The 5/5 star review is for the great Customer Service by Nick. I was here on Sunday and was not happy primarily with the Customer Service. I had issues getting the Buy 1, Get 1, 50% Off Sale applied to my purchase and then had to wait additional time to get my husband's Military Discount. Regardless, it was a good deal, so I came back to get 2 more Shorts the following day. When it was time to pay, there was no issue applying the sale, but we noticed the amounts didn't match when they should've been the same . Nick was able to see that in the previous purchase only a 5% and not a 10% Military Discount had been applied, so he made the necessary adjustments. I didn't even have to ask, he just made it right. What a difference from the Customer Service I recieved on Sunday. I hope somebody in management reads this review and rewards Nick for the awesome job! read more

I placed an order online for pick up today. They were the only store in town that had what I was looking for, shoes and clothing sizes in stock and also available for same day delivery! I had already sent my order in when I saw they offer that service! I'll totally keep that in mind for the future. I was able to take advantage of extra sales by placing my order via online and curbside was available. I checked in for curbside online and parked in spot #4, updated my spot and my order was brought out to me in less than five minutes. Their prices were a better deal than the other stores in the area. I will definitely be returning in the near future. With my kids and their sports I'm glad that this process was painless. I hate shopping with the crowds especially during the holiday season. With my busy work schedule and balancing my life these days, I've purchased most of my gifts online or shipped to my doorstep. I'm glad if I need something for my kids, I can have it brought out to me or to my door for an additional $10. Thank you Dick's for offering these extra services and the ease of ordering online. I walked in planning to drop a ton on new gear here and the customer service was nonexistent. I stood in the footwear department for about 20 minutes waiting for any employees to come out but yet nobody did the whole time i was there. When i finally went up to the employees at the register, they were chatting and completely ignored me. Scored on buying myself a birthday present today. Got a pretty expensive pair of athletic shoes that were on sale and love them. Service could be a little better. Seems like a couple of "kids" that work there didn't want to be there all. Not a welcoming demeanor, and they mumbled, which for a HOH person like me, was kind of difficult. I had the worst experience with Dicks sporting goods. I had bought a softball bag a few months ago for my granddaughter. She had used it 3 times and the hook/strap had torn off. I tried to return the bag and was treated with such disrespect from the lead cashier! He told me I could get a 10.00 gift card even though I paid 34.99. He was extremely rude to me. I will never shop here again and will give all my business to Scheels were they have a much better return policy and their employees are professional and treat you with respect. read more

I hadn't been in Dick's Sporting Goods for several years because I had such a poor experience the one time I went that I swore I would never return. That has been changed after my last visit. The service was helpful and the store was laid out in such a way that it made you want to shop. I thought the pricing was better than what you can find at Scheels and they seem to have a wide variety of things to choose from. I felt like I got the best deal and they were helpful in arranging delivery and set up (for a fee), but even that was not difficult. I really like that they do not sell assault rifles and other things that can modify guns into assault weapons. read more

Went with my wife to check out treadmills and found one that was highly rated on CNN. The price on the device was $999 but the article on the CNN website said $900. The manager wasted no time in allowing us to get the lower price, which was surprising as we haven't always gotten those type of deals from other stores. He showed us the other treadmills (great selection) and explained each of their benefits. We ended up with the one we targeted at the beginning. The overall experience was five-stars. Went today to get baseball stuff for kids. There was a big ladder blocking all the helmets, ended up moving it myself because not an employee in sight. I had a stroller and couldn't even push it anywhere because there was stuff everywhere on the floors. Not just from customers, actual boxes of product opened and strewn about. I went in another aisle behind the batting cages and an employee was on a ladder hanging backpacks. There were backpacks everywhere on the ground and she put up a few then walked away. I couldn't get around the ladder because of all the bags everywhere. She didn't even say a word to me when I said, "I need to get over there to grab a backpack." So I picked up a bunch of on the floor backpacks and moved them to get by. She got off her ladder after I passed her and just walked away, leaving the ladder and the disaster. We needed help on a few things and not a soul was around to help. (Except ladder abandon girl who ignored me haha). I've never made a review for a store like this but today was so messy and disorganized we will take the drive to scheels next time without even thinking twice. I like to be able to walk in aisles that's pretty nice. Whoever manages this place needs to reach out to scheels for some tips. We won't be back. read more

