Dick's Uptown Café is a well-oiled breakfast machine. Parking is conveniently located right outside the entrance, which is a huge plus. It's often packed, but the staff clearly has the flow down--the wait is always reasonable and moves quickly. Inside is a good-ol southern kitchen style. Seating options include both indoor and outdoor tables. The team is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive. The food is consistently fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The omelets are absolutely to die for, portions are larger than average, and prices are very reasonable. It's one of my go-to spots for breakfast or brunch. Must try.

Really really good! Came here with family on a Saturday morning. The place was really busy and there was about 10min wait for a table. This place has family restaurant vibes with friendly staff and no fuss cooking! Plenty of food options to choose from. Really good food cooked to order. If you're deciding, skip the chain restaurants at stop by and get some good food.

Peeps. I got to check this place out and it didn't disappoint. It has a cafeteria or country cookout feel with a good staff and the food is larger than your appetite. Guaranteed. Check them out.

It was my first time here. We had a group of 6 and waited about 10 mins for a table. After that we were seated and greeted promptly. I had chicken fried chicken, egg whites, hashbrowns and a piece of French toast. The chicken and French toast were probably my favorites from the meal. Service was alright.

Second visit here and both times have been satisfactory. Tucked away in a small corner near the Walmart. Dicks is a great breakfast spot , that has an old fashioned cafe feel. Very peaceful ambiance here , so you can enjoy your meal and also hear yourself think. I like how well the servers treat you. I was attended to in a timely manner. I've only tried the banana bread French toast with eggs and sausage. Full meal, and portion size is plenty. Very well made and authentic. Not too many place serve nana bread French toast so I like the fact that they have it here. Menu has some other items that are appealing , so I'll update my review more during a different occasion. Would highly recommend this business to others!

My daughter and I are visiting my mom from out-of-state. My mom suggested IHOP for breakfast. Ew. I found this place online nearby and she agreed to try it with me. It looks like an upscale shopping center, but inside the restaurant was very casual and not modern looking at all. There was a sign to seat ourselves, so we did, and we were greeted by friendly server. She quickly brought our drinks and took our order. Wait for food was minimal. I had the chicken and waffles. It was delicious. Fluffy, crisp Belgian waffle and lightly battered, crispy, juicy chicken breast strips. It came with country gravy, but I didn't use it. My mom had the country fried steak which I tried and thought was good; better than the frozen stuff from IHOP for sure. My mom thought it was dry. I did find the country gravy bland, but the steak itself was flavorful, so maybe the gravy didn't need flavor? Overall, a positive experience and would definitely return. The portions were big and prices were great ($9-12 per entree).

Small Place but, Pleasant and clean. Seating was fair and decent. The servers was friendly. The service was rather quick even though it was full. The was delicious. Everything we got was great. We taste each other's food and yes, I definitely recommend this place. Definitely.

Thanks Yelp for this recommendation after a morning hike! Surprisingly the chicken strips and gravy were a hit!

We stopped in after a baseball game for breakfast. There was a line but they got us seated within 10 minutes. Our waitress was so sweet and wonderful. The food was amazing. She brought our biscuits and gravy out as an appetizer and it was genius!! Portion sizes were large and I felt like plenty of food. The location is small but they did a good job and moving people in and out. It was a little loud but we could still have a family conversation.

This place is small and charming. It gives "home cooked" or "mom and pop" vibes. The food was good, but nothing that I couldn't make for myself at home. The service however, was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and made us feel at home. It was nice to support a local diner.

Fortunately, Waffle House accepts all emotional states equally. They actually accept just about anything. Parking? Absolutely everywhere. Which is great because the only thing worse than your 1 AM craving is to have to parallel park. But then again, this is Desoto. Breakfast is good anytime of the day, especially when it's grits and eggs with bacon and toast. And you add a side of waffle, watch out. Because ordering at the waffle house feels less like a choice and more like a legal obligation. Their grits are exactly what you expect. Warm, comforting, and just as cohesive enough to remind you that you're indeed still alive. The eggs were well, eggs, and bacon was bacon and toast was toast. And that's exactly what I expect when walking into a waffle house, the ancient art of "it is what it is." Take it or leave it. And then there's the adventurous side, a chilly hash brown situation. Did I go "all the way"? No I'm not brave enough to stare into that abyss. Instead I opted for a cheese steak melt hash, brown bowl, scattered, smothered, and covered, topped with chili, basically an egg away from fully loaded judgment. It arrived looking like something that belongs in a museum, dedicated to questionable midnight choices, but taste like comfort, chaos, and cholesterol harmony. And the service? It's just like being at home, depending on your home. Could be warm and friendly, could be begrudgingly and indifferent, it could be someone yelling in the background about something unrelated. It's the full Waffle House experience, unpredictably inconsistently consistent. Overall, it's exactly what it promises to be. No frills, no pretense, no shame. Just carbs, chili, waffle, and choices. You can only justify 24 hours a day. Will I go back? Should I go back? Probably will probably shouldn't.

We were a large party and our waiter did a pretty good job at managing us and all of our requests. Food: they do not waste time bringing the food out. Most of our orders came out within 10 minutes! I ordered the Short Rib (unfortunately not pictured). It was hot, tender, and seasoned well....very good. It came on a bed of rice and some type of sauce. I was not a fan of either. The rice seemed uncooked and the sauce was too much and very liquid. It drowned the rice and practically made it soupy. I would have been fine with just the short rib. I also ordered a side of black eyed peas... also not a fan. It was undercooked and I didn't love whatever seasoning was used to prepare it.
