The waiter said it was the pesto mayo, which according to AI CAN migrate from sweet tasting to licorice flavored (ugh!) based on the basil being exposed to extreme heat causing it to flower. Swing and a miss. We switched it out for an eggs Benedict which wasn't much better. Strike two. They have free parking in two lots, one adjacent to the restaurant and one across the street. The spots are narrow so they may be a bit tight for super large cars. The restaurant does not allow strollers. They have a prominent sign on the front of the door, which I appreciated, but it did make it harder to manage with a little one. We made a reservation. I arrived late, but they sat my friend right away while she waited and provided us with sturdy wooden high chairs. To drink, I ordered a lemonade. It turned out to be pink lemonade, which I hadn't had in a while. It was tasty, especially with a requested fresh lemon for a little extra tartness. To eat, I had the tree hugger benedict. When I try a new spot for the first time, I usually keep it simple--it's the easiest way to see if a place is truly on point or just riding its reputation. For brunch, I ordered two soft scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, and toast. Nothing fancy, but that's exactly why it works as a test. They passed with ease. Excellent food and service. I was genuinely impressed by the freshness of the ingredients. Everything was cooked perfectly, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. It's obvious this team knows what they're doing and takes pride in the details. To top it off, I had a great conversation with Christina -- possibly the owner or manager -- on my way out. She was warm, upbeat, and genuinely engaged. It felt like she truly cared about the experience her customers were having, which made a great meal even better. Cozy place with warm lighting and great service. They even brought a kids cup for my two-year-old without us asking, which I really appreciated. We had a mushroom and Swiss omelette with homemade fries, a side of bacon which came with 4 strips, a Belgian waffle, a brioche sandwich with scrambled egg and cheddar, and a Bloody Mary. Everything was good overall, though the brioche bun was a little dry for my taste. I'm not a big fan of home fries, but my friend enjoyed them. As a parent of a 2-year-old and a 6-month-old, dining out is never easy. My 6 month old fell asleep in his car seat on the way to breakfast. We use a Doona, so I was able to wheel him inside asleep and planned to convert it into a car seat once we reached our table. The restaurant was nearly empty, and there was plenty of room to safely walk to our table without disrupting staff or other guests. As soon as we arrived, the hostess (who I believe may have been the owner) told me the Doona needed to be folded into car seat mode at the table. That was never an issue, I was completely happy to do that. What was upsetting was how she spoke to me, and her attitude. She reprimanded me for wheeling the Doona the short distance to the table, speaking to me as if I were a child being scolded in the principal's office. I've worked in the restaurant industry since I was a young teenager, so I understand restaurant etiquette and safety. I never would have wheeled the stroller through the dining room if it wasn't safe or appropriate. Her tone and attitude were so unkind it made me feel completely unwelcome. Instead of showing a little understanding toward a mother trying to manage two young children, she chose to embarrass me over something I had every intention of correcting once I reached the table. If it hadn't been such an ordeal to get two little ones there, I would have left immediately. The food may have been fine, but hospitality is just as important, and unfortunately that was completely lacking. I won't be returning, and I hope management realizes that kindness and respect toward guests, especially parents doing their best, go a long way. Very noisy place to eat. The people who live in town and frequent this restaurant all think it is about themselves. They converse amongst themselves talking so loud that the conversations can be heard clear across the room. These people have no sense of courtesy or respect and think they are the only ones around. Now for the restaurant. In spite of the above the service is always very nice and the waiters are accommodating. The food is really delicious, and well presented. Before we ordered our entrees, the waitress asked if we wanted a cinnamon bun. Naturally we had to get one! Note: they are huge and one of them can probably feed 4. Stopped in for breakfast on the weekend. It has upscale diner vibes. Large breakfast selection and lunch items. I got the special frittata and my sister got the lemon ricotta pancakes. Since they were both on the special menu we were anticipating they were solid choices. The frittata just wasn't what I was expecting. It was topped with artichokes, sundried tomatoes and Brie. I was expecting it to be mixed into the omelet instead of just sprinkled on top. There was no taste other than canned items. It didn't even look appetizing in the plate. Not my favorite. The pancakes were light, but not super fluffy. They had a hint of lemon taste but could have been a bit more. Bacon was tasty and crispy. We had a 6:30 reservation and the restaurant had a table clearly marked as "reserved" waiting for us. Our server came by quickly to take our drink orders. After an appropriate interval, Our server came to take our orders. We didn't have to wait long for the arrival of our main dishes. Both dishes were extremely generous, so generous that half of my order was uneaten. Our server had my leftover packed for me to take home to enjoy for lunch the next day. The restaurant vibe is laid back and relaxed. No loud music to disturb quiet conversations. Since this was midweek, the restaurant wasn't overly crowded. As such, when our server came by with the check, she let us know that there was no need to leave quickly. I appreciated this since my dining companion and I could extend our conversation. I've had the pleasure of dining in this establishment three times. I have never been disappointed at The Beehive. Took my 3 young kids here for breakfast on a rare day off from work. They open at 9:00am. We arrive at 9:05 and the restaurant is locked and there's a queue of people waiting to get in. Pretty terrible to leave a line of people and nobody there to let them in. The other times we've been here haven't been great either. Very crowded and meh food. The service is okay with nice people working there. This place is lucky they are the only breakfast place in a 10 mile radius. Here's to hoping for more competition. read more

My family and I have been visiting Beehive for years, usually for lunch, and we're always happy with the quality and consistency of the food. Today, though, I was in the mood for breakfast/brunch, so I went there earl, before meeting up with my family. The dedicated brunch menu is more extensive, as far as I can tell, than the lunch menu that includes a decent number of brunch items. And today I was intrigued to see one specific item on yhe menu. Nueske Thick Cut King of Bacons and Eggs Hashbrowns Toast......18.95 It sounded really good. Then I checked on the price of the omelettes, with this bacon as an add on. The bon alone as an add on was $14.95. So the brunch with the bacon and eggs was a no brainer. It did not disappoint. This is the thickest bacon I've ever seen in my life. By way of comparison, each slice/rasher is as thick as 4 or 5 slices/rashers of regular bacon. They do fully cook it to the point where it's coked comparably to a well done steak, but not to the point where its as crisp as thin sliced bacon, because from a cooking standpoint, I'm sure that would make it inedible. Another comparison - fresh, hot, really thick cut bacon jerky. I ordered the eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese on top. the eggs arrived with the cheese mixed in, which was a very pleasant surprise. The only item that disappointed were the hash browns. If you've ever been to Bob's diner in Brewster on a weekend morning, you've likely had the best hash browns in the area. The hashbrowns here are a very stand frozen hashbrown you can buy in a grocery store, consisting of lightly seasoned cubes of potatoes that have either been baked or fried. They were okay, but not up to the level of the bacon and eggs they accompanied. All in all, along with a great cup of tea, a very good meal.
