The Customer Service was terrible. Today was the first day opened since the Corona Virus has hit and my GF and I went in ready to spend some money. We had intentions on getting two Bikes and a basketball hoop. The Male working in the bike section had seen us and didn't help us, didn't acknowledge us. Didn't even say I'm busy give me a few minutes....nothing. Then the lady in the basketball area, I asked her for some help picking out a portable hoop for the house. Her advice...."just buy it online." Like what the heck kind of service is that? And then on the way out...I asked the man upfront where can I find some badminton stuff for my daughter. He says go to the back left, which is what I did and back left had pool and camping equipment. No badminton in site. It was pretty surreal. So I contacted customer service letting them know about everything and attached was their response to me. It's like Dicks doesn't value customers and doesn't care. I would never recommend this place. Incredibly terrible service!! I bought a bike that needed service a week after I bought it and after 4 weeks of being given the runaround i finally spoke to Jose who took care of my problem. Most of the issue came from the manager Cole! He is not friendly and when I came in to pick up a replacement bike he never acknowledged me or apologized for the awful service I received. Jose, on the other hand, was the only one after several calls who not only immediately rectified the issue but was very apologetic. Please fire Cole and promote Jose! read more

I have spent over $5k here at this store this year alone. I have never experienced anything close to what I experienced today at all the locations I have been to all over CA. I just purchased a brand new mountain bike to take to Tahoe next weekend and came in to get it serviced at the bike service area and immediately the manager Kristen walks over very rude old grumpy lady at least 70 years old and says why is this bike here and so on. So you can already tell me not saying anything yet she is already coming with a very bad vibe. I ask if I can get it serviced here and she tells me with the most unpleasant way possible NO SERVICE IS ON WEDNESDAY. As if I just asked her the most ridiculous request. I continue to do my shopping and just walking in the store security guard Paul Blart says to me the checkout is this way I then ask him if he can watch my bike while I do my shopping he says yes. Turns out Paul Blart took my bike rack and when I get to the checkout get this they bring over the bike rack and tell me I have to pay for it lol. The person I asked to watch my bike now is stealing stuff from me. I show them my receipt and tell them I just purchased this bike rack from target. Kristen the manager is not a very nice person and not manager material. Very unpleasant and rude. At least look at the camera footage before you accuse me but that just shows the character of the person, no normal person behaves this way. Not to sure why the reviews are so low! I have been here multiple times and every visit shelves are stocked, prices are fair, and quality of equipment and products are perfect! All the staff I have come across have great customer service and I always feel welcomed here. I particularly would like to compliment the gentleman who works in the golf department. I don't recall his name but I have seen him twice for two different occasions and he has been helpful and friendly for both times. I have been coming to dick's mainly for golf gear and golf gear usually are not very cheap but Dick's always has great deals on sale/clearance. I found items usually worth $50-$70 on clearance for $10-$20! Can't wait for my next visit! read more

When these guy's first opened the service was outstanding. Every employee had a smile on their face, greeted you kindly and was knowledgeable about where you could find specific items. Today I had one of those experiences where you have to just shake your head and wish there were other big sporting-goods stores to shop at. What is it with Millennials these days? This woman just had no customer service sense-ability whatsoever. She greets me with silence, does a few other things to assist other cashiers then returns to attend to me as though I was inconveniencing her. Being completely honest, I came here to pick something up and it was pretty quick. But the employees were friendly and quick working. Friendly meaning that they actually talked to me for more than 2 minutes *lol*. The store is well stocked and clean and the store has a huge variety. I came here for a pair of shorts, maybe some shoes if I was really feeling myself. Grabbed my stuff and couldn't find an employee anywhere. The store was a ghost town; felt like I missed the rapture. Stood around for 10 minutes until out of thin air a worker appeared like a genie. The workers are nice, but the store is the size a mini- mall and they got 2 people out there working . Had me walking around the store holding my shorts looking around corners of the store like I was in Scooby-doo. Looked like a lost kid looking for his mom. Screw you Dicks. Screw you. Have had multiple problems with this location. The most recent one is last night. The woman i was with asked me to come with her to this location after she picked me up from my doctors appointment and wait at the pharmacy because she's had people try to take her purse in the parking lot previously. She's been scared to shop in that complex since. She went shopping for sweat pants and i went to the bathroom. After followed her in some long haired guy comes up to demand i put my bag with all my prescriptions behind the counter. He came up on my side and said in a soft creepy voice "hey you look like an honest guy but you're going to have to put your bag behind the counter" After a bit of back and forth he screams out "i didn't touch you!". The woman I'm with is freaking out because she's already afraid to shop in that location and she couldn't hear him. We left after that and she's convinced that "another creepy guy" was trying to hit on me and that she's next. I didn't argue because I just want to go home and curl up in bed to sleep. she's too scared to go shopping there again Btw I would suggest someone give that long haired guy a covid test because i was at doctors appointment and pharmacy before that and i'm not feeling too good. read more