Inventory was not updated when I ordered a pick up in store order, but this is not unique to this location. This has happened to me before at another Dick's Sporting Goods location in another state. Thankfully I was able to go to the aisle, find what I was looking for, and get the store manager to match the price of what I ordered (and was cancelled prematurely due to inventory inconsistencies in the computer.) This took longer than I wanted to spend at the store that day but in the end the manager made it right. read more

Went to get a few headlamps. Had to track down an employee because they were locked, employee said she had to get someone with keys. Waited for help, no one came. On our way out, there was an employee just standing at the front doing nothing & two other employees chatting together at the register as we approached the checkout, who also weren't busy helping anyone. We were hoping this would be a good place to shop for our sporting goods. It would have been if they took care of the customers returns but they didn't for us. We bought our son a helmet and glove for t-ball but he ended up not playing due to his age and ability to stay focused on the game. The glove and Helmet never got used so we tried to return it. When we got to the store they were unable to pull the receipt because used Apple Pay. Be warned not to use Apple Pay. The manager came out and couldn't care less to help. Told is to call corporate to get a receipt. I called corporate and a month later still no receipt or email as to what's happening. read more

Dicks sporting good is a great place to go for athletic items. The store connected to the mall is great. The parking lot it huge. Inside the store it is organized. Everything has a place and it is sorted by activities. It is clean throughout the store and easy to locate anything. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When purchasing a large item, a staff member went into detail about the item and talked about the warranties provided. They also helped us out to our car!!! At first they asked us to pull the vehicle up to the doors but we were already in front!!! If it's so good why give a 4 star you say. Well some of there items I feel is pretty pricey. You just have to keep an eye out for the deals! read more

What a difference an employee can make to customer service. Hoping to get my husband custom made golf clubs (he is 6' 5" so he needs to be fitted for clubs). We went in on Saturday to see about purchasing a set of clubs. We sought out help as no one was in the golf section. To our amazement 4 employees came to help us including the manager Josh. But not one of them had the expertise to size and fit a club. Josh informed us that the golf expert would be in on Sunday. Saturday's experience was overwhelmingly positive. We returned on Sunday. We again went to the golf desk and talked to the employee there. We told him we were there to get fitted for a new set of clubs. He seemed put out and demeaning. He asked in a condescending tone "How often do you play?" the answer a couple of times a month and less than I'd like. He asked "How long have you played?" my husband answered "Most of my life." "What clubs are you looking to purchase?" My husband replied that he wanted to look at Calloway, Ping and TaylorMade clubs. He was told that the employee's could only order direct from the factory TaylorMade. Then he said "You will just have to wait your turn". He was at his desk when we approached him and had no idea he was helping other customers. Waiting our turn was not the issue. We waited for approximately 15 minuets and discussed the employee's tone and demeanor. I had noticed that the employee was wearing a TaylorMade cap. Dick's has Calloway and Ping club's why can't they order either of these clubs. That doesn't make sense to me. This employee only wanted to show us TaylorMade. We decide this kind of customer service was just not for us. We went else where and purchased direct from the factory a beautiful set of Calloway golf clubs with a driver. read more

