Our party at DiFabios was fantastic We wanted to host a party that was going to be too large for our house. After thinking about what we wanted in a venue, DiFabios came up as a possibility. I contacted their event planner and Alexa Agovino responded quickly. She was a pleasure to work with and guided us through the process. We had a few unusual requests. We had one vegan attendee, and one entree and the vegetables and salad fit the bill. We also wanted to have a zero-waste event. That meant no disposables (linens, tableware, etc), no single-use plastics, leftovers provided in foil containers, and kitchen waste composted as far as practical. Alexa assured us that they could accomodate all of those requirements. We also were going to bring a small speaker for a playlist and some announcements. (Welcome, etc). The day arrived. The room looked great.Our daughter made a large poster of pictures of us that was amazing and became an instant talking point. We met our servers, Diane and Ryan. They proved invaluable. Ryan even produced a phone charger which was critical since the phone was providing the music. Guests started to arrive. There were so many hugs and congratulations. It was a great party at a great venue with great servers anticipating our every need. We were more than satisfied in every way, and are looking forward to our next excuse to have a party at DiFabios. read more

Theresa and Alexa provided clear and timely communication and we were able to complete the reservation and food selection by email which was very helpful. The room was very nice, everyone complimented the food, and the servers were very attentive but not at all intrusive. Would highly recommend. read more

We booked a room at DiFabio's for a post-B'nai Mitzvah luncheon for my kid, and we couldn't be happier. We worked with Teresa and Alexa, to get the menu options right, main dishes and appetizers, discuss the drink options, and dessert. They were extremely prompt at providing information and responding to questions. We had final confirmations for everything, so there was no question about what our experience there would entail. On the day itself, everything was ready, and the food choices were excellent. We let them know that we had a couple late cancellations, and they didn't charge for those individuals. We had a room in the rear, and a table set up with appetizers when guests arrived. The tables were arranged in rows, and we had Diane and Alex serving the entire room. They were fantastic. They took everyone's entree order - choice of salmon, chicken, or gnocchi. All three were excellent. If someone (like me!) wanted a drink from the bar, they supplied it quickly. They hustled so much! Good Kitchen, But Total Failure in Hospitality Leadership As a 10-year Yelp Elite reviewer, I rarely post out of pure frustration, but our experience here warrants a serious discussion on public decorum and front-of-house management. My wife and I drove a distance to celebrate her birthday before a local theater performance. While the food preparation and waitstaff were perfectly fine, the entire evening was nullified by a total lack of situational leadership from management. During our appetizers, a child in an adjacent private party room began screaming and throwing a severe tantrum. We've all been parents; we know children are unpredictable. But there is a baseline expectation of public decency. The parents failed to proactively remove the child, leaving our stress levels through the roof. When a disturbance reaches that level, it is management's job to protect the environment for the rest of their paying patrons. I had to seek out the owner myself just to get a reaction. In business, an experience is "yours to win or yours to lose." Management chose to lose. The owner clearly prioritized the bottom line of one private party over the sanity of his staff and individual diners. Moving our table a few feet mid-meal did nothing to block the noise. Where the owner failed Hospitality 101: Lack of Spine: Management should have firmly requested the party hosts take the child outside immediately, rather than waiting for an uncomfortable patron to complain. Zero Service Recovery: On a $100+ bill with wine, a savvy business owner remedies a ruined atmosphere on the spot. Proactively comping the wine or offering a birthday dessert is basic customer retention. We were offered absolutely nothing. We only stayed because we were on a strict pre-theater timeline and didn't know the area. Quality food means nothing if the environment is chaotic and management lacks the spine to enforce basic decorum. A massive disappointment for a special night out. read more

I had terrific guidance on a menu and quantities for a business meeting. Alexa, Abby, and Theresa were infinitely patient with my ever changing requirements as my numbers kept changing. Stopped in for the first time and purchased some to go items. The meatballs , Stromboli and the chicken orzo soup were all excellent. The staff were wonderful to us , my friend is 82 with a cane and they. came over and told us next time we come to use the ramp. They also made a fuss because he was also from South Philly and they seemed like old friends by the time we left!! We will be back. I have no idea why we haven't stopped here prior. We went for their Caribbean Night on a Wednesday night, and it was a joke. The place was empty with one table of ladies who eventually left. My husband and I sat at the bar expecting drink specials. There weren't any. There were 3 food specials for the evening, and I expected to hear live steel drum music as advertised. There was one dude playing the synthesizer. We were terribly disappointed. While I typically like DiFabio's food, on this particular night, the sangria salad came in a tiny bowl with the dressing on the side which I didn't ask for. The bowl was so small I couldn't mix the dressing in. When I asked for a bigger bowl, an even smaller one came out. Finally, after asking for a pasta bowl which my husband had for his entree, a good-sized bowl came out. I couldn't wait to leave. read more

The Chicken Marsala and Truffle Mashed Potatoes we had for our Easter dinner were a huge hit--fresh and delicious! A great value with large delicious portions allowing for guests to take some home. I went to DiFabio's on Easter morning for there Brunch with my family & honestly, it was the Best Buffet & Food I've had in a long time & I've owned my own fine dining restaurant. For $42.95, the Buffet included, A carving station with DELICIOUS PRIME RIB & Honey HAM, another table with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast& next table was Chicken Parm with Pasta, roasted Potatoes & vegetables & next table had Caesar salad, fresh mozzarella & tomato, assorted Italian meats & cheeses, jumbo shrimp cocktail, fresh fruit salad, & variety of fresh veggies & the next table had over 10 varieties of sliced homemade cakes & fresh chocolate mousse & vanilla, Fresh Italian rolls with fresh roasted peppers. Hadn't been back to one of my favorite Media area places in a while and need to write an updated review since they have the cool new 2nd floor space now open. It's beautiful with a sleek bar, and a nice open table set-up. Food is always top notch here and the sandwiches once again were delicious as was my wife Chicken Marsala. Server was great- very nice and attentive. They always have a nice large beer list and how many great dinner spots have an attached store that lets you take home great food for home. Run - don't walk here - you won't be disappointed! A 4.5 star experience. read more

Drove past DiFabios many times and finally stopped in for lunch. Seat yourself casual waitress service. Parking! Lots of choices in the menu including pasta. I went with the chicken cutlet spinach provolone and red peppers . Yummy! Chicken cutlet cooked perfect - not a lot of breading - fresh sautéed spinach an taste like home made roasted red peppers . Perfect crusted seeded Italian bread. My friend got the 9st special- cutlet, greens, prociutto and red peppers mozzarella with balsamic vinegar. Took a bike and it was delish. Server was a bit slow to bring our drinks- food came and had to ask for drinks again. Being a casual place I'm not expecting top notch service- food won over service in foodie happiness factor. Table of homemade baked holiday cookies were on display. Looked delicious. Good selection of craft beer to go and a bar with stained glass! Also a market to buy Italian dishes , meatballs.
