This guys Christopher (black dude) wearing white shirt maybe he's the manager try to CON me. Told me I need rotors and it's warped. I went to inspect and it looked fine. Try to tell me I need 4 rotors but the pads were fine! I don't think that's possible. Really tried to scam me thinking I don't know nothing. When I went in, I asked how much to change pads on Honda CRV. Was told $150 for each axle. Not sure if that was really a good price but if only pads should be like $80 front and back each? Anyway, he wanted business just tryna scam me!! Don't go there. I think all these Mavis's do the same This place looks nice but it's a complete scam. They scam their own black people too cuz I hear this Christopher told his peep 4 rotors and pad cost him $500? Wtf?

When I arrived I waited 45 minutes to be told I need a new tire which would have to be ordered and that they weren't aware I needed a tire and thought I wanted them to "check" my tires. I Make another appointment and go in the next day wait another hour and they say the ordered the wrong tire. Have to go back a third time. Then they actually replaced the tire and the sensor light is still on making it a fourth trip back to Mavis for a tire. They were nice enough but just an incompetent experience for me.

I did not , it couldn't have been driven on anyway. He says "you drove on this". I assured him I did not. He then called me back and stated "you know what , you're right. I took a look at it myself and it wasn't driven on". He told me he might be able to patch it and I asked for an oil change. He did their song and dance about better oil , dirty filter ... I let them do that & I went there and paid. When I was going to leave, in the lot , my brake pedal went to the FLOOR. No brakes. I spoke to the same guy and asked what the hell happened . He got in the car to see and said "the car was like that when it arrived" it was not. Then , he began to get arrogant and cocky stating "miss ... I'm not paying for your brakes!" He spoke to me like I was running a scam on THEM. Like I was trying to get some free work. I was cursing at being accused of such a thing and he had the audacity to point out my language. I stated we should call the police . I just wanted it documented. Then the nasty manager said "well take a look at it for no charge to see what is wrong" I get a call , they were asking for over $2800 !!!! Full brake assembly. Rotors , pads , etc. I had it towed to the shop of a mechanic who used to own a towing company. He stated there is no way this damage was created by the tow. I've contacted Firestone corporate and filed a complaint. I'm also filing in small claims court. Was it worth it to try and milk me for more money Jonathan ? Because I'll see you in court. The damage they did is $500. A lot of green between 2800 and 500. Firestone Bayonne are scam artists. They are robbing customers. We're not done here. Promise

I brought in my BMW with a power steering rack issue as well as the part and he immediately nodded no and said along the lines "I don't wanna go near a BMW". A couple of local friends recommended this place, and boy, am I glad they did! Vinny, the owner, totally got that I needed the bare minimum to pass. He fixed only what was necessary and didn't try to upsell me on a bunch of extra stuff. He did point out some "weaknesses" he spotted, which was helpful to know for future reference. The service was super quick, honest, and exactly what I needed. They really know their stuff. They've been in business for 26 years - that says a lot! The staff was super friendly and professional too. If you've got an older car or just need honest, reliable service, I highly recommend Midtown Auto Repair. PROTIP: If you're worried about passing inspection, these are definitely the guys to see. They'll get you sorted without breaking the bank.

Once they located and patched the hole, they left a large amount of excess tire patch (plug) - over 1 inch - hanging outside the tire so now it looks like I ran over a huge piece of gum. Very sloppy work. I would not feel comfortable bringing my car for something more serious.

As a realtor, I rely heavily on my vehicle, and this issue was urgent especially with a snowstorm approaching while I was out of state in Florida. Julio quoted me $3,800, but said he would charge $2,800 if I paid cash. I paid him in full. When I returned from Florida and picked up my car Monday morning before work, the exact same issue happened again less than an hour later. I immediately brought the car back, which caused me to miss work. Over the next four days, I experienced extremely poor communication and customer service. I was then charged an additional $1,260, bringing the total to over $4,000, despite the original problem never being resolved. During this time, Julio forgot to order parts, Blamed Mercedes for delivery delays that were his responsibility Completed only part of the work he originally quoted, later denied ever quoting $3,800 or offering a $2,800 cash price The lack of accountability, shifting explanations, and failure to resolve the original issue made it clear that he was not trustworthy. I gave two stars in hopes the work he did was good work.
