I waited over 20 minutes past my pickup time just to receive food that is absolutely disgusting. The meat looks like it's been sitting out for hours, part of my order is missing, and the condition of the food looks completely unsanitary -- it honestly looks like it's been tampered with. What makes this even worse is that I was told the manager prepared this. That is unacceptable. If this is the standard coming from management, that's a serious problem. I want to start by saying that this place used to be a great destination for a buffet experience. It was always busy, which was a good sign because the food and service were decent. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes including steaks, chicken, various types of meat, butter shrimp, fresh salads, and desserts. Even though there was a line, it always moved quickly. The wait times were reasonable, the staff was attentive, and the place was clean and well maintained. Overall, it was an enjoyable and satisfying experience that kept me coming back. It is very sad to see what it has become nowadays. The long lines now takes forever. The steak at the grill is either completely gone or there is a ridiculously small amount that disappears immediately. The butter shrimp that used to be a highlight is no longer available. Much of the food now looks unappealing, poorly prepared. The steaks are much smaller than before, and many trays remain empty while people are left waiting. There is clearly frustration among guests who are trying to enjoy a meal but are faced with a lack of food options and slow service. On top of that, the cleanliness of the restrooms has noticeably declined, which reflects poorly on overall management and attention to detail. I hope that management can recognize these problems and take action to restore the quality and standards that made this place great in the first place. Until then, I would personally prefer to drive to another location that is well served, clean, and maintains the high standards that were once expected. OK, we have been to this place over the years, but don't think I have ever did a review till now ambiance on this location it's very nice and clean. Service was pretty good as could be expected. Food was actually really good. The steak was really nice just because of that that went from 3 to 4 stars over all very tasty. You relationally come back as usual. If you are in an area check it out. The food was really good, the cashier Dascha was friendly and very welcoming. I had a great time being here especially with our server who was very on top of things. The food was delicious and it reminded me why I should come back in the future and why I should bring more friends and family! The manager Caroline was also very friendly asking me if I was okay as well as my day. Came in early Friday morning, very nice quiet atmosphere, sat by the fireplace close to food, kind of felt like we were in a lodge. So many choices of food everything fully ready to go salads so many kinds, nacho bar, waffle bar, crispy hot waffles! Hot potatoes, different kinds of sausages. The chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy was delicious. & the eggs seem so fresh and fluffy, not watery. The onion rings were my favorite:) & Dole whip dessert! Date: 6/16/2025 Time: 1:30 PM 79° Sunny The first time I had eaten at Golden Corral was over 11 years ago in Sacramento. My girlfriend treated me on a Sunday after church service. Why so long? There is no Golden Corral in Alameda and the surrounding cities. The closest one is in Walnut Creek. Walnut Creek is far from my home and I don't drive. Even though Golden Corral in Tracy has a nice set up at the different stations (salads, appetizers, entrees, sides, desserts), I am not exactly an AYCE buffet fan. I know what my limitations are when I eat at a buffet restaurant. Being a senior citizen, I don't want to be a glutton and then miserable if I over indulged with a stomach ache. Eats and beverage: salad (spring mix with diced ham and turkey, shredded cheese, crouton, vinaigrette dressing), mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits and a slice of canned peach, potato salad and seafood salad. Second round: scrambled eggs, crispy hash browns, three onion rings, two spoons of fried okras, green beans and a beef tamale. Third round: dessert - strawberry jello, a small serving of apple pie and a sliced of yellow cake. Beverage: iced tea, which was mediocre. The tea tasted more like water and it was lukewarm (2 stars). I had better tea elsewhere. I had to doctor it up with a bottle of Sparkling Ice (peach lemonade) that I had in my bag. Yes, I am a finicky diner. What they offered was nothing to write home about. It is just okay at best (3 stars). However, what I enjoyed was the spring mix salad, fried okra and strawberry jello. It will probably be another several years before I do a return visit to a Golden Corral. read more

I don't know why I've been avoiding this place, even avoided going to a birthday party here because I was scared of the American Food buffet. Had family from out of town visiting and one of them mentioned they had been wanting to try Golden Corral, since we couldn't figure out a place for everyone, off we went and I was even one of the drivers! We arrived early afternoon, and the place was pretty much deserted. We had our choice of seating and the buffet was loaded with hot fresh food. I was wondering why so much food was put out and then I didn't have to wonder much longer. By the time I got to my table with my plate of buffet eats the place was nearly half filled. Everyone was happy with their food, some favorites were the catfish, pot roast, mashed potatoes and brown gravy, bourbon chicken, chicken pot pie, dinner rolls, stuffing and the sirloin steak - which was cooked perfectly medium well. I asked for the smallest piece and he gave me about 3 ounces which I could barely finish. Our waiter was very nice, had a great sense of humor and kept our drinks refilled. If our experience had ended here, I would've given the place a four-star rating; however, we decided we were going to try to get dessert. At this point, the place was packed and there were lines and kids everywhere helping themselves. A line was now at the grill and a rude woman in line was very loudly cursing at the staff at the grill. Others in her party were equally loud with excessive foul language. I also noticed several tables where families had allowed their kids to make huge messes at the table and on the floor. 