, you just have to piece them together yourself as you order. I had the Beefy Mac Smoke Stack (Slow smoked brisket with creamy mac and cheese) it was a generous portion for the price and was very tasty. I would definitely order it again. Service was friendly and quick. Additionally this location seems to have more available seating than many other Dickey's BBQ locations I've been too. Tried calling in a Togo order and was put on hold for over 6 mins. Tried calling back and no answer. Went into order and it was pretty empty. Was told they don't have containers for the BBQ and we're trying to not give us any BBQ sauce. How do you have BBQ with out sauce? Asked if they could give me one of the side containers of sauce and they said they couldn't cause them every one would want it that way. But the manager was great about it and gave me the rib plate instead. The ribs were good. The sauces are great, and the lemonade was fantastic! The potato salad is the mustard kind which I love! The two reasons we pulled off the freeway to come to Dickey's was for the fried okra and sweet tea. They informed me that this location doesn't have fried okra (ok so I'm super bummed) but there's still the sweet tea! Guess again! Both the sweet tea and the regular tea were completely empty. The lady at the counter gave me attitude when I told her the tea was out. She was rude and told me she was busy. Staff was not happy to be there and complained how she was making money for the owners while they were on vacation. They ask for my meet choice and was told they didn't have that and I could have brisket ( it was all fat and gristle) then side were missing I wanted. I ended up throwing it away. I let the person in charge know that was the worst cut of meet I ever had and that they should have not served it- her response was "I will let the owner know about your feedback" which I am sure they won't. I always stop here on my way from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. Food is always good and the servers are polite. The beef brisket is great. Tender and tasty. Cole Slaw is also a winner. Love their sauces too. Prices are what you expect from Dickey's everywhere. I would give them five stars, except that their housekeeping needs improvement.
