    french dip

The vibe of Dillon's is definitely the highlight. It's connected to the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium, and a big part of the restaurant looks into the shark tank, so you get to watch shovelhead sharks, a zebra shark, and other fish swimming while you eat. The bar side has a patio that faces the flamingo enclosure, which is also a fun and unique touch. That part alone makes the visit worthwhile. As for the food, I ordered the French dip. It was okay, but not great. The prime rib was really fatty and overly smoky. If you like smoky and fatty meats, you might enjoy it more than I did. Portion size was fair, but the au jus wasn't really au jus--it was more of a substitute sauce. Fries were good, though portions seemed inconsistent from table to table. We got a decent amount, but others around us had noticeably more or less. The service left a lot to be desired. It wasn't packed, but our table felt neglected. Our waitress was forgetful and we had to ask three times just to get to-go containers. On top of that, the food runner brought someone else's food to our table before realizing it wasn't ours. Nothing terrible happened, but the service was definitely off. Overall, the only real reason to visit is the cool atmosphere and the view of the animals. If it wasn't for that, I'm not sure I'd return just for the food or service. Worth trying once for the experience, but probably not a regular spot for me.

My wife and I were going to the casino and remembered our uber driving told us about Dillon's last time we went gambling. Since it's right across the street from the casino we decided to check it out. We were seated right away by the aquarium and were greeted immediately by our waitress. She took our drink orders and gave us a minute to check out the menu. My wife settled on the roast beef over Texas toast with mashed potatoes and gravy on top. I chose the French Dip since I have to try one at every restaurant we go to. My wife liked her meal, the Coleslaw she said was ok, but the meal was good. My French Dip was good. The meat had a Smokey flavor which was probably on the menu but I missed it. I'm not a huge fan of smoked meats but it was tender and had a good flavor. The fries were crisp and had a nice flavor. Our service was excellent, and the atmosphere while a little old feeling was super cool with the aquarium. We will definitely eat here again.

We had a day enjoy enjoying the zoo and aquarium together. Dillons was nearly attached to the wildlife park. We enjoyed margaritas and amazing barbecue dishes that offered plenty of options from full meat plates to adding sides and even offered salads or light bites if you have less of an appetite. Our server was new and the service was pretty slow however, once we got our food and drinks, everything was good. The ambience was nice because we got to see the aquarium inside the restaurant as well if you're looking for a good barbecue bite and afternoon fun I would recommend doing the wildlife park and stopping in at Dillons for a bite

Really this location and recent experience deserves gold or 6 stars. Consistency with this location has always been there, not only for the atmosphere but the service and food. We also spend hours are the zoo, we eat here... they even have the ability to walk through the aquarium Zoo entrance and get acces back into the Zoo when you are finished. Namely the most recent visit, Friday night we were in the area late and had a craving for brontosaurus ribs, you have to really support and celebrate a restaurant who is welcoming and provides great food and service within 30 mins of closing. Samantha our server was awesome, there was no hesitation or inclination that we arrived so close to closing (like many other places). Samantha was really attentive, friendly and we never felt rushed at all. Food was fantastic, we ordered 2 sets of the brontosaurus ribs (which we were so delighted they had them left close to closing too. In addition to service, my wife had been on cruise recently where they took a trip to see the flamingos, but they were so far away from the enclosure, she was disappointed. Samantha opened the patio for us and turned on the lights for us to get close to the flamingos. What a star. Thank you Samantha, we will be back soon.

When my Sister in law LOVES a restaurant I pay attention! She was spot on to suggest Dillon's. Even if you aren't heading to the Zoo or aquarium with kiddos in tow for the day it's a great dining experience! I hear the Brontosaurus are the favorite of my nephew! I wish I had splurged to share a rack with my grandson and a couple other family members! They look amazing! Staff is accommodating, kindhearted and attentive! Burgers were yummy, Fish Tacos nice and the beans... oh my MEMORABLE! Side salad isn't chintzy and OMG let's talk ONION RINGS! Simply delicious!! Not Greasy and the breading is a cross between tempura and what you would get at Sonic! Servings were ample too! Dip in the sauce provided OR order Pretzles and dip in that cheesy sauce! Worth the time coming to eat there id you are away or Driving through Phx eat here!

