Horrible experience. I couldn't speak to the food quality, because I didn't get to eat my order. I ordered a PLAIN grilled chicken sandwich. This was 2 chicken strips with mayo, lettuce, tomato. I sent it back to get a PLAIN grilled chicken sandwich. The kitchen staff removed the lettuce and tomato (which I could have done) and sent back the same sandwich with lots of mayo. Didn't eat it. Just had French fries for lunch. Waitress did ask if they could make my order over again, but kitchen had already failed twice-it's not rocket science. I even specified bun and chicken only. Table behind us dropped the maple syrup and the lid came off splattering syrup all over my wife's sweater and hair. I want to support local restaurants, stop making it so hard to do so. read more

Our visit started out great. The wait wasn't very long and our server came right over to take our drink orders (I don't recall her introducing herself to us, though) once we were seated. We also didn't need to wait long for our food, which was average). Once my friend and I got our food, it was a long while before our server came back to check on us. I had actually finished mine and pushed my plate away from me. She didn't refill my drink. I ended up stopping another server to refill it for me. (But, she took my cup into the back for some reason before refilling it. The ice and the cold drinks were in the dining area). We kept waiting for our server to come back out, as she seemed to have left the dining area all together. She finally reappeared and we requested the check. At that point, both of us had been done eating for a while, but she didn't removed our plates from the table. She brought the check, then we waited another long while for her to come get the payment (we even wondered if we were wrong and were suppose to pay at the register by the door). She finally came to get the credit card, Then we waited AGAIN for the receipts. At that point I asked her if she was new. She told me she wasn't, so I pointed out that she took too long to come check on our table. At that point, she got an attitude and told me she had other table to take care of. Very rude. I wanted to point out to her that the other servers also had other tables, but seemed to be doing a more than adequate job with their tables. That's why I thought she might be new. I've lived in Cedar Hill for a total of over 15 years and had never been to Dick's. After this experience, I won't be going there again. Food - 2 (would've been 3, but the hash browns were soft.) We were trying to find a new break spot to try out close to our home and we found this business. It's a small business which in guessing on busy days it becomes a long wait. We got the Denver omelette which came with a lot of food. Also the pancakes which are good size. Got a chocolate milk which tasted watered down. Service was at a decent speed except when checking out, they brought out check and never came back to collect so I had to get up and ask another server to check me out. read more

Plenty of parking, when you walk in you can seat yourself where-ever you like. Portion sizes are very large recommend sharing a meal bc it's so much food. It's a pretty busy spot but not to busy that the service is impacted. Staff is friendly and food comes out timely. Ordered the Tex Mess which was flavorful and fulfilling. It reminds me of a breakfast taco. Coffee here is fresh and brewed every hour it's really good. I enjoyed a great cup of coffee with my breakfast and their coffee was awesome. I did not enjoy my pancakes but hubby said they were good. Therefore, i won't say they were bad it's just I like a more fluffy cake. Overall great breakfast and would recommend. Noise level is moderate not to loud and music plays softly in the background. Was able to eat and converse without feeling as if I was yelling. They hv vegetarian options and low calorie meals. Mixed review, some things are 3 stars and some are five so I went with 4. Food was 5 stars- omelette was less egg and more fillings, pancakes and waffles tasted great and cooked well. Banana bread looked dense but it was actually light and tasty. 3 stars for the wait- not a great place if you are in a hurry. They might be understaffed but it could also just be the southern diner casual culture. Prices were not wonderful. Not so kind customer service from the Latino or Hispanic women. Not invitingI ordered 3 orders. 2 was the chicken & waffles, one order of pancakes turkey sausage and soft scramble eggs. I asked for extra syrup & butter when I placed my order. Before I left i checked my bags and did not see extra. Extra means more than what is given on a regular order..correct? If there is a cost associated with extra then say that and I will choose to either pay for extra or waiver. So as i checked my plates i did not see extra so I asked one of the ladies. She gave me 2 of each. I then said i have 3 orders I need another. As I asked an older Latina woman looked around at me with an angry stare and said something to the young lady helpn me. I said what did she say and the young lady said she said she already put extra in there. I said well i didn't see it and I do reviews. So this is the review that only have to do with customer service. I hope the food is good because the customer service I received for a call in order was not inviting nor friendly. I had (the original old mess) plate for my breakfast my daughter had strawberry covered pancakes. My plate was really flavorful. I would definitely order it again it was cooked to perfection. My daughter said her strawberry pancakes were so good she didn't add syrup or anything. This was my first visit and we look forward to coming back. Delicious and nicely priced. The location is kinda hidden but try not to miss this hidden gem. If you come on the weekends, you might meet a long line. It's there for a reason! Went on a morning hike with friends and decided to stop here for Sunday brunch. There is a shared parking in the plaza which has enough space. First come, first serve. As the other reviews have noted, if you don't read the signs in the front you could find yourself guessing the process. The menu is very large with a wide range of variety. I ultimately ended up with the basics of a French toast, eggs, and a couple of sausage patties. Worth the slight wait I'm line and just when you think there are no seats open, boom seats pop open.
