The host who greeted us didn't make eye contact with me at all, a person with a disability. Instead of speaking to me directly, he asked the person I was with if I needed a child's menu. As an adult, being talked about rather than talked to was rude and honestly pretty embarrassing. It would have been much more professional to provide standard menus for everyone or just ask me directly if I needed anything specific. The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing. Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious: The bread and butter were warm and a great start. We had the bruschetta and a shrimp appetizer, both were hits. Our table ordered the cheeseburger and fries, the salmon, and two orders of the short ribs. Everyone loved their meal and had zero complaints about the food quality. The restaurant was packed and had a high-energy vibe, but the music was way too loud, it made it a bit hard to talk. The lighting was also a bit strange; it was very dark, and at several points, the lights would flicker or completely turn off and on again, which was a bit distracting. If you want to go on a Sunday evening like we did (6:00 PM), definitely plan ahead! We made our reservation a couple of days before, but by the time our day arrived, they were completely booked. I'd recommend making a reservation at least a week in advance to be safe. I would definitely come back for the food and the excellent waitstaff service, but I really hope management works with their hosting team on how to treat every guest with basic respect and direct communication.

You could tell other costumers were getting antsy with the wait. We shared a few appetizers (buffalo wings, Austin street tacos, and bbq chicken flatbread). The wings had good flavor but the quality of the chicken was not good. I still think about the tacos and flatbread. The combo of flavors were great! The brisket in the tacos was tender and so flavorful. And although he was not a trained bartender, the hibiscus martini he put together was yummy.

When I inquired about it with my server he opted to tell me that this is how the dish is normally made despite 1) the ingredient not being listed on the menu 2) the fact that I've had this exact dish at the DTPHX location without the extra ingredient. I felt there was a missed opportunity by this server to care or try to take accountability. There is an unusually high upcharge (in my opinion) if you want to do truffle fries instead of regular fries with your entree. To be honest, I'd skip the extra $5 charge and just go with the regular fries, both are good but $5 is steep for some last min truffle oil, parm & parsley.. He was by the bar and we got talking about the weather, Texas, NY and life. Still early so he pulled up a chair next to my table and we continued our fun dialogue. Turns out this down to earth and very sweet guy is the owner Emilio Kimble. His wife Maria, also a sweetheart and he have brought this same natural love, care and service to their beautiful restaurant. The restaurant is big with indoor and outdoor seating, a gorgeous bar and tv's galore. My friends Barb and Luci arrived and they got their " usual" Tito's and soda plus a Cab. My Diet Coke was refilled constantly by the our very attentive waitress Emily. The food was stupendous. It had to be as Emilio's and Maria's love was contagious- Luci loved her Diamondback burger( photo). Barbara got really quiet ( a rarity)as she chomped on her tremendous pulled pork burger(;photo) and I got a special tuna salad on wheat with grilled peppers and onions and fresh avocado( photo snapped before I inhaled it). It was a beautiful sandwich. The fries were hot, crispy and tasty. It was a great meal. Big portions too. The regulars poured in and the laughter and fun continued as we moved to the bigger room for the Thursday night trivia. I didn't know that. I called the number to speak to somebody to open the gate and the guy told me I had to go around. I tried to explain the guy I didn't know how to go around because I'm not from this area. He then stated "well if you didn't cut me off, I was about to tell you". That was enough for me to tell him don't worry about it. I'll figure it out. I pull up to the other gate and it's him that standing there. He asked me where I'm going and I tell him then, he rest his elbow on my car, tries to look me in the eyes and says "it was really rude of you to hang up on me like that" I explained to him "I didn't like the tone of your voice that's why you got hung up on". He then says "well, what's the address of the place you're going to" like he doesn't know where I'm going You don't need this kind of trouble just to try to go somewhere to get a bite to eat. We ended up just taking the high top to negate any further confusion with a time estimate. It's crowded inside, and your table is crowded. The energy and atmosphere is tense and overwhelming. It's a sports bar, though- so I feel like that's consistent with any other sports bar you'd pop in to. We decided on the build your own appetizer to start, it came out room temperature. While our server was taking our order for the rest of the food (there was apparently an issue with the table next to ours and their food being taken to the incorrect table, again with poor training) the manager went out to the table next to ours to deliver food and turned to the server at my table, taking my order, and interrupted me to yell at her. He yelled at her about putting the incorrect table on the tickets and the food going to the wrong table, yelled at her the right table numbers( I guess for her to remember next time?), and then stormed off.
