This review is not about their service but about an incident that took place at 5:15 pm on April 30. I had parked at 5 pm outside their shop on the street, with a 20 minute parking limit till 6 pm. When I came back at 5:15 pm, one of their employees started hurling verbal abuses. Clearly he was upset I had parked there since he or his colleague wanted to park their pickup truck there. While arguing with him, I accidentally released some spit. This guy threatened me that if I spit again, he will knock me down. I have the whole incident captured on my cell phone. I will report this business and the employee to Campbell Police. read more

By far the best tow experince I have had. From start to finish excellent customer service. My husband car was stolen they ended up finding it the next day. Since his car has air bags and his car was lowered almost all the way AAA would not tow it. So I went onto yelp started to search I found Dick's Towing & Transport. Heath got to the car in 15-20 minutes, tried his portable charger for the quickest solution to a dead battery but the five year old battery was too far gone so he connected the powerful charger on the truck. Fifteen seconds more and the car was running. He gave good advice about not turning off the car before I got to a place which could replace the battery. I would use Dick's again but I hope not for at least five years. read more

Picked up my phone right away, scheduled a tow truck arriving within 20 min. Belated but well-deserved review. My car broke down last Nov and needed to be towed to the auto shop. I have used this place before and have always gotten a great service. That day Roberto Garcia helped me. He carefully loaded the car onto the flatbed and secured it properly. He then dropped it off without any issue to the auto shop. Just had the BEST tow experience with any of my AAA tows. Chuck just loaded up my lowered Toyota MR2 without any damage or scraping the bottom. He paid careful attention with the front fiberglass bumper and also the rear bumper skirts and exhaust system. He had the right skills to maneuver the bed and tilt it at the right moment, even while the vehicle was not all the way up the bed yet, to prevent anything from ever touching the ground or the bed. I warned him about the front bumper being fiberglass and any tension from the straps would crack it. I would trust him in moving any cars that are extremely low. Wish there is some way to request for his service in any future tows. GREAT JOB CHUCK!!! Can't thank you enough! read more

Low and behold a jump worked and my car got started, I know I need a new battery, but Dicks Towing did honest work and saved me the cost of a tow and only charged for a battery jump, big savings (this was not a AAA call, this was all out of pocket). We known dicks towing since 1987. We used to be their neighbor across the street. Never had a problem with their service. Tonight our truck broke down and were stuck on commuter lane on San Tomas Expwy. Called dicks towing and they said someone will be there in 10 minutes. My car had a dead battery that I tried fixing on my own but it was so corroded that I couldn't. Called to get an estimate and it is: * $105 for the hook up (the $5 off for mentioning Yelp) * 3 free initial miles * $4.50 for each additional mile above the 3 * Has a range of 200 miles is the farthest you can go The wait time when I called apparently was really busy and it took them about an hour and a half to get to me. They called to alert me that they were coming 10 min ahead. Today was one of their busier days and they said that it was going to take them 1 hr to about 1 hr and a half to get to me, but I called at 16:18 and they called me at 16:50 to let me know that the driver was on his way and that he would wait for me if he got there before I did. The person that helped me out was James and he was super helpful! On the spot he tried to see if it was an issue that was repairable to avoid the cost of going to the mechanic, but I had a feeling that it wasn't something that you could just put a band-aid on to fix the problem. Would definitely recommend Dicks over any of the other towing services. They have the most affordable rates in Campbell and the area, and they're super friendly. read more

My son's tire blew out late last night on highway 17 by Camden. We are AAA members and called them first. After waiting 1.5 hours (initially told "30" minutes), I called Dick's Towing. I have used them several times in the past thru AAA and always had a great experience. I spoke to dispatch, received a price quote (AAA will reimburse) and was told they would there in 45 minutes (quicker than the additional time updated by AAA). Dick's Towing arrived in 25 minutes and John Zowin was awesome. Excellent customer service from start to finish and this is the reason why I called them. Worst Triple AAA tow service I ever used, if you are with Triple AAA tow in this area cancel your membership, and boycott this company until Triple AAA uses a new contract tow service provider. There drivers are arrogant and untrained, refused to tow my 1998 BMW 528 sport edition with a flat tire stating it was too low for their flat bed tow truck. Also stated that my DMV registration was expired and refused too tow even though my registration fees were paid waiting for my smog referee appointment for a waiver, I even would have given the tow driver a tip or bought him lunch if he wasn't such an A hole prick. After they refused to tow my 1998 BMW in the rain and with a Handicap Placard because I am disabled, I had to call City Tow, who had no problem towing my vehicle with the their Flatbed tow truck. read more

Listen up. I don't write many reviews. Normally only for extraordinary experiences - on both extreme ends. I unfortunately needed towing services today. This wasn't a normal tow as there were some unusual circumstances. Let's just say that my interactions with Dick's today far surpassed my expectations. In particular, the dispatcher went out of her way to meet my somewhat unusual request and the driver was outstanding as well. The whole experience was perfect. The driver (mike) very rude and had an attitude even on the phone for the address which the app selected (the GPS location, which is the most precise location). When he showed up, he started to behaving rudely. We had to call the manager, and he sent a different driver. If you see mike's name on the app, cancel your request or ask for a different driver. read more

I don't like to be the "damsel in distress" but with the tire blown out on my SUV on Hwy 85 at 12:30 am, there was no way I was gonna attempt being a tough girl and change the tire myself. Lucky for me, Aaron with Dick's Automotive came to the rescue! He showed up less than 10 minutes after my call into AAA and after trying to free my spare tire, Aaron informed me that the harness holding the spare was broken, the spare tire was stuck, and that he wasn't able to change the tire on the side of the road. I want to give a big shout out and "THANK YOU" to Heath of Dick's Community Towing for the excellent service he gave me this morning. My car was stuck on the driveway with a dead battery, a hood release that did not want to work for me and the transmission set to PARK. My only option appeared to be a tow to the dealership. However, Heath was somehow able to get the hood release to work and the car jumpstarted. He was very personable as well as professional. He advised me how long to run the engine to charge the battery and reminded me that when I turn it off again, I should only do it in a safe location. I should also add that he arrived quickly (less than 30 minutes) after I called in the request and he let me know that my insurance company would be charged directly. There is a guy here who is COMPLETELY incompetent on how to do his job. A job that usually takes At most 30 minutes has taken two hours and our tow isnt even done. Hes had to call several other co workers and google how to get a 2016 car in neutral to just get it up the ramp. When he said he needed to get into the trunk for a lever, he came back to us and said "D you want to take the stuff out of the trunk, I dont want to find a bunch of dildos in there" with a chuckle as if that was funny. Its COMPLETE sexual harassment. We wanted to call someone else right away, but after the time weve already spent waiting, we decided to wait a little longer to get the car dropped off at our complex as needed. He started at 1pm. It is now 3:06 pm. And the tow is less than a mile from the complex. When we got to the complex he immediately asked us how we were going to pay, and we responded saying we are in the middle of calling the company directly. I said if you would just mind starting the process to release the car, that would be appreciated. He said "Well that's fine I'll call the company too" and irritatedly stormed off. He was pacing aggressively in front of the car as we were trying to get a hold of the company. We felt like we had no other option but to pay him immediately before the situation escalated. He was extremely inappropriate,disrespectful, and aggressive. I've never had such a terrible experience in my life, and would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE. read more
