I absolutely love this place. I went into the Dillard's at this location because the carry Chanel Beauty products. I was so blown away about the charisma and character of Ellie and Pamela at the Chanel bar. They were so profession and kind. Very rude workers I've noticed , I shop here all the time and I never see friendly workers at this location , they all are always acting like it's a real pain to have to put things away and that they didn't know when they got hired it's part of their job !!!! We are here to shop and you are here to help and put stuff back if we don't buy it. This one older lady always comes over and says are you done with these and I say yes and she gives me the dirtiest look for she has to go put them back now. Then I went to return two lipglosses in makeup section and the lady with a foreign accent and dark hair working in the makeup area wouldn't return them cuz I only had paper receipt and said there is no boxes. I have the receipt !!! Then she said I couldn't return a hat with her that I needed to return it to the hat department. I went over to the perfume counter and the lady there gladly returned the hat. I am going to stop coming to this Dillards altogether. I will begin to only shop online now. The rude workers and the lazy workers in this world today make it an ugly experience anymore for customers. read more

So I was in Dillard's on Thursday 4/27/17. I spoke with Deborah at the Coach perfume counter. Her customer service skills were AMAZING!! Anyway she said that they were having complimentary facials at the various make up counters. I happily chose Sunday at noon with Chanel. BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER MADE. So I hauled my behind out of bed to Dillard's I was 3 minutes early. NO ONE WAS THERE. Some rude lady who was at another counter says the Chanel person should be there shortly. She yelled across the way at me. Anyway 12:15pm comes and the lady shows up looking frazzelled with excuses that she had nothing on the schedule. Asks me to wait another 15 minutes while she sets up. But I declined, I'm already 20 minutes over due. I dont have time to wait. Then she tells me I can reschedule for Tuesday. She made me feel like it was my fault. JUST BECAUSE ITS COMPLIMENTARY DOES NOT MEAN YOU TREAT ME LIKE CRAP AND INCONVIENCE ME! I *was* prepared to spend $$ today. I was so pissed I did not get anyone's names. Wasted my time! This Dillards is very clean and nice but when I went to go find a checkout I saw a what I thought friendly and nice lady checking out another customer so I waited and then when they left I politely asked if I could check out (she gave me a very rude look as if I was crazy which is why I asked). She said sure and then didn't talk with me at all or say anything to be just the total which was a mumbled slur of words I could barely make out. Keep in mind I had one thing, ONE! Then when it came to the part where the screen asked if I wanted to sign up for emails she reached over the counter and clicked no for me. What if I wanted to?? She's in customer service and as someone also in customer service I think she's in the wrong field, clearly. I was looking for a new jacket/blazer....I could not find anyone to help me....I found a very lovely lady who looked like Jacqueline Onasis who could not have been more helpful or efficient....she was so lovely...she gave me advise, which I needed and helped me pick the perfect Nygard blazer that I have received 4 compliments since I've worn it...I wish I could remember her name but she is an absolute beauty queen. Well, on this particular visit the associate in the men's department was pretty douchey. The associate was busy racking items and I guess did not see us approaching him as he walked back and forth putting clothes out. When we got close enough my bf asked him about a particular brand of clothing and with hardly any recognition replied in a rude and unprofessional manner. The people in the shoe department were very helpful for such a busy day. The clothing department and cosmetics similarly provided very good customer service. The sales are great. I also like that they changed their credit card rewards where you can earn $10 certificates and not just the 10% certificates. read more

This is one huge store. Walking through looking for the men's department I felt like I walked a mile. They have everything but no good sales going on when I was there. Store is clean and the racks and shelf's were in order. Plenty of associates around some friendly some well not so friendly. Sad part the unfriendly ones set a bad example and makes me wonder if I will return. Nice selection but the workers need to step up a bit. read more

I really like Dillard's and I am not just saying that because my future mother in law works there. My office is attached to fashion square mall so I am able to peruse Dillard's on breaks and keep an eye on when things go on sale. The sales are the key at Dillard's. Once every few months they mark everything that is on clearance an additional 30% off. I score tons of clothes for my nieces and nephews for next to nothing. I have also got some nice jewelry and shoes during this sale. Dillard's probably doesn't do it for all the Scottsdale folks who define themselves by the label on their jeans, but it works for me and my family. read more

It's too bad you can rate a store ZERO stars. Dillards is by far the worst store on the mall - especially the shoe department. Every time in the last 2 years I have walked through, not one person has even looked at me. I tried to get a pair of sale shoes the other day, but they didn't have my size, and the girl told me there was "no way" she could look to see if another store had them. We send people to the moon and you can't even LOOK for a pair of shoes. read more

I have to say last week I went into Dillards to purchase a last minute birthday gift. I purchase an item from the Coach dept. The girl was very attentive and wrapped in the Coach box, took the price tag off etc. Anyhow, she didn't have a ribbon, so I went up to the wrapping area and the associate put a creative ribbon, cute ribbon on the box. I was very impressed and fully expecting to pay a few dollars for the wrapping. No charge...she stated. What excellent service, which is why Dillards-Fashion Square is one of my favorite department stores to shop at. read more

Been shopping at this Dillards for 10+ years LOVE the help I get when I'm there.

