Very few employees, good luck catching one. None of them know where anything is and basically just send you away or online.

This place is a perfect example of why big box stores are closing down. Went in on Friday afternoon looking for some golf clubs as I had won a gift card in a raffle at a golf outing. There was no one working in the golf area, or anywhere else one the floor that I could see. Went to the cash register and asked if they could get someone to help me in the golf department. 15 minutes later still no help. Saw a well dressed gentleman with a portfolio in his hand and asked if he worked there, he laughed and said no, he was there for an interview. We spoke for a moment and he was nicer than any of the employees. Finally I had enough after being in the store close to half an hour without being helped. Decided I would just use the gift card to buy golf balls, and wouldn't you know it the ones I wanted were locked up. Went back to the cashier who was tapping on her phone and asked for someone to unlock the case and get the balls for me. She said she would call someone, lol, I had enough and left. Will just regift the card. Funny thing as well, when I left there I went to another store and got a few things I needed then I ran into the gentleman I had spoke to earlier and asked him how his interview went. He laughed and said he waited over 45 minutes and no one ever came to speak with him. Told him he was probably better off and he readily agreed. Will never set foot in one their stores ever again. Spent my money down the street and received excellent service. read more

A week ago, I purchased three $40 Nike water bottles. After using them for a couple of days, I noticed that one of the bottles was leaking, while the others were perfectly fine. I returned to the store to request an exchange, but they refused, stating that because the bottle had been used, they couldn't take it back. I explained that the leak was due to a defect and not my fault, but they said they couldn't resell it since it had no tags and had already been used. This didn't sit well with me, as I was sold a defective item, and they should have exchanged it and properly handled the faulty product. I'm not one to argue, but given that I paid $40 per bottle, I expected better service. I won't be shopping at this overpriced store again! read more

This store has everything you can think of for the athletic and non athletic. Good customer service.

A good spot to update your gym gear including water bottles, home gym stuff, workout clothing, shoes, etc. My favs are Nike and VRST (kinda like Lululemon). They also carry Underarmor and a few other brands as well if that's your thing. Shoe section is pretty extensive and worth checking out to try on your size if you're unsure about purchasing online. Staff is chill and helpful. It's also worth stopping by the nearby Nordstrom Rack as well to peruse their workout clothing as well. read more

BEWARE! When staff in shoe department scan the shoe you want they bring you a higher price shoe that is similar and do not tell you. We had to ask them 3 different times to bring us the shoe WE wanted; even after THEY scanned the shoe and were well aware of what we were requesting! If you bring a different shoe let the customer know that what is requested is not available! When size we wanted was not in store they said they could order for us online in the store. When ordering the shoe, they ordered the higher priced similar shoe. When I saw the receipt I realized the price difference. THEN they proceeded to say WE had to call customer service ourselves for refund since the shoe had already been ordered. The manager, Emily, shared that unfortunately this is their process. If THEY order online for you in store (and are dishonest) YOU the customer are required to manage the refund. You have to call Dick's customer service, you cannot deal with anyone in the store! My wife sent me on a mission to pick up a yoga/pilates exercise mat and I was very quickly directed to the back area of the story where I found about six different choices. I narrowed it down to two and did the intelligent thing: attempted to call my wife to describe (or take pictures of) the choices. She, naturally, had her phone silenced and so I did the next intelligent thing: I bought both, after Winnie ("Like in Winnie The Pooh") assured me there would be no problem returning one as long as it had not been used and I had the receipt. I brought the two home and my wife quickly chose the one I didn't think she would have. So...very glad I hadn't gone with my first instinct! I brought the unchosen one back and Winnie welcomed me with an open register and quickly issued the refund. She could not have been more helpful or efficient. They had all the football gear I needed for my son . The workers help but mind there own business your not getting stalked or mirrored in the store the whole time . The shoe department actually has a great selection of shoes and most of them are in stock which is really rare . They have a great selection of what ever it was that we needed . The lady at the register Cameron was especially a huge help she directed us in the right direction with a few questions I had in the store . Overall clean store lots of parking and lots to chose from even the styles of clothes they carry there's no need to go to the mall .. read more

I was worried I would not have anything to show for the Laker's win this week, so I dropped by Dick's and saw everything was still available! I decided on a finals shirt, as I'm not a hat person. All clothing is NBA approved and legitimate. I have to admit, I wanted to buy everything in the store, but let willpower win over my decision-making. I'm so happy LA has at least one winning team, and hopefull two, by the end of October. This time, I'll be sure to come to Dick's first! read more

Please be aware this store is selling used shoes and perhaps other items as well for full price. I had some Hoka shoes that were brand new and worn one time. They hurt my feet and two different store managers told me if they can't put them back to sell they won't return them. They told me if I can clean the bottom of the shoes they would take them back and resell them. On good faith I left the shoe bottoms as they were to be an honest person. It seems that profit over people is more important to this store. Who knows what else is being sold as used for full price. Buyer beware. read more

