The bar area and first floor dining area were busy and we were relieved that the patio was quieter and less chaotic. Jennifer was our server and she took good care of us. She got our dogs a bowl of water as soon as we sat at a corner table. We were hungry. My friend had Nacho fries and I had a chicken taco salad. My salad was the only disappointing thing about our visit today. The chicken was minimal and there were no beans at all. The menu does not mention beans, so this was my oversight. But who makes a taco salad without beans? The taco salad was missing more than just beans, though. The menu stated it also had cheddar cheese and sour cream. Both were missing. No wonder the salad was flavorless and underwhelming. I ate the entire thing, though, because I was very hungry and needed to eat something before drinking any beer later. I enjoyed the ambiance. Sitting outside with a view from above toward Allen Street is nice. I will make sure I will not order the taco salad next time. We had our two dogs with us. The family running this place were so friendly. I ordered a chicken burrito and my friend had a birria burrito. Both were grilled fresh so we waited a few minutes. While we waited, one of the employees asked us if she could give our dogs some beef scraps. My dogs never refuse meats of any kind so we agreed. The young woman came back with enough cuttings for both dogs. She now has two friends for life. My chicken burrito was delicious. The Pico de gallo had both sweet and spicy peppers in it, which created a taste sensation I seldom experience. The birria was a little soggy but also very tasty. This place is a local icon as people kept coming.
