We arrived at 7:00 on Saturday night and there was a two hour wait. Luckily we only waited about 40 minutes. I had friends from out of town with me and they wanted to experience Dick's. When we were seated a guy threw a large sheet of paper at us and told us to set the table. And then 5 menus were thrown into the middle of the table. (This is part of the experience) The guy who threw the menu is "the Dick". He is the one who made the large paper hats. He told us the waitress would take our order and do all of the normal waitress stuff. One person in our party ordered water and beware cause she threw it onto the table. And a whole handful of straws. Ok the food- we ordered the Macho Nachos for an appetizer and they were really good. They had a chili on them that was a bit spicy. It ended ip being the best thing anyone ordered for dinner. I ordered the Hoosier tenderloin with onion rings. ($17) When it arrived a lot of the batter was gone and it was the best part. The pork had no flavor! And the onion rings were ok. They were not hot and there was only four of them. I would not order it again. All of the food was mediocre at best. We went to Dick's last weekend after attending Pop Con ! I've always been afraid to go in because I can be sensitive. It honestly wasn't that bad at all. Our waiter was hilarious and my partner kept trying to one up him. I loved the hats that we got to wear. My partner's said something along the lines of "Elijah Wood if you bought him from dollar tree". Definitely matched the mood for our Saturday. The food was also really good ! I forgot to take photos, but I had their tacos. Would definitely order them again. While we were there, a little boy beside us was celebrating his birthday and the waiter gave his dad whipped topping to "pie" him with. Later, they celebrated a bachelorette and another birthday at the head of the restaurant by chanting "we don't care" and then dropped the lights, started playing pony by ginuwine and gave them a lap dance. Went there with a party of 8. No complaints about the food. I had the blackened chicken and loved the seasoning. My meal came with two sides and since their "steamed broccoli" is soaked in butter and their green beans are "southern style" (aka unhealthy) I ordered a house salad and Caesar salad with no dressing since they were listed as sides. I was told there would be an up-charge, but was fine since a normal side is $5.99 and salads are $6.99...so assumed a $1 up-charge each. Nope...they charged me a $4 up-charge per salad. $8 for two bowls of lettuce instead of the other options is insane. Shame on me for not asking, but shame on them for not publishing it in the menu or being upfront about the cost. I personally think this is being deceitful and for that reason alone I wouldn't go back. As for the rudeness part, it is kind of lame. You can tell every member of the staff had the same training and they have the same lines and mannerisms. Most of it is just over the top throwing things on the table or not letting you ask for "no onions", instead telling you to take it off yourself. Finding naturally sarcastic/funny people is probably challenging though, so they have their niche. I personally wouldn't go unless it's just for the experience. You will either love Dick's Last Resort (DLR)!or you will hate it. The food is good. The ambience is crazy and the waiters are obnoxious and loud. It is what they are famous for; that's their ambiance and style. So be prepared for it. It is a difficult place to have a conversation while eating. We laughed a lot at the waiters antics and had great food, but the interruptions for the traditional DLR chaos was a overwhelming. Our waiter was great and fulfilled his DLR duties. The girl on the phone said there is no way to sign up for a waitlist. There was a 30 min wait for a table. We drive 45 min and see there is a 3 HOUR wait and there is a sign up wait list, able to sign up online. SERIOUSLY? Train the staff better to offer customers a better experience. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! Err, I mean horrible, God awful! Josh was the rudest ever!!! He forced us to wear these large paper hats with his janky handwriting that was a sad attempt to insult us. When the teens would laugh at his attempts at jokes, he acted offended. The restaurant was not busy on a Monday at lunch and yet you would think we were intruding on him by asking him to serve us. Family of 4 dining midweek - all ordered different meals. Not one of us could finish our food. Undercooked eg the Pork tenderloin was raw and runny; the pulled pork smelt off. Do not reccomend we wanted to take our daughter for her 18th birthday tonight and joined the waitlist via the restaurants website which routed us to the Yelp waitlist. We then drive to the restaurant and we were refused service they said they had no tables and the kitchen was backed up. Also when I mentioned the waitlist they said they no longer use the yelp waitlist and the hostess said the manager has tried to cancel that. I know the motif of this restaurant is to insult you in an entertaining way but this was a huge disappointment on her birthday.