06/27/25- Went about an hour after they opened. The remodel looks great. Looks brighter and roomier. Food was fresh and everything we had was tasty. The only thing that wasn't was the strawberry sugar free cake. It was dried out. The breakfast they offered was scrambled eggs, chicken fried steak, French toast, pancakes, hash browns, biscuits, and sausage gravy during the week. Carved ham was available also. I don't recall ever seeing tamales before. It was a welcomed surprise and they were very good. I do wish that they have menudo again, but they have pozole. Drinks are self serve and before paying you can chose your drink with 2 sizes to chose from.. The larger size is a To Go cup.. Then after picking your table and eating, you can go get your own refills. There are 2 drink stations on each side but only 1 gas coffee. If I could rate our experience, 10/10!! From the service, to the food, to the environment-I can't say enough good things. I almost don't want to leave this raving review because it's like a hidden gem lol! The restaurant was quiet and everyone was respectful and patient when waiting for food. The host was so kind and went out of her way to ensure our big party had enough space to sit together. It was quiet and "Do it all" Danny gave us exceptional service. He was covering a huge section, but kept checking on us, was cleaning tables, and vacuuming-he was a star! There was a wide selection of food and desserts. All of it was so good, hot, and fresh. This place is the Disneyland of buffets. I was truly blown away by the value and experience we got out of our visit, as a person who had never been to a Golden Corral before. I'm normally fairly wary of buffets due to their association with watery, reheated and kept warm, questionable food with a focus on quantity over quality. That is NOT the case with this Golden Corral. The highlights: - incredible, high-end tasting sirloin steaks, grilled fresh and to order right in front of you. Not sitting in a warmer or in a pile getting wet! They're extremely, unbelievably tender and juicy. My gf said she liked it better than Texas Roadhouse, which costs the same amount or more, and it's not even AYCE! - the best dessert station in the buffet game. There's real soft serve ice cream (not that icy garbage at most buffets), real HOT fudge (not cold chocolate syrup), fresh cakes, and bread pudding - the real star for me: an ICEE machine! You can have as many Icees as you want! This is also the highest quality icee machine I've ever seen. The drinks literally never melt and separate, you can drink them all the way down without the classic slushee issue of the syrup separating from the ice - fantastic sides and appetizers. Above standard buffet pizza, good onion rings and fries, surprisingly good fried shrimp, an enormous and fully stocked salad bar, and really delicious rolls and biscuits. Don't fill up on this stuff though, save room for the steak! - friendly and attentive staff working their butts off to get everyone then food and service they needed, which was honestly surprising. Never a long wait for the steaks, and all the food was constantly being restocked and made fresh. - a cozy, recently remodeled, quiet venue. Not the chaotic hustle and bustle of a normal buffet, this place accommodated quiet, intimate conversations. There's even a fireplace to sit by! Everyone is so locked in on the delicious steak that there's no screaming and yelling from bored and restless children, just quiet, peaceful decadence. The place looks beautiful too, on the outside and on the inside. All for under $60 for two people! Great, great deal and a wonderful location. We will be back soon. read more

Second time eating at a Golden Corral. First time at this location and first go around at their breakfast. They have all the essential breakfast items like pancakes, waffles,French toast, hash browns, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links/patties. Fried chicken in the morning? Heck yeah! They have some non-breakfast items as well as some that don't look appetizing. Hey there is something for everybody muhahaha! Too many items to list, just go and see for yourself if you love breakfast/brunch items. Not bad for all the food your heart desires for under $20 with unlimited drinks if you add it to the meal. 5 of us decided to stop here to eat for lunch around 12:30pm on a Saturday on our way to Modesto. Parking lot didn't look full which should've been a sign. We walked in, paid, and seated ourself to the right of the cashier all the way to the end by the window near fireplace. We all served ourselves and started eating and talking with each other. The food selection was blah......basic mashed potatoes, gravy, and veggies. No main course meats, fish, or anything worth going back for. After 20 minutes of eating my eyes started to burn, I thought maybe I was just tired so kept eating and talking. After a few minutes my eyes started burning more and I got concerned thinking there might be a gas leak or something. I mentioned to my Grandson that my eyes were burning and he said so we're his and the rest of our party agreed theirs were too so we stopped eating and got up to leave as we had a infant with us and we wanted to get outside fast to get some air. As we all got up to leave and we're walking past the food area we saw an employee with a big bag of onions cutting them up out in the open...this was why our eyes were burning!!!!!! The smell and sting to our eyes got worse as we got closer!!! We exited and immediately our eyes felt some relief. We didn't want to go back in for desert or food because the smell was so strong and bad that we would not be able to tolerate it. When cutting onions or chili that would carry through the air needs to be done in the kitchen and not out in the open out of respect to customers. We have been here one before, 8 yea ago. We decided to try it again, hoping it improved. It has not improved and was once again a waste of time. The salad bar was mostly empty, food was cold and hard like it had been out for a while, and staff couldn't care less. We had to really try to find something worth eating. The staff kept saying it was coming out but nothing came. It was about 430 pm, right about dinner time and the place was empty. I can see why now. I went for dinner with my adult twins, my nephew and grandson 3/23. The food is always a better and healthier choice than fast food. The options are also great. The server Eric, was soooo cool, respectful, humble, very handsome young man and nice. He didn't hesitate for nothing asked for. He made everything just 100% better. He kept the table cleared and drinks refilled. He was just so sweet. I really hope the owners read all comments rather the bad or good. So they know that some workers deserve recognition. This place is DISGUSTING! It was super hot and humid inside. There was a rotten smell and flies flying all over everything. I don't know how this place is allowed to be open. It was super dirty and the most disgusting restaurant I have ever been inside. I think it needs to be inspected and shut down. The amount of flies that were flying around and the smell was horrendous. I don't know how the workers could even handle it. It was filthy. I didn't eat anything and left right away.
