We purchase a fragrance and move on to the MAC and everything I was looking for was out of stock the employee herself said we were better off at macy's and we were Macys MAC had everything i was looking for and more. The Dillard's in Sugar Land Texas @ First Colony Mall is my place for shopping. Love to buy MAC cosmetics here as the people here are so nice and helpful, The shoe department here is so neat and the prices are always visible, while the employees are very friendly and helpful. This store is always nice and clean and if I cannot find it in store the employees will always help with online ordering. Lots of parking here as they also have a garage a long with surface parking. read more

The manager at Dillard's Sugar Land, home department does not deserve to be a manager!!! I ask her some questions because there was nobody at the home department, so I saw this woman and ask her what I wanted to know , she presented her self as "the manager". When I asked her my questions, she didn't know the answers and is not just that, she didn't show any interest to help me, she even sent me to other Dillard's to find better prices!!! Unbelievable. I would give a a negative 10 stars if I could, but I can't. I am disappointed that I can't give a higher score for the employees because most of them give excellent customer service, however one manager is the reason why I have given this review one star and why I would prefer to give it a negative 10 stars. This specific manager is the cosmetics manager, I believe her name is Rosie; she is rude and disrespectful to the customers, especially when it comes to returns and/or exchanges; plus she is horrible to the employees. I shop at this Dillard's on a regular basis (at least 2-3 times per week), both the women's store and the men's store, but on this particular day I was in the men's store wanting to buy a fragrance for my brother when I witnessed this manager lecturing and yelling at her employees, and she was doing this all while on the floor in front of customers and other employees; it even sounded like she was accusing them of stealing instead of trying to research and figure out the reason for the discrepancy... VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! The reason why I know this is because, again, she was doing this on the floor in front of myself and other customers and employees; other customers even made comments to me about what she was doing and how it was unprofessional, degrading and disrespectful to the employees, as well as to us, the customers, because we had to wait for her to finish "lecturing" her employees before we could get assistance. There was another night that I was in men's store close to closing time and this same manager, Rosie, just happened to be there and it appeared she may have been closing the store, though I am not sure, but it seemed like she was. I had been in there for a while and lost track of time when I heard the announcement of the store closing soon. I finished grabbing the items that I needed in the Armani/Psycho Bunny area and was checking out. Behind me was a gentleman waiting to check out after me; he must have bought over $800 worth of clothing in that transaction, plus he had another 4-5 Dillard's bags already. The reason why I say this is because while this gentleman was checking out, I was waiting for my son to come out of the dressing room. The gentleman was done checking out and my son was out the dressing room prior to the final closing announcement, so we went to exit out into the mall since we had come in from the mall and not Dillard's, however the doors to the mall had already been shut and it seemed like they had been shut prior to the 8pm closing time and final announcement. The gentleman saw Rosie and asked about being able to exit out the mall doors and she blatantly refused; he politely asked again and stated that his pregnant wife was just outside the doors, but she yelled at him and in a very rude and callous tone told him that "we have been announcing for 30 minutes that the store was closing, you should have paid attention". He again politely asked and somewhat begged to be let out and she yelled at him even louder that he should have paid attention to the announcements and it's not her fault he didn't and he would have to exit out a different door and walk around. The customer became livid and and stated they were going to call the corporate office and complain and she just condescendingly told him to call 1-800-Dillard's. I was absolutely appalled at how she treated him and I was highly surprised that he didn't return everything that he had just bought because of how he was treated, I know that I would have. I am glad that I wasn't the one that asked about exiting out into the mall, because I probably would not have kept my composure if she had talked to me like that. I've worked retail as an associate and as a manager and I understand policies regarding the do's and dont's of closing a store, but taking the few minutes to slide one of the doors slightly open to accommodate a gentleman, whose pregnant wife is waiting for him just outside the doors, is not that hard and is not a huge issue, but Rosie sure made it one, and in front of other customers, myself and my son, and several employees. She should absolutely NOT be a manager; she is EXTREMELY rude, disrespectful, and condescending person with a disgusting attitude!! I am so sorry this is so long, but I have held this in for far too long; and a recent incident where I heard her yelling at, what I assume was another employee, over the phone while on the floor is what finally prompted me to write this review. I don't know if there have been any other complaints about her, but I hope that something can be done about this, because the customers shouldn't have to be treated this way and the employees work too hard and don't deserve to be treated that way. DIllard's at the First Colony Town Center is interesting for a few reasons: it's brand new, it's huge, and it's composed of two different stores entirely - one for men and the other for women. What a novel idea. Take one massive department store and split it up into two sides for two genders, while taking up two prominent corners of the mall. It's a smart decision on Dillard's part, aside from segregating the male and female inventory, they can continue to emphasize on the corporate brand. It may feel like deja vu for some newcomers to the mall. The men's section is flawless. Since it's brand new, everything looks great. It's clean, the layout is easy to follow and the brands are well presented to allow people to shop diligently. Prices of course will fluctuate depending on the time of year, with no better time to come during the holiday season when prices are slashed dramatically. Sales associates here have been helpful and willing to go out their way to help me find a great deal. A friend of mine managed to score a nice pair of shoes here, for less than what was offered at TJ Maxx or Marshall's. I'll make sure to stop on by here the next time I'm in Sugar Land. read more

