The cashier and especially the manager can show a little pride and work just a tad faster. I don't think they are ringing up orders fast enough to pay for the cashiers hourly wage. One cashier with 7 people in line. The manager just standing around looking at the line and doing nothing. read more

I had to go in to get that tag that's attached to clothing so you cant steel it removed, it was accidently left on there from an online order. Highly disappointed with my shopping experience today I had asked for help to find specific gear from a young man. He proceeded to tell me in what area he thought they were in and did not show me where they were at. I asked a few times if they had a specific gear in a certain area and he said not really it's kind of all over the store, which is also not helpful. But as soon as my husband asked for help for where the specific type of the gear was, he was very helpful, so it was very rude at the fact that he didn't help me just because I was a female, but proceeded to go above and beyond to help a male which was my husband. read more

I wanted a better experience. Although the person who retrieved my prepaid order was extremely friendly and helpful, when I got home the item was damaged and had to be returned. I called immediately but I was told I have to return it. it's possible but only with great difficulty for the elderly to do that but not nearly as easy as it is for the people who have no clue how hard it can be seniors. it could have been handled better if the item was inspected at some point in the store long before bigger issues resulte. read more

Rating would be a negative star. Tacky employees. Only 1 young lady spoke and offered help and she just happened 2 be the one outside shoveling snow when I walked out. There was no way I was about 2 spend a dime after employees almost walked into me because he was on his phone. In short, unfriendly staff that like to follow you around instead of offering assistance. That's a better way of preventing someone is stealing by the way jackasses. Never again!! read more

This was a ridiculous experience, I called first asked to see if they had what I needed. They assured me they did Carhartt coveralls. I asked that 2 pair be put up. I drive from Oak Park to this store because it was the only one that had them. So I get there only to find out it was not at all what I asked for. They were the overalls. The football section is great. I picked up one of them pigskins and I threw that baby a quarter mile. I was out with my son today looking for new bikes. We were greeted right away and were walked back to the bike area with Todd. He helped both my son and I found the right bike for us. We said we needed to take a minute to think about it. He said no problem and placed a hold on the bikes for us. We can back 15 minutes later and made the purchases. He did a full inspection, filled the tires and added a kickstand on my son's bike. Todd even helped load the bikes into our vehicle. Thank you again for a great shopping experience. read more

Here is the email I sent to Dick's about my pitiful experience: I was extremely frustrated with my recent experience in attempting to order online then pick up in your Middlebelt Livonia store. I placed an order for 1 pack of 8 cans of tennis balls online at 3:13pm on a Monday. The email I received after placing the order advised that it would take 2 hours to fill the order. I waited for the email that would notify me that my order was ready, but it never came. At nearly the 4 hour post order mark, 7:10 pm, I entered the store to pick up my item. I met Josh, a cashier, who was the least helpful person I have encountered in some years. I told him I had ordered online 4 hours ago and while I had not received an email telling me the order was ready, I assumed that was an oversight and it likely was ready. He said, "well, if you haven't gotten the email, it isn't ready" and acted like I should leave the store until the email was received. I told him, "it is just tennis balls", it shouldn't take 4 hours. He then took my name and talked to the people in the back of the store. He provided no feedback and I waited several minutes. He then asked for my phone, reviewed the order email for some time, and told the people in the back it hasn't quite been 4 hours. It was 3 hours and 57 minutes. He told me it can take 4 hours. I said, the email says 2 hours. He said it can take 4. I said that isn't what the email says. It doesn't say that anywhere in the email. We continued in this nonsensical loop a while longer. He then offered me to go to the shelf and pick up the balls myself, without even pointing me in the right direction. I would like to note, I ordered online to avoid walking around the store, finding an item and going through the checkout process. I then found some balls that were not exactly the balls I ordered and returned to the checkout. Josh was nowhere to be found. I started telling my situation to the other cashier and then a person who I assume was the manager, materialized with my tennis balls and told me that the order had gotten held up in the system and he had pushed it through. I left with the correct tennis balls. In the end, after a lot of hassle, things worked out. But, when I came in after 4 hours had lapsed, Josh's response should not have been that it hasn't been 4 hours, which is not the time frame noted anywhere in the email, and he should have just gotten me the tennis ball or gotten someone in the back to get the tennis balls. It is not like I ordered 47 different items and came in 3 minutes later. It was one item 4 hours later. I didn't order online to be hassled by some minimum wage clown or to be walk around the whole store in search of the item I had already ordered. As the order was held up, and that wasn't my fault, the correct course of action would have been to troubleshoot it, produce the tennis balls and send me on my way. It would have taken him 2 minutes to get the balls and I would have been satisfied, instead, we spent at least 10 minutes going back and forth. He needs to learn the value of people's time. The fact that his time is of no value does not mean that my time is of no value. Also, due to the fact that the order was held up, I could have been waiting till my death for the email to arrive. Josh may be the least proactive "associate"I have encountered in years and I worked as a cashier at a marine store during my entire 4 years of college, so this is not some scenario where I don't understand the job. I think you need to improve your customer service training. Obviously, I won't be returning to Dick's for any reason. I can shop a lot of other places and receive far superior service. Also, I will be posting this on all social media outlets to warn others. read more