Bought a bbq here and when I got it home it and ready to put together the grill had been used, there where parts missing, the wheels had wear on them, so it was obviously a used and returned bbq they tried to pass off and sell as new. When I called they just said bring it back and you'll have to drive to Fremont for a replacement one that's new. No compensation offered. Everyone at this location has no professional training worst dicks location I've ever been to. No one trained to help I checked online since no one was willing to help once I found what I needed online I went back up to the front where a clerk talked to me as if I was in high school. Well the great thing is they sell firearms! But, what I went there for was a bike tube. In fact 4 bike tubes. They had maybe 5 different sizes and a total of 20? tubes there. Went by today to get my CO2 tank refilled, I checked in with the cashier and they called the department in the back to make sure someone was around to fill my tank and sent me back. Ok. We are in San Jose and especially the suburbs. We also have a Major League Soccer team in town with a new stadium and nothing to represent the Quakes team. The families have kids that play soccer and it's a wave you can't stop. The selection of soccer related clothing is abysmal compared with Sports Authority. A quarter of the store is stocked with fishing and hunting equipment. They must know no one around here fishes unless you want to die eating mercury infused fish in the local reservoirs. Also, a Bass Pros Shop is just down the street. Three stars because the golf section was nice and the layout of the store was nice enough. If you are looking for shoes not much selection under $100. Robert and Isaiah are your go to people for the bike department. My husband and i walked into the store looking to purchase bikes. It was our first experience purchasing a bike, and the first employee that assisted us, Brian, was not helpful at all. He limited himself to showing us the price on the bikes and stated talking with a friend on the side. I felt unsure about purchasing the bike because nothing was explained to me regarding what bike would be the best fit for us. Regardless we purchased the bikes after standing around and reading reviews online. We came back an hour later to pick up the bikes and to my surprise had a completely different experience. Robert and Isaiah retrieved the bikes for us, showed us how to use the gears, let us ride the bikes and gave us tips on trails to start riding on. I wish i would have waited for Robert to sell us the bikes. Over all, had we not had such a dull experience with Brian, we would have given 5stars. Thank you Robert and Isaiah! Customer service training needed at this store. Returned an online purchase in the store. The refund price was coming up less than the purchase price. I was told that if I get an item to exchange, I would get full purchase price. Not a problem since I was planning to get something anyway. After getting my items I went to check out, but they would only credit me the lower amount. Even after talking with a manager they refused to credit the full amount. Considering I've made several purchases at Dick's over the past few months (mix of online and in store), it seems really stupid to lose a customer over $9. We bought a bike and asked that it be held so that we could go get our other vehicle to transport it. First, just buying the bike was a hassle since the cashier decided that instead of just walking back to ask the bike section a question she would spend 5 minutes trying to get them on the headset. It wasn't until my husband said he would go back there that she went. We finally purchased the bike and given the receipt and off to get our other car. Upon returning to the store and waiting a while in line I got to the register and explained to them that I had a bike on hold. The manager decides to take over and wouldn't let me take the bike because she couldn't find their paperwork. Although, I had my receipt, my ID and the bike had a tag on it with my name. Should have been an easy process, however, it was a 30 minute ordeal. She uses her headset trying to contact the bike section instead of walking back there. Picks up paperwork and says it isn't mine. However, once the cashier that checked us out walked back up she picked up the paperwork that the manager said wasn't mind and it was. If the manager had actually looked at it 20 minutes ago we wouldnt have had an issue. Yes, I did drop a few bad words because at this point I was a little angry.