I have never, ever, ever been treated as poorly as I was today at Dillard's in First Colony Mall in Sugar Land, Texas. I had visited their establishment over the weekend at the recommendation of a friend to purchase new makeup. After having one employee go around me without so much as "I can be with you in just a minute" and two others trying to help, but not familiar with the product I wanted (completely understandable), I waited for 20 minutes until a very nice woman came to see if I needed help. They did not have the specific makeup I was looking for, but that day, she helpfully chose another brand to use instead. Although my initial impression was left wanting, I left that day happy with the woman who had helped me. When I returned home, I was able to find the product that I originally wanted directly through the brand manufacturer and ordered that instead. Today, I went back to the store to return the product I no longer needed. The young woman asked me if the product had been used. It had not. She opened the boxes and then informed me that they had in fact been used and the policy was that used products could not be returned. I understood the no-return policy as it was right there on my receipt, however, thoroughly confused, I repeated that I had not used the product. She showed me where the seal had been broken and what a new bottle should look like, and it was indeed a used product. She asked if I would like to speak to her manager and I said yes. The floor manager, Rosie, came to me after inspecting the product at the counter across from me. She very rudely repeated exactly what the young woman had told me, told me that I did use it, THEN she pointed at my receipt and said, "Can you not read? It's right here, number 2." with complete and utter hostility. Absolutely insulted, I explained that I was able to read perfectly well and understood the return policy, but again emphasized that I was more than a little confused since I had not used this product. She pressed on and fiercely and heatedly told me that she could show me every product on the shelf that had not been used if I needed to see it. I told her that I was already shown what a new product should look like and it was not necessary. She then again angrily told me that I had used the product and said "You wouldn't want a used product, would you?" At this point, I was finished. Of course I didn't want a used product, but that is what I ended up with. In addition to paying for a product that had been used, the way in which she conducted her manner, the rudeness and hostility, the way she berated me, and the absolute absurdity of the entire exchange left me speechless. So the only thing I could do was smile while she proceeded to throw the used makeup in a store bag and shove it at me. I left completely and thoroughly insulted and more than a little angry. I will say that my experience with Rosie that day was so horrible, I left the store crying. I can assure you I will never step foot in that store again. Dillard's has always been known as an upscale department store with the highest quality products and an emphasis on going above and beyond in customer service. This was certainly not the case today. This was a horrible representation of the brands their company partners with and their company as an entity as well. I truly hope that this experience is not repeated for future patrons. read more

