The beer selection is outstanding, albeit not necessarily economical. I come back for the food! It is dependably outstanding. Fresh greens and vegetables, well prepared meats, all enhanced by flavorful sauces and dressings. This is bar food for foodies! Checked this place out the other night and wasn't too impressed. Has a lot of potential, but wasn't my scene. Bartenders seemed inattentive and not too interested in serving you. A little chaotic and people were coming and going in all directions and out of random doors. Patio option was a plus and good downtown location. read more

All you can eat wings were not good. First batch (hell wings I think they were) were overcooked, tiny, and not enough sauce. Second batch looked and smelled great (pad Thai peanut) but 2 wings in and both were undercooked so they took those back and brought out the 3rd (garlic parmesean). Those looked okay but the sauce was really bland. Finally got a new batch of pad thai and those were decent. Also got the "bricks of cheese". They brought out the plate but dropped 1 so they had to being the replacement out later. The first 3 were barely warm and the cheese was really firm and not stringy. But the rasberry capote was really good. They brought the 4th one out and it was fresh and hot and the cheese inside was good and stringy like it's supposed to be. Service was decent, but the inside was really dark and made it hard to see the menu. Had heard a great deal about Digby's and so having some free time on a Friday at 5:00 pm thought I'd give it a whirl. Sorry to say the experience did not live up to the chatter. Here are the cons. 1. No beer list: The drink menu looked like a coffee table book and the waitress said they had a great brew selection but she couldn't tell me what my possible selections were. 2. "Sophomoric Service": No beer list, no worries. I ask the server if a few mainstream brands were available. Finding out that they're not I kept tracking more and more to the center of the stream and settle for a good ole Sam Adams Boston Lager which was served under chilled. When I order a second and ask that it be colder than the first the servers smugly informs me that "they just stocked the cooler this morning and so the brew isn't cold yet. So she brings me the second Sam and assures me that it "came from the back of the cooler" and as Raugupatis, the Slavic God of fermentation and hospitality, is my witness, it's just as tepid as the first. Seriously, my home fridge can cool off cases of long necks by 5:00 pm and Digby's, which on this fine Friday at beginning of a weekend on the very front edge of the beginning of a Purdue academic year, can't. My advice to to is either get a cooler that works or a server who is familiar with the concept of customer service. Until you straighten this out you're going to lose business as folks who want their beverage wishes respected and their smug answers from Fox News go elsewhere. OK, here are the pros. 1. Nice patio with a great view the architectural wedding cake that is the Tippecanoe County courthouse. A minor suggestion to enhance this pro, find a better location for your sign. Went here for lunch with my dad. Had heard good things from friends so I thought we'd give it a try. We sat at the bar, and the first thing I noticed is no draft beer. I looked down to see a "pretty good" selection of bottles in the cooler. Being a craft beer kind of guy, I'm fine with bottles. We ordered beers, and the bartender brings them and tells us the special...Fish & Chips. I'm in the mood for a burger, but my dad says yes to the special. I end up ordering a Black & Bleu burger, medium. Food comes out in a fairly timely manner, however my burger was apparently wrong because the cook came out and took it away saying "I'll bring you the right one!". We laughed, no big deal. My dad got his fish at the same time and asked about the missing "chips" as there where no fries in the basket. This was quickly corrected with a basket of potato chips! He immediately told them that this was not right, when you order fish & chips, it always has fries, not actual potato chips! They said they'd bring him fries for an extra charge. He declined. My Black & Bleu burger, which was supposed to be medium, came out well. It had very little blue cheese and nothing else. The burger was very dry and was under seasoned. I did not finish it. The best thing we had there were the beers, which were over priced, but that's to be expected from a bottle only bar. I will not be back, and if I can help it, neither will my friends. read more

Hipster joints get to be surly and delicious, delicious and cheap, or cheap and surly. That is the formula for a charming and fun time at your favorite local hipster restaurant. Digby's Pub and Patio unfortunately fulfills only the rude category. Staffed by daguerrotype tryhards, you will enjoy flat soda, velveeta cheese based food products, and overpriced mid-tier foodstuffs. Their burgers are quite delicious but there seems to be some embarrassing miscommunications between servers and cook staff and orders are frequently incorrect. Time till serving can vary from 5 minutes to 45 minutes. This restaurant would thrive if consistency and professionalism was encouraged all around. read more

Got the duck BLT, they put it on a hoagie bun. The sandwich was all bread very little meat. Couldn't taste anything thing but bread. Husband got a ribeye sandwich, over cooked. Ordered sweet potato fries and they were over cooked. Our son got a pizza, that wasn't to bad. The coke was terrible also. Will not go back!! Atmosphere was the best thing about the place. read more