This was my first time shopping at Dillard's for formal wear. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted by Jay who works as a Tailored Sales Specialist. Within 5 minutes of interacting with him, I already knew that I was having an overwhelmingly positive experience. His knowledge and expertise about suits was impeccable, and it was extremely evident that he is very passionate about what he does. I was in the market for suit pants, a belt, and a tie. He added a positive personal touch to the sale and was very patient when I was asking him questions. He explained every little detail about every piece of clothing I was interested in, and he tailored everything he said to make sure he was meeting my exact needs (no pun intended). He did not hesitate to walk me around various sections of the store to make sure that I was getting exactly what I needed. He had an immense amount of knowledge of everything from price to material to fit. This was--without question-- the BEST service I have ever received ANYWHERE! He is an invaluable asset to Dillard's and goes above and beyond to make sure that the customer is satisfied. He is more than qualified at what he does and easily deserves a raise. This was definitely not the last time I will be coming to Dillard's, and I will be sure to refer my friends and family to Dillard's for all of their clothing needs. Keep up the good work! read more

Dillards has been at Fashion Square for as long as I can remember coming to Scottsdale. It is a decent department store with a wide range of designers. Not a ton of the designers I like - I find most of what they sell for women is either too young (such as BCBG) or too fuddy-duddy (such as Reba McIntyre's clothing line) for my age range and style. But they usually have some pretty good sales, so I always pop in to see if I can find any unique Michael Kors, Calvin Klein or Elie Tahari pieces. There have been a lot of times I've seen an item in Canada and have gotten it a lot cheaper here. Great shoe department - I think they could do a bit more to spruce up their accessories department though. It is an older store and somewhat in need of a makeover. read more

I took my mother down here to the shoe department and I was shocked about how rude they were. They practically run to you trying to snag you as a customer but then they aren't that nice at all if you start acting like you don't like what they are trying to sell you. The Polo Shop is always a good place to begin a browsing session. The Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall has a reputation as being one of the PREMIER shopping venues in the Southwest. If it were up to me, I wouldn't even give this store one star. Like many of my fellow yelper's have stated, the service here is terribad. Someone I know went into this store to buy a purse. THE manager tells us that there is only one purse left, and starts walking away. We call him back, because we were obviously going to buy the damn purse. We noticed there was a smudge on it, and we let him know... Would you guys like to know what this disgusting piece of dung did? (I hate name calling, but this was beyond reasonable.) He spit on the purse, and tried to rub the smudge away. Right in front of us. He then tries handing us the purse. We stood there in shock, because we never expected this. Dillard's should really look into the type of people they hire. Just because this store is located in Scottsdale, does not mean you'll get treated with respect. read more

Horrible service. Came here looking for a formal dress, found one I liked and asked if an employee could look to see if the store had it in my size, since I could only find one on the floor. She responded with 'were not looking up anything in the computer today'. Then she turned to her coworker and continued to complain about how she had zero sales for the day. I came 10 days ago, on my moms birthday to gift her boot for her Safari trip. Looked around and found a simple waterproof boot but it wasn't available in her size. Was told they could order and have it delivered to my house. Upon check out, " the system was down" and was asked to leave my phone number for a call back when the system came back. No one called me for a week so we passed by on a Monday afternoon at 2pm and none of the associates seemed bothered to help. Finally I stood by the cashier with the shoe and two associates stopped by there with a shoe box dialed a number and wrote down details in regards to the box and walked away as I'm standing there with a shoe in my hand. I looked around and the other associates about voided eye contact with me. We were both dumbfounded as all we wanted was to order. I felt so sad as I wanted to buy my mom a gift for her Safari trip. It's her last trip after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. I don't care if the shoe cost a million dollars, anything for my mom. We walked away. I felt like crying but I couldn't in front of my mom. read more

I have only ever been to two Dillard's in my life in two different states and I have been treated like and ass both times. I came in for a pair of sunglasses that I could have easily gotten at the Hut. I thought I would get better service here. Right! I waited at the counter for 5 minutes before I asked for help. I now know who owns crusty the cat. The look on this broads face was priceless. I had already picked out the glasses I wanted to try on. Third time is the charm and I said I would take them. Not a word out of her. Now I am standing at the counter and I hand her my credit card..... Then I hear from the other side of the display that if I want to sign for my purchase I need to come to come over here? My friend looked at me and laughed. I walked over and signed for my purchase. The receipt was put on the counter and the associate walked away. I don't think I will never step into a Dillard's again. It can't just be my luck! read more

I don't know why I even bother going to any of the Dillard's stores especially Fashion Square. The lack of customer service is horrendous! The ladies shoe dept is huge and I can walk back and forth trying to find something and not one person will greet me or ask if I need assistance. Worst Dillard's I've ever been to! Associates aren't friendly especially on the ladies shoe department.

While I do not have a problem with the merchandise in the store, it has most of what anyone would want, I have a HUGE problem with a few of the employees. I was shopping today and tried on a few dresses that I decided not to buy so i put 2 back on a rack right outside of the dressing room and then put another I was debating on back on a different rack. I left after that with nothing. I got a few steps out of the store when a security officer stopped me and made me walk all the way back to the managers office at the back of the store. I inquired as to why I was being taken back, as i knew i had done nothing wrong, and he just smiled and said the manager would let me know. A couple of the women that worked in the department in which I had been shopping smirked as we walked by so I assume they maybe said something but of course I can't be sure. So I followed and he took me to the security office where I was asked to sit in the detaining room, which resembles a small cell. It was then that I had enough of the entire situation. I refused to sit down and another woman looked at me and asked if I had anything that belonged to Dillards. I immediately said no and opened my purse to show them. Of course there was nothing in there. I was given a quick shoulder shrug and a "sorry" before i opened the door and left on my own. While I understand that shoplifting is a serious crime, I feel like I should have been assumed innocent until proven guilty WHICH I ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT. I was expected to sit in a holding room without any reason as to why I was in there, and only a quick "sorry" when they realized they were wrong. read more