If you're in the area, especially if you have kids, make a point to grab a snack or a meal at Dillon's. The dining room has the giant aquarium built in and so many smaller ones throughout. The food is decent, probably how you expect. Service really was good on a busy Sunday. Prices are not ridiculously expensive but most entrees are $17+ Absolutely family friendly. It is a great family destination. The zoo is excellent but if you don't have time for the zoo you still get a great experience just in the restaurant.

The food is very mid...especially for the pricing. I get that you're at the zoo and can experience the flamingos but I think the food should match that. I got a taco salad that cost quite a bit and it literally tasted like nothing... you'd think they would season the meat so that it tastes like taco but it didn't taste like ANYTHING. The meat is VERY DRY.... Definitely not worth trying. The baby back ribs/ pulled pork and brisket were all dry and disappointing if bbq is supposedly your specialty. Also the homemade cobbler tasted like a jello bread pudding with freezer burned berries. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place or come back here... go elsewhere because this place is very disappointing for the money you're paying. Just go to the zoo instead

This review is purely of the Brontosaurus Beef Rib Platter that we ordered while visiting the Wildlife World Zoo. I often avoid the Dillon's restaurant at the zoo because of the many families and it is often too busy to enjoy a relaxing meal. This time we enjoyed a weekday visit to the zoo and decided to have an early dinner at Dillon's. I was happy to see that they still offer the Brontosaurus Beef Rib Platter as a big lover of beef ribs. Since I don't eat a lot of sugar I asked for my ribs with no BBQ sauce and I was told that would be no problem because they were smoked and would be good naked without sauce. And yes they were. The ribs were very good and lived up to their Brontosaurus name. I could only eat two and ended up taking the rest home to enjoy later!

This Dillon's location is next to the Wildlife World Zoo. This makes the patio a nice place to have lunch when the weather is good. The flamingos are definitely interesting to watch. The inside has a floor to ceiling aquarium with sharks and other sea life in it. The Carolina barbecue sandwich is the best thing on the menu if you are from that part of the US. Service is fine here.

    BBQ Beef Brisket Platter

Tried this place for the first time and idk if I will go back or recommend it tbh. The brisket was dry, the do inform u they add corn into there Mac n cheese. Wings were cold along w my brisket n the burgers. I don't like to complain much so we just ate the food. Only thing I enjoyed were the fries .

    Daysi G.

We had a great time at the aquarium in the zoo and decided to stop here for lunch. The service was great. The portions were huge. The kids really loved their food and sitting right next to the large tank was definitely nice We will definitely be back very soon

I was disappointed. I'll start with the positives - the service was impeccable. Absolutely perfect! Attentive, not too much, not too little, and very pleasant. The food was good. Not great, given the prices, but very good. What really, really bothered me was the environment. There is supposed to be a dress code for all Morton's restaurants across the country. This particular location clearly did not enforce it. People were there in flip flops, swimsuit cover, bandanas around their heads, torn t-shirts, shorts, and other sloppy clothing. When I come to a restaurant and pay at least $72 for a steak, I expect the dress code to be enforced. It was truly disappointing. As a side note, not that this is the restaurant's responsibility, but if you are coming to a high-end restaurant, learn some manners. I'm talking to the 30-ish woman sitting near us who was talking loudly, licking the bowls and her plate, chewing with her mouth open, and food was falling out, and allowed her cell phone to ring loudly while she ignored it and kept on with her disruptive and inappropriate behavior. She was dressed in a faded, frayed t-shirt, and dirty shorts. This is not how any neurotypical adult should behave in an upscale restaurant (truly, any restaurant). Anyway, overall, I was disappointed, and so was my husband. We like to frequent high end steakhouses, and we both agreed that Morton's would be last on our list to come to again.

