Between the live music and the old historic vibe, I think it's one of the coolest experiences in town! The history behind the place is also really interesting. It's the second-oldest restaurant in Arizona and opened in 1880. The building used to be the Grand Hotel before it burned down in 1882 & was rebuilt, and there's a lot of history connected to it. The food isn't luxury dining, but I've never been disappointed with a burger or sandwich with some onion rings (really tasty btw). My girlfriend also loves the Macho Nachos. Overall it's just a fun spot with good prices, good service, and a Wild West-sized load of character

Even on a Tuesday afternoon in mid-April, this joint was bustling with live music, servers rushing about in their period costumes, and the chatter of happy patrons enjoying themselves and taking it all in. Whether a lover of frontier history, western cinema, or just plain ol' drinking in a genuine saloon, Big Nose Kate's screams, "WELCOME TO THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE!" Upon entering, our party was seated in a raised section above the main floor near the front windows. It was an excellent spot to see all the action (including a monitor playing the movie Tombstone, BTW) as we perused the menu of appetizers, entrees, and libations. The selection of specialty drinks was impressive, though I opted for a simple "Big Ass" draft pilsner (flavorful and locally brewed). My wife did order a Cowboy Sangria - and it appears wimpy drinks "don't go around here, Law Dog," because she thought it was good but a bit too strong. I actually had to finish it for her. (Such a chivalrous sacrifice!) But don't assume that Kate's is just a drinking establishment; there's quite a variety of eats, as well. Good-sized, tasty looking burgers and sandwiches passed by our table, which were tempting; however, not being overly hungry, we decided to sample a few of their appetizers as we moved on to another round of beers. The Buffalo Wings were good but nothing really special. The Soft Pretzel Basket - actually one HUGE pretzel served with cheese and mustard sauces - was warm, salty, and much bigger than anyone anticipated. It was enjoyed by our entire table. When visiting, don't neglect a trip to the gift shop, which can be accessed from a spiral staircase right in the center of the dining area. Their menu recounts that a part of this underground area was once the abode of the saloon's swamper, and you can even view his living cubby and mining tunnel when below. Of course, there's lots of branded swag available for sale down there, too! Big Nose Kate's Saloon is a must-see stop for Tombstone visitors. Priced aren't exorbitant, portions are generous, and the food and drinks are pretty darned good, as was evident from the satisfied looks of the diners and drinkers around us . You may even be approached by Steve, who offers FREE photos (from your personal camera or phone) with props and piano-top poses - now how can you beat that value? Make it a point to come on in, belly up to the bar, and enjoy the saloon's hospitality.

My mouth is literally hanging open I'm in shock…read more It's Saturday night and we're visiting, I call to place a pick up order and woman tells me they haven't had a restaurant for years. I say okay! My bad I looked at yelp and when I clicked on their "website" option it took me to Facebook. She very rudely told me she didn't write the website. Okay? Awkward. She said they only had bar food and pizza. I asked what kind of bar food, and as soon as she said chicken wings I interjected and said okay great how many! And what flavors. She is super rude on the phone, and without prompt tells me she's super busy and doesn't have "all day" to read me the entire menu. I'm like, "I'm sorry I get that there's just no visible menu to order from" and she starts berating me that she doesn't write the website. She's so incredibly rude, at this point I'm literally holding the phone with my mouth open. I ask her what her name is and she HANGS UP THE PHONE ON ME. I call back and ask to talk to the owner because that sh** was OUTRAGEOUS and she denies hanging up and suddenly insists she didn't hang up the phone. I get it's a small town but no amount of ignorance or lack of socialization calls for that level of rudeness. Next time, just say you don't take call out and maybe update your information so people don't call asking WHAT YOU SERVE.

Not a lot of restaurants in this area are open past 7 PM at this time of year. I was lucky enough…read moreto find this place, which is basically a bar that serves pizza. Reasonable prices, good service, friendly bartender. Close to lodging.

The carne asada fries were loaded and not skimpy on the meat. Tacos had a good balance without being greasy. You can tell this is the kind of place people in town already know about. Nothing flashy, just solid food done right. Prices were reasonable too considering how expensive eating out has gotten lately.

It is huge... easily big enough for two people. But it is mostly stuffed with smushed rice with a tiny bit of beans and cabbage and meat. The carne asada was very dry and flavorless and had some inedible gristle. I definitely would not order the carne asada burrito again. Having said this, the place was very busy, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing or caught them on a bad day. The customers appeared to be regulars, mostly groups of soldiers and civilians who looked like they worked together on base and were having lunch break together. Staff were very friendly, fast, and the restaurant has a cool local positive vibe. Not really a cheap place either... $23 for burrito, drink and tip. May try again.

Consistent Excellent Service & Quality After visiting 6…read moretimes during the past 12 months I can honestly state that Taco Giro deserves 5 stars. Why? Because each time we have gone there we were immediately greeted and seated, food and drinks were consistently very good or excellent and compared to other restaurants in Cochise County, has maintained that consistency and excellent customer service over time. My first review was written after they first opened a few years ago. I gave them only 3 stars then and offered suggestions for improvement. Since then, they have met or exceeded my expectations. My companion is from Sonora, Mx. and loves to prepare recipes passed down from her grandmother from the late 1800's. Thus, she really knows good Mexican food made with fresh ingredients, thus, is VERY picky. Since we live in a desert and not close to the Gulf of Mexico, fresh seafood is nearly impossible to obtain. I'm not generally a fan of flash frozen fish since I'm spoiled, having eaten fresh caught oysters and seafood from the gulf. However, they have found a distributor who provides flash frozen seafood and it tastes pretty good. Most frozen seafood, in my opinion is not tasty, but this is a good substitute for those of us who can't go to Mariscos in AP (where they have fresh seafood delivered daily). Try the QuesaBirria tacos or carne asada which are delicious, (even my companion agrees!) Tableside prepared guacamole (per your liking) with warm chips plus salsa is also excellent and fresh. Happy Hour Margaritas are also excellent at a great price! I just hope they continue to sustain the excellence they have strived for so we can continue to dine at least in one good restaurant in SV. Ambiance is good too, with natural light, comfortable booths and tables/chairs (they keep the windows clean and no flies trying to steal your meal!) Note: I realize some other reviews reflect a different experience so all I can do is share my experience.

I really enjoyed the beans they had great flavor and were a great texture. The rice was ok. As for the taco, it's your average taco. Nothing crazy but good! The cheese enchilada was not that great. It felt bland and the sauce was less than ideal. I left not eating the enchiladas or rice. Considering it's AZ Mexican food and I'm from So Cal I went in with no expectations. I would be willing to try this place again and see if other things on the menu are better! However I DO think the price is great for how much food you get! The service was quick and my server was kind. The place was also clean and lively.
