We own a Tesla Model 3 that was dead--couldn't open and no juice. Mario Aguayo our tower (also the Supervisor) phoned us and triaged the problem (ticking sound from fronk and a rotten egg smell (sulfur seeping from dying 12v battery). He not only diagnosed it over the phone and confirmed in person, he went out of his way to phone Tesla, get approval to buy a 12v battery, and install. We could have been carless for the week towing to service center and Mario did Tesla roadside assistance 2 for 1 avoiding tow. Honestly, I'm pretty sure there is NEVER a situation in which you are happy to call a towing company. So for me to give 5 stars really means something! Armando (that's my car's name) wouldn't start in the morning. I tried to jumping him... nada. Alas, I needed to call a tow company as he was parked in a drive way and blocking another car in the garage. I called another tow company who said it would take 2 hours and $138 to tow him less than a mile to the shop. A gave Dick's Automotive a call and there time and price was way more reasonable (came within 30 min and my final price was only $95!) On top of that, my driver was AWESOME! He first tried to jump my car again and gave it his best diagnosis (not the battery, but something to do with my gas tanks). Gave me some good car advice, life advice, and kept me laughing throughout the whole ordeal. I wish I remembered his name but THANK YOU! On a side note - looks like they are contractors for AAA so I am pretty inspired to sign up now. I've always worried they hire lousy contractors for towing at such a subsidized cost but that is def not the case (at least in the West San Jose area). HUGE Thank to John with Dick's Community Towing. Really eased my anxiety when my car broke down on Hwy 17. My car lost all power while driving on a busy highway 17. I managed to pull over to the side, but it was so busy with cars flying by. I called for a tow from road side assistance and they estimated tow will be there in 75 mins. Then the tow truck they send couldn't move my car because it won't shift into N no matter what the tow service tried. So road assistance had to call another truck. Long story short, 90 minutes later, because the other company's equipment failed and couldn't locate the right equipment, Dick's Community Towing was send to the rescue. By then, I had a ride home because there was really no reason for me to stay by my car on a dangerous busy highway. What I REALLY appreciate was John called me when he was in route to my location. He wanted to assure me that he is coming and when to expect him. I'm glad he did that because he didn't realize I was not with my car. Once we exchanged that little detail, he assured me he is approaching the destination. and have me remain on the phone until he has visual confirmation. Once he saw my car, he assured me that he will take care of it and for me not to worry. Then about 45 minutes later, he texted me with a photo of my car promptly dropped off at the service station. The anxiety of having my car break down was really tough. To have John understand that and did what he did to assure me help ease some of that anxiety. Had a flat tire, luckily in the garage. Called Dick's at 9:00 AM. At 9:20 the tow operator Heath was a my home. He removed the bad tire but because of a quirk with my very old truck could not remove the spare. He loaded the flat into my wife's car and said after it was repaired he'd return and do the installation. The next morning at 9:30 AM Heath completed the installation. This review is not about their service but about an incident that took place at 5:15 pm on April 30. I had parked at 5 pm outside their shop on the street, with a 20 minute parking limit till 6 pm. When I came back at 5:15 pm, one of their employees started hurling verbal abuses. Clearly he was upset I had parked there since he or his colleague wanted to park their pickup truck there. While arguing with him, I accidentally released some spit. This guy threatened me that if I spit again, he will knock me down. I have the whole incident captured on my cell phone. Heath got to the car in 15-20 minutes, tried his portable charger for the quickest solution to a dead battery but the five year old battery was too far gone so he connected the powerful charger on the truck. Fifteen seconds more and the car was running. He gave good advice about not turning off the car before I got to a place which could replace the battery. Just had the BEST tow experience with any of my AAA tows. Chuck just loaded up my lowered Toyota MR2 without any damage or scraping the bottom. He paid careful attention with the front fiberglass bumper and also the rear bumper skirts and exhaust system. He had the right skills to maneuver the bed and tilt it at the right moment, even while the vehicle was not all the way up the bed yet, to prevent anything from ever touching the ground or the bed. I warned him about the front bumper being fiberglass and any tension from the straps would crack it. I would trust him in moving any cars that are extremely low. My car had a dead battery that I tried fixing on my own but it was so corroded that I couldn't. Called to get an estimate and it is: * $105 for the hook up (the $5 off for mentioning Yelp) * 3 free initial miles * $4.50 for each additional mile above the 3 * Has a range of 200 miles is the farthest you can go The wait time when I called apparently was really busy and it took them about an hour and a half to get to me. They called to alert me that they were coming 10 min ahead. Today was one of their busier days and they said that it was going to take them 1 hr to about 1 hr and a half to get to me, but I called at 16:18 and they called me at 16:50 to let me know that the driver was on his way and that he would wait for me if he got there before I did. The person that helped me out was James and he was super helpful! On the spot he tried to see if it was an issue that was repairable to avoid the cost of going to the mechanic, but I had a feeling that it wasn't something that you could just put a band-aid on to fix the problem. Would definitely recommend Dicks over any of the other towing services. They have the most affordable rates in Campbell and the area, and they're super friendly. read more

Worst Triple AAA tow service I ever used, if you are with Triple AAA tow in this area cancel your membership, and boycott this company until Triple AAA uses a new contract tow service provider. There drivers are arrogant and untrained, refused to tow my 1998 BMW 528 sport edition with a flat tire stating it was too low for their flat bed tow truck. Also stated that my DMV registration was expired and refused too tow even though my registration fees were paid waiting for my smog referee appointment for a waiver, I even would have given the tow driver a tip or bought him lunch if he wasn't such an A hole prick. After they refused to tow my 1998 BMW in the rain and with a Handicap Placard because I am disabled, I had to call City Tow, who had no problem towing my vehicle with the their Flatbed tow truck. read more
