So, if there is something you are looking for, just ask! Most of their items are new, although they do have some slightly used items. (But most things are brand new) The prices here are great! My son picked up a wireless keyboard and mouse for $20! Brand new in the box. We found them online for $65 minimum!! They also have a large number of bikes of all kinds and sizes, kids ride on toys, baby items, patio furniture, home decor, and small kitchen appliances. You name it, they probably have it. If not, just ask and the owner will try and get it for you. They get new merchandise in regularly so it's worth stopping in to see what's new. They have a great page on Facebook that shows a lot of what they have as well as new arrivals. I highly recommend you come check them out for yourself or give them a call if there is something specific you are looking for.

08/22/26- Grand re-opening today at the Pi'ikoi location…read more It's hot out here. No shaded area to stand until a person who was waiting with us opened the gate to let us stand under the covered area in front of Daiso. Thank goodness. There's already over 25 people waiting in line to get inside! Wow! This is how popular Daiso is with Hawai'i locals. We are fifth in line here ; ). The 30 Goody bags were gone by 9:20 am.! I secured my bag! See the photo for the reveal. Daiso also has a new Pet Icon. I didn't take a picture of it. You'll have to go check it out! Cute and adorable. The organization of the merchandise is cleaner and better now. Well lit and fully stocked. It appears to have many more items available now. Service was fast and efficient today. There were more cashiers and employees to help us around. Although Daiso prices have steadily increased, you can still find good deals here and there. Good luck Daiso on your grand re-opening!

Exploring around Kalihi noticed Aloha Overstock which is one of many warehouse type of small businesses right off of Waiakamilo Road and here is Aloha Overstock which I do check out if they have an Instagram account as well and was happy to have found them and decided to check them out. Not really being in the loop but there were no flags given as we found out that it was an only an online shop...oh! There were even a lot of snacks here that I found in Japan which was amazing to see so I grabbed a lot of those. Comparing these prices to other stores around the island, we found that Wholesale Unlimited was the best bang for our buck. The worker (I never got her name) was so friendly! We were chatting about some of her favorite snacks and we got to sample some as well.

Anyway we shop here every time we need Japanese and other Asian ingredients. Like when I got obsessed with Japanese rice, Don Quijote was my first stop. Or when I was obsessed with saba and stocked up on packs of frozen fillets. Or when I wanted cheap sake for DIY skincare. Huge selection of everything - cosmetics/skincare as soon as you enter, souvenirs, fruits and vegetables, bakery, aisles of ramen and snacks, etc. Interestingly, the hot food section serves a variety of local Filipino items as well. While conveniently open 24 hours, Don Quijote is not the place to pick up freshly prepared food before 6:00am (despite what Google told me). Jet lag was rough last week and I started work earlier and wanted bento for breakfast. I only saw pre-packaged sushi from the night before. No musubis either. But the inside is as brightly lit and clean and safe as at any other time.

