The name of this place really sells itself short. My dad and I saw the sign and thought, great a hot dog spot. It's more of a 1950's feeling diner. Sure there are hotdogs, but that isn't the main or only thing on the menu. We came for dogs though and were hungry for them. We both got the Italian dog, which is a foot long in pizza bread with potatoes, onions, peppers and a tasty sauce. We got it with the fries which were cooked nice and well done. The dog itself was delicious. Cooked very nicely, the potatoes and the rest of the sandwich (yeah it's a sandwich, it's a huge hotdog sandwich) were absolutely tasty and very filling. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. I came in with my two young daughters and they also happened to have their baby who was just about the same age as my youngest. Shes the cutest little thing and I love seeing a true family run business and seeing their baby at work with them. They gave my daughters lollipops and an ice cream sandwhich cut in pieces to share. They saw I had my hands full and carried my drinks out to the car for me. I almost didn't go out to eat tonight but wanted to support a small business for dinner and I could not have been happier with my decision. The food is just as phenomenal as their customer service. While perusing the menu and making small talk she told me the shrimp quesadillas were her favorite. Based on the reviews below that may be the item to order. The hot dog wasn't. I got a basic dog with sauerkraut and mustard. The dog was lukewarm - it tasted like it was partially grilled and partially boiled. The bun was near stale and broke off in pieces as I bit into it. For $3.95 I expected a lot better! I don't usually go out of my way to write a bad review for a restaurant because I understand how tough this business is. But don't name your place "Dickie's Dogs" and serve crap like that! read more

A hot dog joint with more non-hot dogs on the menu than dogs. This is my second time coming here and both have been fantastic. They are inexpensive, but the quality is amazing. The mozzarella sticks are practically perfect. Gooey cheese on the inside super crispy on the outside. The hot dogs are insanely large, I'd be willing to bet that they are actually over a foot long. The service is a little slow as there is typically only one server but she's immensely friendly and attentive. On a trip back from the casinos, we decided to stop at this place since there was a slow down on the highway and i was so inlove with the fact that they had colombian food in an Americanised dinner. Dont get me wrong, i love pancakes and burgers but sometimes some spanish food is needed. I ended up getting the beef steak criole and it was honestly the best spanish food i had in years, from the steak , rice, beans and plaintains everything was cooked so fresh and good. The seasoning and the plantains were cooked to perfection. Totally recommend this place, kinda jealous that they dont have a Dickys by where i live read more

This place is a hidden gem. It's name is deceiving- it's more of an upscale diner with an updated retro theme. I've actually never had the hotdogs, but the breakfast burritos are amazing, as are their lunch wraps and burgers. The staff is always very friendly, and it's very clean. My boyfriend and I go every so often, so the gentleman that works there surprised us with fried ice cream which was amazing. You will find that you'll be surprised by what their menu offers. We were headed home from Pine Beach and needed a quick bite to tide us over till dinner at home. We saw dogs and thought great! Not too big and perfect for the 3 kiddos. What an awesome surprise! The food is GREAT! Kids dogs were perfect and my Texas wrap delicious. My wife got the special shrimp quesadilla (She LOVES shrimp quesadillas - Her favorite!). She said without a doubt one of the best ones she's ever had! The food is outstanding! Fresh and delicious! We'll be back to Pine Beach for a quick one day visit at the end of the month. We've been going to this location since it's original owner and name. It's changed names a few times and owners a few times, and with it quality. So, we were excited to see this "American faire" restruant open up and after giving it some time to work out it's opening quircks headed over for breakfast one Sunday. The decor is really cool. They put a lot of money into revamping the place. Red, white, silver...it has a 50's soda shop theme. Unfortuntatly, the menu doesn't seem to match. Service was great, food was ok, but prices were high ($8 for blueberry pancakes no sides). Some stuff was good, like the pancakes, some stuff was not, like the syrup that had the taste and consistency of water. The sausuage that came with our egg breakfast was really good, the potatoes soaked in so much soggy pepper and onion that you couldn't taste them was not. Menu was eclectic with lots of American faire choices that were less american faire and more food truck gourmet with ethnic twists or less common toppings. TV played a very graphic crime scene show the entire time...unpleasant addition to the atmosphere... Overall it was an ok experience, waitress was prompt, food was ok, but again...it's one of those places we wouldn't mind going if someone else wanted to go but wouldn't give up the favorite diner where the prices are cheaper and the food is more to our liking. read more

I love a good chili dog but this one was not very tasty at all plus it was boiled, not grilled so it was kind of just blah. The chili looked like chili. It had beans (who puts beans on chili dogs?). It just didn't taste like chili. It tasted like... well, nothing at all. And the dog was on a very large roll, maybe twice as much bread as a normal hotdog roll. That helped hide any taste that was left. Sorry but it was actually the worst chili dog I ever ate. The waitress said a few times "Oh I haven't tasted that yet." In NJ, when you stop at a hot dog joint, you expect it to be about the hot dog. This is one of the worst hot dogs I've ever had. Mushy inside. The fries are terrible, like frozen you get in the supermarket. And when you open a place for hot dogs, don't go crazy putting tons of "healthy" things on the menu..ie; carrot juice, beet juice, odd ball salads.
