How is this location still in business? Beyond me! Ok where do I start? I've been here a handful of times and every time either I get terrible service or I see someone else being treated horribly by the associates here. My first experience here as I was purchasing something and I thought I had rewards available. I ask the girl to check, she does then tells me that I did so then the girl at the register (with attitude) tells me. "So are you going to use your rewards or not?" I'm like ok maybe that was just that one associate with bad attitude. The associates don't seem to care about about service here. Now this last time, which is what tipped me over the edge to go ahead and write out this review didn't happen directly to me, but to another customer right in front of me. I was in the shoe department looking at some shoes and I saw a lady that looked like she needed help possibly finding a size. There was an associate from another department walking past her so she stopped and asked him for help. The associate told her this, "We are really busy right now, but if you wait around the area the person in the shoe department will come out and help you." He kept walking away from her. I felt bad for the lady and she was furious at his response. She stormed up to the front of the store and told the cashiers something and left. This store is unorganized and a mess. Fixture pieces are left out, stairs are also left unattended on the sales floor. A box full of shipment was left out on floor. The only reason I continue to come here is because it's down the street from home and it's usually because I'm in need of last minute items for camping or hiking. I do love shopping at Dicks Sporting Goods and I also think it's a great store, but not this location. If you absolutely need to come here than you've been warned, if not go to the Cerritos location they're much more helpful there. read more

When I asked him about different shoes and their attributes or short-comings he was able to give me information. I've visited other Dick's locations and this one is pretty much the same. It's organized, has plenty of merchandise, and the employees were nice. On this occasion, I wanted to purchase some on sale items. They employee said they were only able to sell me one, so I decided to go to another location and they said I could buy as much as I wanted. The parking lot is shared by many popular locations, so there could be some issues looking for parking as well. read more

I received some basketball shoes from my wife for Christmas. They were too tight I went to the store to return them. First of all there wasn't a scratch on them but the bottoms had a little dirt and the guy was sweatin me over it. I said well I can wipe off the dirt, he said no it's okay we'll do it this time like he was doing me some big favor. I was going to just exchange them and wanted to go back and look for some different types. The young woman helping me in the basketball section brought me out some shoes then disappeared. I wanted to try some other ones. After about 10 minutes I found her talking to a co-worker. Anyways I left and just got my money back. She seemed more interested in talking then seeing if I needed anything else. Seems like I'm not the only one with a bad experience check out their ratings. Bought a canopy late last year for a sporting event that we were attending. Canopy ended up getting busted. Fast forward to now. Yes months have passed that I didn't exchange it. Time took over and delayed it. Called in and spoke with Taylor. Mentioned to her that I bought the warranty for the canopy but unfortunately lost the paper work. She did mention in the beginning that after 3 months it becomes hard to trace a trail. Understandable and I appreciated her honesty. Asked her how I could go about and exchange it. Didn't want any money back but just a simple exchange. She was polite and told me a process that I could do to get the exchange. Arrived with the old one and was able to get a new one. Ashlee who was very helpful as well showed me how to do a quick registration in case anything would happen to it again. Made the process so simple and I appreciated that she took her time to show me. No complaints from my end, I went into the store with two objectives: 1.) New golf sand wedge (check), the individual working in the golf department quickly greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I found what I wanted and the price was good, they also had a fair selection. 2.) New pair of Nike trainers (check), the individual working the shoe department was busy with other customers, but, she was quick to check on me and see what I needed. I found the Nike shoes that I wanted, and they had my size, so I was happy! They have a wide selection of brands and performance shoes, depending on what your training objective might be. For check-out, at the front of the store, they were quick to get me through the line. I had a good experience and the staff was all friendly, I interacted with 3 different associates during my visit and everyone greeted me with the knowledge and professionalism I expected. Prices are normally full retail but would you rather not have a local brick-and-mortar sporting goods store? And they do have sales as well as a rewards program. There was a man causing a fuss about not being able to use the men's restroom. They were shortstaffed and the manager on duty, Jacob, was assisting me. This man broke a sweat trying to fix my kickstand because the bicycle repair had already left for the day! Regardless, the angry man persistently requested the bathroom with no other acceptable answer other than yes. He continued to ask for Jacob's name on a card to be able to give a poor review. I hope this review counterbalances the upcoming negative one. I kindly reinforced Jacob's suggestion to use another store's facilities to this man since theirs were unusable due to a water leak. I pointed out that it's taking him longer to complain and cause more delays than it would have been to find another restroom. I took a video but I cannot upload it. Thanks Jacob and Dick's staff. Worst customer service ever!!!! Just terrible! If I could give a negative star, I would! We will never go back to this location. NEVER AGAIN! We went to this location to buy a golf cart. I had a 10% off coupon that was only valid online. They couldn't honor it in store so no big deal. One of them suggested that I just purchase it online and do a curbside pick up and it will be available RIGHT AWAY. So I ordered online for curbside pick up. 30 minutes passed and my order status still showed "in process." I went inside the store to check if it was ready. The store was empty by the way. The lady wasn't helpful at all. She was so rude and I was even yelled at. When I told her what my order was, she yelled at me saying "are you sure you ordered at this location? We don't even sell that product here" I insisted they have it and even told her where it was located. She just shrugged off and said "we didn't receive the order yet" So I went back to my car and waited. 2 hours passed and still no update so I went back to the store! I waited 2 hours only to be told they cancelled my order (without notifying me) because they didn't have the color I wanted. I insisted they have it in stock but was told "that's not navy. That's black. All we have is black. It was just mislabeled" I said I'll take the black. He said I have to cancel my order online and reorder. Since they assured me it was already cancelled and I wasn't charged, I decided to just buy it in store. They weren't giving me 10% off so I demanded to see a manager. After explaining the situation to her, she said it was okay to give me the discount. She just left me and didn't tell the associates she was going to honor the 10% off. the cashier didn't give me the discount. I had to explain the situation AGAIN to her. She had to call the incompetent manager Ashley to ask for approval. What Ashley could have at least done as a manager was to tell the cashiers before I could have reached the register. But no! She did nothing at all. No apology was even given. We went home, opened the box and was so frustrated to see what was inside. It was white! Also we found out that we were ripped off. The product was only worth $149.99 but the box was labelled $199.99. And guess what? When we exchanged it, the last stock they had was navy. All along the color we initially ordered was really in stock. TERRIBLE! Avoid going to this location. read more

