When we reached the third floor, where the mattresses were located, we were met with an empty room. Not a single person was present in the home furnishings section. After searching for a while, we finally found someone at the only functional register. They called someone to assist with the mattresses and promised that someone would be with us within 5 to 10 minutes. However, after 15 minutes, we returned to the register to follow up. We asked if we could see a manager, hoping they might be familiar with the mattresses and able to help us. Unfortunately, Dorenzo was nowhere to be found. The sales associate who was helping us was incredibly kind and apologetic for the inconvenience. She searched the entire store high and low but couldn't find the manager. She repeated her apologies and assured us that she would do everything she could to help us. We left the store feeling very upset. They were 3 brand new Switch 2 games, completely factory sealed and within the return window. An employee named BRYAN, a senior associate there that clearly didn't want to be there evidenced by his bed hair, told me that they could not accept the return because GameStop.com orders have a special return system and needed to be returned to specific stores around the country. That doesn't make sense for a completely unmarked, completely factory sealed game. Even worse, I had talked to GameStop.com customer service before going to the brick and mortar store who told me the returns were all cleared to be done at this particular store. Now I got to call them back, wait another hour to talk somebody and be told the same thing? This is crazy and HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. If this employee Bryan is incorrect, then he would've wasted one hour of my time to drive to the store, one hour of talking to customer service, and he was simply lazy to do the return himself (there was a line forming behind me). First off, Renee absolutely is THE person to own and run this place. She feels like a warm lovable character from your favorite book, the kind you reach for every now and then to read over and over again. I called recently because I really wanted to get my hands on a copy of Nikita Gill's new book "Hekate" and yes, I know I could just order it online from big box stores but I knew I wanted to support my local bookstore. Renee was quick and prompt and while she didn't have it in stock, she ordered it as quick as she could and I was able to go pick it up in the next day or so!
