Chicken Romanesco -- new menu item Spring 2025
    Susan K.

ORIGIN: The DIG in Rye Brook opened in 2017 and was first DIG to be located outside a major city (NYC, where founded and Boston). LOCATION: The restaurant is located in the Rye Ridge Shopping Plaza, which has quite a few restaurants that are oriented towards fast, healthy dish options. Plenty of parking and quite accessible to several highways. CONCEPT: DIG offers vegetable forward dishes (intentionally 70% of plate), mixed with seasonal dishes (such as corn-based salads during summer). AMBIANCE: The restaurant has three seating sections: a back dining room with large window and skylights, a front dining room lined with bookshelves, and a small sidewalk patio area. Artwork decorates the walls and cafe tables are two shades of green with wood chairs. SERVICE: Although seating is available, orders are placed at the counter and are efficient. Through the DIG app online orders may be scheduled for pick up. TIPS: Ask to have order prepared in bowls/plates. Utensils are provided and the experience is greatly enhanced. A wide range of beverages are available, including surprisingly wine. Try a chilled bottle of DIG's signature ginger mint lemonade. DIG offers a variety of dishes that adhere to different diet needs, but also offer additional flexibility via a "build your own" option.

I ordered the kale as my "base" and then chose three sides for the dish. Ordering is quick and easy, with the dishes labeled on the glass. Plenty of seating in the front and back of the restaurant, as well as plenty of parking in the lot. The food was good, but I prefer traditional comfort food, but this is a good choice if you want a different twist on the classics.

A great spot of healthy food. This is a great spot to come to eat healthy or splurge on some really good mac & cheese. The staff are nice and helpful. I love Dig and was disappointed when I got a cold piece of chicken. The staff was helpful and switched it out for a fresh piece. The atmosphere is nice.

Nice size store, plenty of sitting in front and back of establishment. As well as many proteins and sides to choose from.

Love it here! I'm glad this place is so close to me. I love their fresh food options, their bowls, dessert, etc. Their chicken, broccoli, rice, etc is all amazing. My favorite option here is: the Original Dig bowl. I highly recommend it. You can also build your own bowl here. Their dessert is great, too. I'd recommend stopping by here if you're looking for fresh food options.

Dinner for three of us looked like 3 custom bowls and two sides. Everything was chose was so tasty and healthy. Different proteins, choice of base (faro was outstanding), amazing toppings and salads made it heavenly. For my salmon I tried some of their roasted red pepper sauce. They have a garlic cream dipping sauce too. Their roasted cauliflower was truly outstanding. Amazed!

I was originally supposed to eat heee as part of a Yelp Elite event but couldn't make it so I came here on my own to give it a try. The space is very big and open. It smelled great inside from the aromas of all the various ingredients that were cooking away. The staff was busy and friendly. I ordered the Dig owl and a side of the Brussels sprouts, my wife ordered a make your own bowl. The food was fresh and well cooked but the sprouts had way too much salt to the point it was overwhelming the flavor of the sprouts. Everything g else in my dish was better seasoned but even those items could have used slightly less salt too. I will definitely eat here again when I'm nearby. It was/is better than a lot of the "bowl shops" that I have been to, and I'm hoping that maybe they just slipped with the salt that day and I will give them another try.

Honestly, one of my favorite places for a healthy quick lunch. I absolutely love their salmon and sweet potatoes. I normally always get the same thing because I just love it so much. My order is brown rice, double sweet potatoes, salmon, and an avocado. I always get the rosemary vinaigrette dressing as it adds the most perfect flavor. I was so disappointed during my visit when they said they didn't have it for the winter. I could've sworn it was a year-round dressing but I got regular balsamic and it wasn't bad The only reason this isn't a full five stars is because it really is over priced. I understand that this is healthy food and it normally costs more but there's no reason two bowls should have costed $40. There are so many other places where $40 would have gotten me multiple courses. That is one of the main reasons I don't come here a lot. Still one of my favorites for a healthy bite though.

We went heavy on appetizers; shishito peppers (not for the faint of heart), Pastrami egg rolls (everyone's fave), Crispy artichokes and Hummus (awesome pita! Mom's favorite). The Shrimp & Lobster Mac and cheese was a standout. Loved by all. Chicken Shawarma was fine. Pot of Mussels was very good (not the "moules" you'd find in Brussels, but they stand on their own merits.) Lovely evening.

Ordered: Crispy artichokes ($15)- these were fried and tasty with a creamy yogurt sauce. Nothing crazy or exotic flavor wise, but enjoyable. Polenta bites ($12)- I really enjoyed these! They were a little salty, a little smoky (bacon) and a little sweet (honey). I will say that I strongly recommend Village Social either update their menu or change the toppings, as these polenta bites were topped with crispy bacon but the menu did not indicate this. Vegetarians in our group didn't realize this dish wasn't vegetarian. Chicken Milanese ($28)- the portion was very generous! It came with a large chicken breast and I requested to change the salad on top to Caesar. I appreciated their willingness to modify the order. All in all, I'd recommend checking out Village Social the next time you're looking for a dinner spot in the area.

Our server was very friendly and attentive, and both the drinks and food came out quickly since the kitchen wasn't too busy. We ordered several appetizers to share, and my favorite was the grilled octopus--it was perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. For my entrée, I had the shrimp risotto, which was nicely flavored and very satisfying. We also ordered a variety of desserts to share, and I liked the churro bowl the best. Overall, the drinks were strong and the food was delicious. Would definitely come back!

Amazing place to get dinner in Greenwich Avenue!…read more My favorite appetizers were the mezze plate and the burrata toast. The mezze plate came with small bowls of hummus, baba ghanoush, tzatziki, and roasted pepper dip, as well as pieces of pita, cucumber, carrots, celery, and olives. All the dips were delicious. The burrata toast had roasted squash, apples, maple walnuts, pomegranate seeds, a little bit of greens, and a balsamic glaze. I'm a burrata lover, and it's usually served with tomatoes, but I loved this unique blend of ingredients. For my main dish, I had the Maine lobster roll. This was served cold, with mayo, on a potato roll, with a side salad. The portions were huge and the lobster was so good. For dessert, I tried the skillet chocolate chip cookie, the chocolate lava cake, and the pavlova. Everyone at my table agreed that the chocolate chip cookie was the best dessert. It's served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup. In one word, heavenly. For drinks, I had a yummy lychee martini. My dad had wine, and he asked me to add to my review that he thought the wine markup was very reasonable. It's a beautiful restaurant, and service was great. Highly recommend stopping here for dinner.
