It is hard to find places right near we live that are consistently good that also have a robust menu and also offer rotating dishes, especially those that have unique choices that change seasonally; Santino's Tap & Table meets that need. I have been here a few times, with the first visit being the best of the three "attempted" visits, I believe. The first time we were so impressed with both the service and the food that we had been looking for every opportunity to go back and enjoy a meal without the distraction of other people or kids, and when we did finally secure that on a random Thursday early evening, we were sorely disappointed. We arrived at 4 in the afternoon, it was a bit busy for that time of day, with most of the seating already taken. However, there were several booths open as well as a larger table open. When we asked to be seated (no one else was waiting) we were politely told that there was nothing available and that all the remaining tables were reserved for people at 5pm. This is by no means the fault of the hostesses but there was also no reason we couldn't be seated and we left very disappointed and a bit bothered. So having a third chance to go to Santino's again, was also a good experience, just not as exciting and outstanding as the first. Our server was great, as the staff has always been, even when we were turned away, but nothing really stood out as anything special this time. The food was good, but nothing to write home about. I was sold on the meatball salad, which was a concept that seemed really strange to me at first, but then I cozied up to it and convinced myself it was a great, unique thing. It was bland at best, but still interesting! Everything else was just okay. Not what I remembered from the original time I had been here. All of that said, this is still somewhere I will go again. The draw of the unique, rotating menu is too great, and the people that work here are wonderful. Plus it's nearby and easy! Give Santino's a try. Maybe it was an off day the last time I was there and maybe the one time, they were simply too busy or worried we wouldn't be finished before their reserved seating showed up. Overall, this is a solid restaurant. You are a little better off with pizzas and more of the bar type food, but each thing I have tried here I enjoyed. Instead of making it over they pour syrup in a damn dressing cup for me to pour it in myself...while trying to consume that nasty margarita I then noticed a chill in the air and suspected the heat wasn't working, and my trip to the bathroom confirmed my suspicion THERE WAS NO HEAT IN THAT RESTAURANT. It's so nice we came back twice! This is my work's 2nd year holiday party and it was a really nice night out. This year we requested the upper dining area on the 2nd floor because we needed space. They more than accomodated the entire group. We even had private restrooms as to not disturb the guests down stairs. We were hosted by Melissa. She really was helpful to everyone and all of our individual needs. We got about 12 apps for the group family style. Almost too many drinks. Then all kinds of dishes that ranged from pasta to cheese steaks. NOTHING was done subpar. They can take on large groups with ease. The chicken Demarco was recommended to me and I swear it was perfect! I'm a garlic girl and this did not disappoint. From my previous experience the staff are very kind. The food menu is versatile from comfort/pub food, to delicious and varied Italian cuisine dishes. On my most recent visit Miley was our server. First time on Macdaddy Blvd, looking for a bite to eat. Door opens to a bar filled with hard working men. The restaurant in the back was filled with"art". I counted 8 pieces in the three stall ladies room plus 2 large framed mirrors. My order of crab cakes arrived with a miserly amount of champagne sauce, frozen spinach and an ice cream scoop of steam table mashed potatoes. Cakes were more than 50% crab. Talked to the manager and she lied saying there were no other mice and that they passed a health inspection. However, soon after, we saw another mouse. This was a very good bar cheesesteak. If you are going to melt the cheese on top I hope you use a lot of cheese. Santino's melted a lot of cheese on top of this cheesesteak. We got the 'Steve Special.' Pepperoni, hot peppers and sauce are the only ingredients I am certain where in this cheesesteak. Everything was mixed very well together. My friends and I went there last week. Towards the end of our dinner experience in the main dining area, there were a few mice running around. One even went up and down the stairs. When the manager, Ms. Catania came down from the upstairs, another booth and ourselves told her about the mice and she said that they were having mouse problems. She said they were setting traps and had exterminators. She said this was happening since the construction out front, which was months ago. I know mice like to come in, in the cold, but in a restaurant, around food being made, this is unacceptable. The back door outside, to the kitchen was propped open when I arrived and left, with trash piled outside the door. That doesn't help either. read more

The new West Chester Santino's opened at E. Market St. Wednesday 11/23 (yes, the day before Thanksgiving) and we tried it Saturday the 26th. They made mostly superficial changes to the former Ram's Head in terms of the interior, but sensibly connected the back and front bars that were separate. The menu is different than R.H. in that it is more Italian, including varieties of pizza, but also has plenty of other choices. My wife and I liked our entrees, linguine and crab for me and an eggplant dish she ordered. They came out in good time for a place that just opened a few days prior. I'm curious to try some other selections they had for both apps and sandwiches. And with a large number of big screen TVs, this could become a go-to place as a sports bar. I'm granting a soft opening period mulligan for the fact that they totally dropped the ball on my dessert order, that easier part of the meal took longer than the entrees, so I asked for it to be taken off the bill. But some advice to any restaurant owner: higher, double-digit priced cocktails mean a little less ice, not having bartenders try to cram MORE into a 16 oz. glass. Inflation plus "shrinkflation" equals annoyed patrons who may not order the 2nd or 3rd. Beer and drink demand are not as inelastic as owners seem to presume. read more

The first time we ordered from Santino's, it was incredible. You could tell how fresh everything was, and our little requests (no cheese, dressing on the side) were all adhered to. It was a little expensive, but simply delicious. You can imagine our disappointment the next 3 times we ordered from there. Items were missing, and they didn't follow any included food directions, even though we were catering to someone with an allergy. I can understand this happening on one order, but 3 separate times? Maybe it's my fault for continuing to try them. The last time we ordered, I specifically called after placing my order to confirm they would read and adhere to the instructions. We still didn't receive $25 worth of food we ordered. They were kind enough to refund our money through Grubhub for the things that were missing and/or incorrect, but it's been a real disappointment because we thought we had found our "go to" delivery joint. Jaded now, we probably won't order from them again, but if you are picking up/eating in rather than getting delivery, the food was pretty good. read more

Beware! There is a 3% surcharge for using a credit card. The notice is the second line from the bottom of the menu in very small type. We occasionally run into this and find it really annoying. The food was pretty good. We were charged a 20% gratuity because we had four adults and four children which I understand. However, when we paid in cash we had to ask for our waitress for our change which seemed to confuse her. If you are going to charge a fee for credit cards then get used to handling cash again. read more

I've been here twice since it opened last week, what a phenomenal place!!! Food is amazing, really good pizza, fantastic French onion soups and some delicious appetizers. The decor looks great. It's a really cool spot to grab a nice lunch/dinner or even watch a game at the bar. There are TVs everywhere and the service has been outstanding both times I was there. Husband and I have eaten here several times. Highly recommend the seafood risotto. Food is always top notch. Hostess and servers always super friendly. We've only ever come in during the week not a weekend but sometimes things can take a little longer than expected but I get it. You're not going to have the same amount of staffing on a Monday that you would on a Saturday. Place always looks clean. And yes they add on a fee for paying with a card but I'm old enough to remember when almost every place aside from large chains did. Not deep enough for me to leave a crappy review. read more