Very poor customer service. I was looking for an aerobic step online to use for physical therapy at home during the stay at home orders. It does not say the dimensions of the step Dick's Sporting Good's has on their website. I cannot go into the store myself and check because they're only providing curbside pick-up due to stay at home orders. So, I called to see if they could check for me so I would not have to purchase it then return it (very problematic during stay at home orders if even possible). The clerk that answered the phone clearly did not want to be bothered. The conversation went something like this: Me: (explained situation about needing a wide enough step and not knowing the dimensions) I wanted to know the dimensions before purchasing the product, but I can't go in store to check. Clerk: Well, if it doesn't say on the website it won't say the dimensions on the box either. Me: It won't? Clerk: No, you're talking about the exercise belt right? Me: No, I'm talking about the aerobic step like they use in aerobic class. I use it to do my physical therapy at home. (I explained again that I need one that is wide enough for the exercises and many that I am finding online are too narrow.) The clerk was obviously annoyed, but looked it up online. Then says again that if it doesn't say online it won't say on the box. At this point I was getting frustrated and I asked the clerk if I should just look elsewhere. All of the sudden, the clerk says quickly and with urgency (several times): " I gotta go, I gotta go, I gotta go!" I was silent at first because the tone of the clerk's voice suggested an emergency. For a second I thought they were being robbed or there was a medical emergency. But then the clerk says, "I gotta go! I gotta go! There's lots of phone calls coming in right now and there are only two of us here!" Hangs up. What the heck? I won't be shopping here again anytime soon. I also thought the manager should know about this. I understand the circumstances - that stores may be short staffed right now, but really? There is no excuse for this kind of dismissive and rude behavior. read more

I used the online order Sunday night and am wearing the item I ordered already. I cant speak to the store so much but the online shopping with free delivery is fast and easy. I ordered a similar hat from NBA.com and the free shipping took 3 weeks, the one from Dicks took a day and a half. I will use them again and recommend them to folks I know. read more

The staff are great and making themselves available and offering to help us find some knee braces that we were looking for. Worst customer service in this store by far. Stood in the shoe section for about 20 mins trying to flag someone down at 2pm this afternoon. Finally caught a girl in a red T-shirt and asked regarding a pair of shoes I saw in their ad. All black nikes that look almost identical to the ones I'm wearing that were on sale for 45.00. Without even considering it, "unless you have the ad I can't find them for you." She didn't even offer to help me. She just stood there staring at me blankly. I get that you don't know all the products in your store, but at least offer to help find them. I put back everything else I was going to purchase and went elsewhere. I was in the store two days ago to purchase a collapsible wagon. I read some assembly required. Asked a employee what needs to be assembled, his reply was you pull the sides to open up the wagon. Got home to check it out. He was wrong, I had to attach the wheels to the wagon. It was a struggle to put them in. I used the wagon yesterday. The store overall is nice but the checkout is the worst. I'm in line with 5 or 6 people and 1 checkout person, and that person is doing a complicated return. Two more employees show up to help on the return, but no one opens a second checkout. Their customer service at checkout is always the worst. So ive been searching and shopping for a rifle safe for the past couple months and have had a pretty tough time to say the least with the order process in the Cerritos store and online. After ordering a safe in Cerritos two weeks ago it was supposed to be delivered to my house but i got a paper mail notification on the day of my supposed delivery saying that the safe was no longer being offered. So i went over to the Huntington Beach store to try to order something else online but to no avail. The online customer service just doesn't have it together but to keep a long story short i would like to the the 3 manager girls that helped me finally purchase a safe and for fixing a difficult problem. Thank you Ashley, Cloe and Francesca you three are the best and most patient and understanding managers there is. Again thank you for fixing that crazy ordering issue i brought to you. Great place for everyone to purchase stuff... Golf ball pricing is more than reasonable. They even have a steamer for your brand new softball baseball glove. It's a great way to break in your glove.