Our daughter is just getting started in multiple sports. I spent hundreds of dollars at Dick's 2 weeks ago on softball stuff. The pants I bought her were too big, so I went to exchange them today. They are brand-new, never worn, with all tags, and the price on them. I lost the receipt, but was hoping I could just exchange for a smaller size, or at the very least, store credit. I also had my online credit card statement showing the day I bought them (and a lot of other things). Nope. They only offered me $3 credit (the lowest price the pants had ever sold for in the store); I paid $25 plus 10.25% tax. Tried multiple ways to talk logic, but had no luck - the best I got was a manager literally phoning it in over the walkie reiterating this policy. I will never return. We are only one family, but as our daughter enters sports, we are looking at hundreds to thousands of dollars of stuff over the coming years. Dick's will get none of it again. Sad they would lose a customer over something so dumb and minimal. Judging by the other reviews here, management does not care, and will not reach out or respond. That's too bad because it takes so little effort to be good at what you do. read more

I hate hate hate writing bad reviews but my biggest pet peeve is bad customer service. It's ok if a store doesn't have what you need or are looking for but when the employees aren't nice or helpful it just kills me. Walked in and was not greeted by anyone. Walked around the store twice and couldn't find what I was looking for, Finally got someone's attention to ask for assistance and all they did was point me in the direction as the continued walking away. Now getting frustrated I saw an older gentleman sitting in the golf section and had to ask him if he could walk me over and show me exactly where the item was, it's a pretty big item but they had it stuffed all the way in the back of the store literally in a corner before he left I had to have him check the prices because nothing was tagged. Before leaving I thought I would look for one last thing but I wished I had not, I should of just kept walking out. I was looking for simple running gloves and no one seemed to know, they kept calling and asking someone named Maribel over he radio. Maribel give 3 different locations as to where they can be in the store, as I walked around and looked still nothing. So again I asked and another employee said they were all out. This is the part I leave and probably won't come back, mind you this was my first time in the store as well. read more

This Dick's Sporting Goods is very well organized. Things are always neatly on the shelf and generally tend to be in size order. Most of the staff here are very helpful. The reason for four stars instead of five is because on occasion, there is someone not helpful or with an attitude. This happened to me two weeks ago when I was there. But I decided to wait to do the review until I came again. Leann is a terrific sales associate! Very friendly and knowledgeable about the products and services. I went in for some soccer cleats for my son. They didn't have much selection but I accept that because of the times. The guy helping choose shoes was overwhelmed with customers but did his best to help us find some shoes. At checkout, a guy named Adrian helped us. He acted as if I was a big bother and was very rude. Didn't really acknowledge us and after handing our shoes over, he gave no thanks, good bye, have a good day or even tell us to get lost. This comes from upper management. Poor service and customer support is learned behavior. I hope they clean up management and the poor help but it's the second issue I had with Dick's. The front cashier named Jose assisted me with the return. I purchased a pair of shoes for my son for soccer. However, I didn't realize until they arrive that they were for turf only. Emily, what a terrible cashier person. She is so rude, angry, and so unpleasant. I should've read the reviews and stayed far away from this location and person. She was shaming my dad for making purchases with his health benefit card. After she was done shaming him she said "this is between you and god". Like wtf is wrong with her? The 3 month warranty policy is absurd I bought a cooler and 1 month in I noticed that the ice was melting into like warm water in one day even with cooler being under shade and twice the wheels fell off so I took it to my nearest store and they would not give me store credit or return it for false advertisement the cooler says on the label that the ice will be up to 4 days and the store worker said the cooler was already used and he wouldn't be able to return the cooler pathetic service read more

Josh the store manager is the epitome of the great leader. When the employees fell short in term of customer service , he stepped up and made sure to make it right. Some were in a hurry to leave at the end of the shift which i understand in principle but they should finish the task first. Enough said, the store manager made up for the rest . They have a very nice selection of Nike and Addidas outfits some on sale ( not the case at the Nike flagship store at the Grove ) but I would skip their table tennis equipment as it is lacking and what they have ( Prince) is not meaningful. The machine for the tennis rackets cords was broken (!) without a date in sight. This 4 star review was earned by the store manager who i say it again is the best guy ever. Basically the online store pick up was the most unsmoothed experience ever, the older black lady at the check out not only asked me if I was picking up for DoorDash, but after finding out I wasn't doing DoorDash, she check my name, my order number on my phone, also check my ID, also asked me to sign something, I felt like I was booking into county jail instead of picking up a order at dick's sporting good! First time in this location. What a customer service disaster. Met the greater at the front and asked where badminton sets were. She points to the right side of the store. I search over there for 10 minutes with my kids and...nothing. So we give up and go to the next thing I need, which is a Blackburn Trainer. The guy in the bicycle shop has no clue. He wants a picture so I show him and he's still clueless. Then he looks down and there it is. The box is shredded and I say, "Is this discounted? It looks terrible." He says, "No it's brand new". JFC, the box is shredded and the thing is hanging out. I ask him again, "Isn't this an open box item?" "No", he says. So I give up on that thing because I'm not buying open box at full price. It is hard to believe, Dick's has very unreasonable return policy, Not easy!!!! I had very bad experience. I ordered a pair of shoes from Dick's. After with one day walking, my back was hurting. So I cleaned the shoes up , wiped down and went to Dick's store to return. The staff in the store didn't let me return , with their very coldness voice and said they allowed to return only the shoes is wearing inside, so they don't accept my return just because I wore it only ONE day! I couldn't totally understand, how do you know the shoes is comfortable or not if you don't wear it for walking?