I've been to so many and each and every one is very unique where you can find either fashion runway stage, live street art, or even a dance night in the barn. I just love the vibe SALT and surrounding Our Kaka'ako brings with the vibrant art we're so blessed to have and this particular night (November 19th) there was actually much more shopping just perfect for the holidays and the party went further down to Ya-ya's. Tonight I was fortunate to have gone after work so I kept it short but found some awesome treats. Some straw toppers to add to my holiday gift giving and some cheesecake cups (OG, Strawberry and Cookie Butter) of course I got one of each to share...ate the Strawberry which of course omg was yummy!! Not too sweet as the Strawberries was just perfect as I tried to get an even scoop of it all in every bite. Walked further down and honestly wasn't in the mood to wait too long for anything found something that would just exactly work for me. Ya-Ya's Chophouse & Seafood and tonight they had two items - Steak Kebabs - Fat Fried Rice with TAB (aka Thick Ass Bacon lol!) I seriously wanted the fried rice but thought that the Steak Kebabs was more sensible for me personally and it came with two kebabs each fully loaded with steak, mushrooms, peppers and onions with a huge scoop of rice! So many options I really was considering including Henna from Henna Happens, Birria Tacos from Dolce Vita, Corn from Corn Onoz Hawaii but though there's always a next time yes!?! Located in Marks Building I noticed this shop as I finished mailing a package and since i found metered street parking decided to give them a browse. As soon as I walked in and obviously seen it from outside is some Hello Kitty merchandise and decided that i had to give them a browse all very selected and not seen at many places is something that i browsed carefully. Of course not limited to Sanrio characters but some Disney and Pokémon as well. Lots of Funko Pops in the back wall all displayed with care i can see this shop is a collector's dream as i also notice some Pokémon Legos that I really wanted but no did not need making this shop a fun place to shop for that hard to find items. The staff here was nice as I browsed around with many of the items are collectors dream the prices actually are quite nice and with the Pokémon Championship coming into town places like this is a gem and a great place to shop at and many must scavenge around here as I can see why. You see Funkos everywhere, but there's only a few places where you can buy and sell, and this store might be the only ones that carry brand new Funkos as well. Let's welcome a new store to Hawaii that keeps us adults young at heart, The Scavenger's Vault. I first saw this store when I went to Mei Sum across the street as I saw a wall of Funkos through the clear glass. I had no idea what exactly it was, but someone posted about this store, and I was there the next day! The Scavenger's Vault is a small Funko specialty store that really has a wide variety of items that are brand new, hard to find, and probably some secondhand. You won't know it because ALLLLL the Funkos are specially encased in a quality plastic case with the store's name imprinted on top. Immediately there, you can see the care and pride the owners take for their items. Everything was super organized, clean, and easy to see. All the prices are very fair. Better than other places. And the variety is better! Better than the "other" store 5 minutes away. I seriously never bought anything from that store after several visits, but on my first visit to The Scavenger's Vault, I bought something! The owners are very friendly and nice, and kindly explained to me their business. They also have a stall at the Aloha Stadium swap meet and participate in various events. Overall, this store is awesome. Owners are great, and take pride and care for their Funkos. I really want to go again, but I do need to cut back on this stuff lol.

I love the produce department which features imported produce from Japan. Although pricey the quality and taste are Top Notch. Local produce is fresh and vibrant. The fresh meats and seafoods are replenished daily always fresh. Sales associates and cashiers are always helpful and friendly.

I Heart Marukai…read more Going to Marukai is like being in a candy store for me. Entering the store, my senses are barraged with upteen choices, starting with snacks. Really have to hold myself back as I could subsist on Japanese snacks alone lol. Love that freshly milled rice is available here, amongst the myriad of bagged rice choices. Hot and cold food available here, along with poke bar and food items of regional fairs regularly held here. Getting here may pose a challenge with lane closures due to rail construction. Once you get here, finding parking is usually not an issue (save special holidays). Perhaps tonight I will be dreaming of having a shopping spree at Marukai where I get to consume what I wish to my hearts delight!

I went to this Daiso location because the one on Piikoi is being renovated…read more Before going there I called the store to ask about parking. They were very helpful, pleasant and patient. They told me to park in the Pantheon Garage, same building as the store as well as other businesses. Address for the Pantheon Garage is 71 South Pauahi St. The entrance is located off Pauahi Street, a side street. Guest parking is available on the first floor only. You turn into a narrow lane and there is directions and a card scanner on the left side of the wall. You need to scan your credit card to enter the garage. When I scanned my card it said $10. It doesn't give you a parking ticket but make sure you know the license plate number for your car. Downside, parking is limited and stalls are narrow. Once you park, look for the corridor which brings you out onto Fort Street Mall. Exit, turn right and right again then you will see Daiso. A security guard is stationed in and around the garage at all times. After you make your purchase at Daiso, be sure to let them know you parked in the Pantheon Garage and give them your license number. You will be refunded for your parking payment. The charge will show up as pending but after a day or two it will be refunded. To exit the garage, just drive up to the gate and it will automatically open.