The burgers are HUGE and really yummy, you definitely get your money's worth. The chips are awesome too. However, there may have been 2 waitstaff working and the service was horrible. We weren't asked how we wanted our hamburgers cooked so they came out dryer than we preferred (but still yummy). We never received refills on our waters and never got napkins even though we asked multiple times. We had to flag down the waiter to get our check and flag him down again for him to take it; the pay process took 20 min. Overall, it was not a good experience and we probably won't come back. Digby's replaced the Avidity and made the patio a much more open area with more seating, so that's a plus. They also redid the inside, which was a major necessity. It no longer looks like a creepy dungeon. Another plus is that there are multiple vegetarian options on the menu. Apart from vegetarian, burgers, or apps there are only a handful of other food options and they're pretty adventurous. As a "conservative" eater I ordered a chicken caesar salad - always a safe bet, right? The salad was portioned like a side salad and the chicken was bland, but it cost $11.50. Way overpriced! I've patronized Digby's a couple times and rate it average, but worthwhile. It's a good place for burgers and standard pub food. I've had the bleu cheese burger and the white cheddar bacon burger, and have been satisfied both times. First time here. Summery night for fall and happy to be outside on the patio. They had a nice beer list but nothing on draft. We ordered bottled beer that was not very cold and the glasses were not frosted. After that I ordered a mixed drink from the specialty menu and it was excellent. The server knew nothing about beer and mediocre as a server in general. The pretzel bread appetizer with beer cheese was very good. I had a make-your-own flatbread pizza and gave only a couple ingredients and challenges the kitchen to make me something interesting. Our server said the chefs had a lot of fun with that. My husband's burger was just ok. Our friend liked her wild mushroom flatbread pizza quite a bit. Overall I would say the food and mixed drinks were really good but the beer and service were just adequate. We likely won't come back. For as little as we go out to eat, we have other places we can count on to be better. read more

Tried it last night on a lark, and holy cow I was impressed. I had the duck eggrolls which were quite tasty, and the New Yorker whose pastrami and corned beef did not disappoint. The German Potato salad was also quite tasty and definitely a step up on the other game to be had down town. I also must give a shout out to the bartender who made an EXCELLENT Old Fashioned that made me quite happy. read more

I really like their outdoor seating area. Food is pretty good. Servers are not the friendliest but seem more relaxed. They have never been rude either. Today I had 3 bugs inside the mayo on my sandwhich...I called it to the servers attention and she was legitimately horrified and ensured I was absolutely not paying for the meal. I the felt bad for her because she came back and took the bun the bugs were on and told me the kitchen wanted to see it. How about sending the manager out if you wanted me to prove to you my food had insects in it, you made the server come get the bun. I was embarrassed for her. No draft beer! The bottle they brought me was warm. My wife ordered the Black and Bleu salad and margarita. The margarita was unsalted and possibly the first attempt ever for the bartender. They brought her a salad with several ingredients that weren't on the menu description for this particular item. One of the extra ingredients were candied nuts to which she is allergic. I've been going to Digby's for well over 2 years now, it has been my GO TO pub in Lafayette for sometime now. My date and I have always enjoyed the atmosphere the servers and definitely the food. Recently they cut their Menu way back, it's somewhat understandable but I do miss some of their off the wall items that they had. We went there last evening the server after she got done looking at her phone and chatting with others sitting at the bar, brought us water and asked for our drink order. We both ordered Ice Tea, she left for a moment and returned saying they were out of tea, seriously? We proceeded to order a diet coke, and regular coke instead, when brought is was obvious that it was Pepsi instead of coke. There is more to our visit last evening that just didn't go right, burger order was mixed up, etc... Long story short, I want the old Digby's back good servers, good food selection, and a great atmosphere overall. It is just not what it used to be. read more

Disappointing. Had classic burger and fries with a coctail and cheese brick appetizer. Service was polite but slow. Cheese bricks (basically giant cheese sticks) were pleasant but were no longer hot when they arrived. The burger was overdone and not particularly flavorful. I enjoyed the coctail. read more

Nice place. What I couldn't get over was two people in our party found long black hairs in their food. Our waiter gave both people a voucher for a free appetizer but both parties said they wouldn't be back. My aunt ordered a caesar salad and was served a spinach salad with a clear dressing. When she asked the waiter he that is our caesar salad. He did not offer to bring her something else. The wings were not cooked, still bloody on the inside.The lock on the ladies restroom door did not function! Meh. First, we arrived at 3:30 on a Saturday. It was moderately busy on the patio and very few inside. My water arrived with about 2 cubes in it. We were surprised they had no draft beer choices, but my fiance ordered a bottle of beer. My diet coke came in a dirty (lip smudges) glass. The 2nd time it had very little ice. Our meals took 45 minutes to arrive. Our waitress apologized two separate times, stating the kitchen was backed up. When the burgers arrived they were dry and unseasoned. To top it off, they allow smoking on the patio. Even outside, we prefer nonsmoking. Nothing special. Probably won't return. read more

I've noted that older reviews seem positive while recent reviews are much more critical. Unfortunately, our experience was not a happy one. We arrived at 6pm on a recent Friday night and the place was dead. It seems that this is a bar known more for drinks than food. We were handed menus that were old and torn. In fact they were so out-of-date that when I ordered the pork chop, I was told "we don't serve that anymore". I ordered a burger while my wife ordered salmon. It's clear that food isn't the primary reason people come here; it is an afterthought. Perhaps after enough alcohol one might appreciate their offerings. But despite a bottle of wine, we were not at all impressed. We won't return. read more

I ordered a wrap and Mac and cheese and loved it. It wasn't busy at the time so my friend and I let our girls run around while we ordered and waited for food.