I am a 19 year old hispanic male , tried buying a Christmas outfit when I was harassed and followed through out the store where an older tall white gentlemen followed me and sent employees to followed me. he then called mall security to be at the door and even got a video of them pointing at me. when I confronted both of them they told be to leave the store that I would be trespassed and the police called on me. this also isnt the first time in a way seems racially motivated. disgusting behaviors. Great parking. Excellent shoe and handbag department. Both well stocked and sweet, helpful employees. Jewelry- good luck finding someone unless you are specifically needing James Avery. Cosmetics- Estee Launder is the only cosmetic section worth visiting. The employees are kind and professional. Kids shoes- employees are rude. They do have a great selection of Uggs! Baby department is well stocked and children's clothing is also a great place to find what you need. The selection of dresses for girls is fantastic. Home goods is well stocked and you are sure to find what you need. Good luck finding someone to help you when you need it! The ladies department looks well stocked but it isn't. I've never had good luck finding anything. Fashion and size. Be careful with the employees, they are liable to fight for your business. Even so much as trying to shove you in a dressing room... because maybe you'll just like those stretchy pants that nobody under 100 should be wearing. They have restrooms on both floors, so that's a plus. Also- there is a nice furniture department tucked away in the back upstairs. Good deals on floor models if you're in need and don't want to pay full price. Dillard's always hosts great "after-hour" sale parties. Even when it's not an invitation only event, the prices when they go on sale are amazing. An extra 30% off already reduced items after each major holiday is a plus. If you're willing to try your hand at that. It's a great store and when you get to know the employees better- you definitely have a better shopping experience. I happen to really favor this Dillards...even over the Galleria location. It's closer, I always find parking too. (Park by the young women's side) Reason 1- They are always neat and organized, the kids selection is great and they ALWAYS have great sales on kid's clothes and shoes. The staff is usually very helpful as well. Reason 2- They carry Kate Spade bags! The Galleria location does not and that always makes me mad. Like why not? You're huge! Reason 3- Its Mac counter is the bomb.com. Love those ladies. And their selection. Very decent Dillard's in my book! read more

Limited petite sizes thus the reason I don't shop Dillard's nationwide but today I remembered that I had a gift card that had been rotting in my purse for 2 years, put on the brakes and hung a hard right. Plenty of parking spaces, you do not need the free valet. Clean, spacious aisles except for women's shoes, a mess. Shoes of course are not the right size in the right box. Clearance items of 65% off are still pricey, $40 for a Ralph Lauren poorly made t-shirt, absurd. $400 handbags, better priced at Nordstrom's, no deals here to be had. Costume jewelry limited, sunglasses plentiful, snagged a pair and made my exit. No Christmas décor yet, housewares, crystal, limited name brands or selection. Sheets are comparable to what you find at Bed Bath & Beyond, nothing special. Sales professionals tripping over each other looking for shoppers. Saw no sales associates in men's or children's sections. Staff were helpful and plentiful in makeup, perfume, watches and jewelry. read more

I have visited this location 2 days in a row and today the service I received was excellent. The first day I had 3 different people look me in the face and not ask me if I needed help and I did. I left without purchasing anything and went to Memorial City mall Dillard's. I usually receive excellent service from a lady their but I found out she no longer work there and no one else offered to help. Not even the person that said she no longer work there. Now I am back at First Colony location and Ahmad customer service was outstanding. I have have to say he could teach his co workers a thing or two about customer service. read more