It is OK and fills the hole in the full-service sports wear market in the mall. I like how it is organized by sport and men's and women's gear and clothing are together. It really makes sense. It is also very open and light and the merchandise is not all crammed together. The staff don't have a huge presence. We stopped in once just to look around. My husband was looking for some sweatshirts, but didn't find any he liked. We came back another day with our son to get some workout shoes. The first time we were pretty much ignored by staff - not a problem as we were mostly looking. My son got taken care of and an appropriate pair of shoes for his very very large feet was found. Went during the grand opening because i had a coupon. Will I return? I just don't know. I found golf pants $80-110 very expensive. And since golf clothes and equipment is all I really need, they will certainly need to send me more coupons. It was their grand open, so the store was fairly crowded. Many of the employees were actually from out state stores just helping out. There were plenty on hand. But the new employees couldn't answer any coupon stacking questions. He said you'll just have to go to check out and find out. Thank heavens the line wasn't long. Come to find out I was able to take a two for the price of one sale and add a $10 off to it. Nice. The store is located on the south side of Meadowood Mall. Another reason I probably won't frequent it. I seldom do the mall. It has an inside mall entrance and an out one. Let me begin by saying that we began our adventures this evening on Dick's "soft opening". Not sure if I meant to throw an innuendo in there, but it appears to of just happened. This was the very first day of business for the sporting goods giant. The store is exceptionally clean and well organized by sport category, clothing or accessory. Make no mistake, the stores location will give healthy competition to the other stores in the greater Reno Sparks area. The overwhelming feeling that I got while spending about 45 minutes walking around the store, was that Dick's seems like a cleaner and nicer version of Sports Authority. I mean REALLY similar Sports Authority if you take the newness of the store away. Same brands, very similar items and selection abound the sales floor. Upon further investigation, it looks as though the only actual common denominator is that Dick's Inc. purchased a database of 114 million customer records including 25 million email addresses for marketing, promotional and demographic purposes from Sports Authority. Overall, all of the employees presented well and we were greeted several times and asked what we might be looking to find tonight. Didn't really have an opportunity to test the "knowledge base" of the employees, but was impressed to see everyone enjoying their first day of business. We were advised that we really needed to attend the weekend Grand Opening festivities as there were numerous discounts and freebies available as well as drawings and athlete appearances. Pricing seemed appropriate with some enticing sale items located throughout the store. Some prices higher than what I thought they should be while others were lower...and some were just right. Does Dick's have everything? No, not in store, but you may be able to find it at their online kiosk. Otherwise, you might have to try another sporting goods brick and mortar location in town. I think this is a nice addition to the mall in what has been a less lively section of parking lot for years. The parking lot striping arrows and general flow are a little jacked up when you incorporate cars, pedestrian traffic and the nearby bus terminal. read more

You guys by far have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I have been on hold for over an hour multiple times trying to get in touch with someone that can actually help me. I called to cancel an order literally 20 minutes after it was placed. I got no confirmation of the order being canceled, the money was pulled right away and a few days later I got a confirmation that the order had been shipped. I called customer service AGAIN to be told there was zero record of me canceling the order and that I can refuse the purchase when it comes but I'll still have to pay for the 200$ shipping. I will never order or buy anything from you guys again. I will be disputing the charge with my bank for fraud. read more

Both my boys play lacrosse and needed equipment. I knew nothing about the sport and in a day and age where I'm buying more and more from Amazon it was EXTREMELY helpful to be able to go into the store and ask questions. They have an employee that plays college lacrosse that was amazing. We've been back several times and he's always been there to help. Yea, we may have spent a few extra bucks but the help he's given us is invaluable. I called for a Butane gas beforehand to make sure I wasn't driving all the way to Reno for nothing. I was in Truckee heading to Plumas and Reno was out of the way, but considering how desperate I needed butane for backpacking, I called to make sure Dick's had them on stock before I drove there. The associate said yes they have them, but when I arrived the 2 people at the counter were clueless as to what butane was so they referred me to Keenan, a manager. He walked me to where the propane canisters were and said "yeah we don't have butane." "Well somebody said you had them that's why I drove all the way here from Truckee." I said. Without even an apology he goes, "yeah, you can try Walmart." I wasted gas and I got duped. I hope karma gets these people. read more