I had never been to First Watch before, but I expected a wait. I checked in and was quoted 25 minutes for a party of four. After 30 minutes, I checked in again and was told I was second in line. A few more minutes went by, so I asked again, and now I was fifth in line. I was confused, and they explained that people checking in online could jump ahead of me. They also said they were unable to accurately quote a wait time, and that it could end up being much longer. I know many other places use a hybrid check-in system, and I've never experienced an issue like this. I understand when things simply take longer than expected, but tables were being turned over and people were being seated. I must have just been incredibly unlucky with the timing of people checking in online. After finally being seated about 45 minutes later, we put our order in right away since we were now going to be cutting it close. I'm used to breakfast places being pretty quick, but it took another 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We ended up being 15 minutes late to the movie. I expected the opening credits to still be rolling, so I wasn't too stressed, but we definitely missed the first five minutes or so of the movie. The food was pretty good, but my eggs were over hard when I had ordered them over medium. What disappointed me the most was that nobody seemed to care that the quoted wait time was so far off. There was no apology or acknowledgment. Our waitress was okay, but she avoided our table like the plague while we were waiting for our food, probably because she knew it was taking so long. Empathy and kind words go a long way.

Understandably so. The restaurant has a rustic feel with heavy wood beams and neutral-colored artwork throughout. It's warm, comfortable, and exactly what you would expect from a modern steakhouse. Service was very good. Could it have been a little faster? Sure. But I'm not going to knock them for that. It was Father's Day and I don't think I saw a single employee standing still the entire time we were there. In fact, one of my favorite parts of the experience was sitting close enough to the kitchen to hear everyone communicating. It sounded like a well-oiled machine. Organized, professional, and honestly pretty cool to witness. We started with the cinnamon rolls. They were fine. Nothing I am going to dream about later, but certainly nothing to complain about either. As for the entrees, my wife ordered the French toast, my father had the brunch burger, my father-in-law went with the smothered sausage biscuit sandwich, and I ordered the steak and egg tacos. Honestly? Everyone was happy. My tacos were loaded with well-seasoned, medium-rare steak and were exactly what I was hoping for. The cocktails were mighty tasty as well. Then came my favorite part of the meal. As we were wrapping up brunch, their whimsical manager stopped by and handed each of us dads a gift card to come back as a simple Father's Day thank-you. Completely unexpected, completely unnecessary, and exactly the kind of small gesture that people remember. Good food gets you in the door. Good hospitality gets you to come back. Firebirds delivered both, and my family would happily return.

Since we are vegetarian, we have to ask extra questions about sauces, stocks, and hidden meat ingredients. Miguel was extremely helpful with navigating the menu and made sure the items with meat stock were removed or avoided. That kind of care matters a lot. The food was also pretty good. A friend and I visited this restaurant on 06/22/2026 at 9:00am for breakfast. The dining area was not busy with just 3-4 tables occupied and a few people at the barstools. I was seated quickly by a hostess and given two menus while waiting for my friend to arrive. Menu: it's about the size of a Sears Catalog (exaggeration but about 8+ pages front and back) and appears to serve food approved by the United Nations (food from different parts of the world). This is the type of menu Gordon Ramsey would go crazy over and shred to pieces. Portions are not larger than before but prices increased considerably! Food: I ordered a Veggie Omelette with Spinach added and Whole Wheat Toast, decaf coffee, and water. My friend ordered an all-meat skillet, sourdough toast, coffee, and water. The omelette/skillet was overcooked and dry. My friend sent back his toast because it was served with a MOLD SPOT on it. Our server was not swayed by the mold and replaced it. No apologies or contact from the managers. By this point, we just didn't want to finish what we ordered and left. Dining room is well lit and spacious. Lots of available seating but could not help that their "Grand Opening" sign has been hanging outside for WEEKS. Servers are slow and never seem to be pleasant (more melancholy). Overheard one server speaking with some guests at a table using profanity. This review was based on my individual experience. This used to be our favorite breakfast spot but clearly is no longer the case. Having watched the gradual decline in quality and service, I am no longer inspired to spend my money at AZ Diner.