I visited Dillard's in First Colony Mall in Sugar Land, TX with my wife on Saturday March 8 around 2:00 p.m. for her to try on some business suits for work. We made out way through the second floor woman's wear and she selected several suits to try on and I carried them for her. I only observed there to be about 3 or 4 customers in the entire woman's part of the store and at what seemed like at least three sets of dressing rooms. My wife asked me to accompany her to the dressing room for help hanging the clothes up after she tried them on and advice. We entered a set of women's dressing rooms with four stalls and no one was in any of the stalls so we chose the handicap stall for its roomy size. My wife tried on the clothes as I gave her feedback on the items that she was trying on and hanging up the items when she was done. As we gathered up all of the garments that she was trying on there was a knock at the door. We were in the process of exiting the room so I opened the door and there was Theresa, a Dillard's employee standing there and Theresa very rudely informed me that I was not allowed in the dressing room. I asked why? Theresa advise "just because you are not". That not being a good enough answer, I asked "what am I doing wrong". Again, Theresa had no answer. She just said that men are not allowed in the dressing room and that someone complained. I advised Theresa that there was not a sign at the entrance saying "No Men Allowed in Dressing Room", nor any chairs for my to sit in outside of the dressing area. She told me it is just the policy at which point I asked to see this policy as I have assisted my wife like this in the past with no problems. Since Theresa could not answer my questions and had lots of attitude I asked her to see the manager and this is when she informed me that she was the manager in such a tone that my wife became very upset! I asked to see her manager and she insisted that I could settle the issue with her and I insisted that the issue could not be resolved between Theresa and I. She called someone on the phone and had a very sour tone with that person and got very defensive with that person. After the tense phone call, Theresa advised me that the other manager was in the mens store and we could go see her over there. My wife and I decided to do that as we were walking through the mall anyway. We stopped at the mens store and asked for the manager and were met by Amanda who was very hesitant to address the situation. Amanda was very rude and disrespectful to my wife and myself in public and refused to answer my questions. My question to Amanda was "Why was I advised that I am not allowed to help my wife with trying on clothes in the dressing room, What did I do wrong, what rule/ law did I break? Why are women welcomed into the mens dressing rooms by Dillard's staff every time that I shop there? Like I mentioned Amanda was VERY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL to us in front of everyone and walked off telling me that she was not going to discuss the situation. This is no way to treat long time Dillard's customers! I believe that Theresa mentioned that someone complained that I was in the dressing room is why she told me that I was not allowed in there and she has to make all of the customers happy. That confuses me, she might have made one customer happy but she pissed off two more customers. My thought for a more appropriate way to handle the situation would have been for Theresa to be much more tactful and possibly offer the complaining customer a room in one of the other sets of nearby dressing rooms. My wife and myself were publicly embarrassed by the actions of Theresa and especially Amanda. I would definitely like to speak with someone regarding this issue. read more

I recently bought a dress there for 160 dollars and two days later tried to return it with the tags still on and still in the bag. I had bought it for a wedding and then relized that I didn't think it was right for the occasion. So two days later I tried to return the dress. I first spoke to the dress manager who said she would not return it because it had looked like I had worn it. I told her the only time I had worn the dress was in thier dressing room when I had tried it on. She then told me that I had to have worn it because there was deoderant under the armpits of it. I looked and didn't see anything at all. I asked her to point it out and she pointed at the seam. Nope still didn't see anything. So after dealing with her who by the way was extreamy rude. I asked for the store manager, suprisingly she was at lunch and wouldn't be back for an hour. So frustrated I called my husband to tell him about the ordeal. He called Dillards and spoke to another manager and called me back to take the dress to the manager he just spoke to. So I went back again and showed the next mangager. He looked at it for about 3 seconds and then said no he would not return it, put it in a bag, handed it to me and then just walked away. Not even an appology for my inconvince. After this I was obviously getting mad and just walked out of the store. Then about 30 min. later my husband called me again and said he had spoken to the Store Manager, Mrs. Hester L. Williams and she said she would not take it back either, she didn't even see the dress. I never met with her. This is the worst customer service I have EVER recived!! read more

I would give a zero if I could because I just went to Dillard's because I wanted to return some thing and the lady was lazy and her attitude sucked because she was being so rude and we told the lady that we don't want to do the return anymore because we did not want a gift card and she just scanned the gift card and tried to give it to us and take our clothes but we did not let her and we did not take the gift card no matter what and she said she can't cancel it and she tried to argue with us about it and another lady came and she tried to argue with us as well and then she just said she will void the return. read more
