The ladies at the front desk were all very friendly and the groomer made sure she knew exactly what we wanted. She did SUCH a great job!!! He looks adorable. He's a doodle and had some matting and she was able to shave just where he was matted and leave everything else fairly long (like I asked). Typically when I pick him up from other groomers, he is completely shaved from being matted but not here. He is so soft and fluffy. I also love that they are a stay and play!! So you can drop your dog off at any point, and pick them up at any point during business hours. No late fees, no extra charges!!! I love this- I always hate planning my day around when my dog is going to be ready at other groomers. It seemed like the dogs were just wandering around the grooming area and there was a little area for strictly playing, but it's not like they take them to a separate room or outside, but I still love how they socialize and aren't caged!! It was pricy- at other groomers I have paid $80-$90 for a groom and here it was $105, but that also includes getting to play and socialize for as long as you need, so I think it's worth it!! I brought my dog here for a full groom. They told me it would be $80-$100 based on his size. When I arrived the environment felt very stressed from so many dogs barking. I was told he would be ready in 4 hours. I called after 4 hours and they said they were starting him then. After 6 hours he was ready for pick up and then they told me it cost $120!!! I could tell my dog was stressed and he was shaking. I would like to say that the groomer was amazing. She came out and talked to me about what I wanted before dropping him off and called me when he was ready and was so sweet. I think the management is over booking things. If I dropped my dog off at 10am and he isn't ready until 4pm that is ridiculous. I will not be going back . read more

I am so happy I brought my dog here! I have a maltipoo and we were going to Petco, but decided to try a grooming location that specialized in curly dog hair. I reached out to them via text and was informed of an opening the following week. Dropped my pup off and he went to play with the other small dogs until it was his turn to get groomed. I was happy with everything, including my pup's haircut, until it was time to pay. I was quoted $75 for the service, but when I went to pay, the cashier told me it was $80 plus an additional $2.40 for payment processing fees. At that point, I expressed my concern about the extra fees, and the cashier argued with me, claiming that she had nothing to do with the $2.40 fee and that the additional cost was "ONLY $5.00" in the most condescending tone I have heard in my adult years. She also said that the quoted price was different until they saw my pup. However, I had brought my pup in when I made the appointment and was quoted $75. She ended up grabbing my groomer and bringing out my precious pup. How could I be mad anymore lol? They honored my $75 quote and I left. My point is that the quoted price should be honored without any argument or tone. Moved to Charlotte 2 months ago and struggled with searching for a good groomer for my 65lb goldendoodle. I stumbled upon this shop through recommendation ms through the fb Charlotte doodle romp group! We went there a few weeks ago to get a nail trim last minute without an appointment. The owner was very accommodating when I called to ask if they take walk ins and she was able to trim my doodle's nails right away without trouble.Today, my doodle got a full groom here! I was very pleased with the consult about the cut when I came in and the end result of the cut (which was what I explained to the owner that I wanted)! Originally trying to find the shop was difficult, but I learned that you need to park in the laundromat lot off of Tryon and it is just a short walk around the side of the building. I would recommend calling at least a week ahead of time to schedule a full grooming as they fill up fast! They also have an open environment inside the shop and have a day care so the dogs can let out some energy. Very happy with both my experiences here and would highly recommend to anyone! read more

It was my first and last time here. When I was picking up my Dog I saw this woman brushing another dog SO HARD, even the dog moved his/her head to try to stop her... I took my little guy there today and they did a fantastic job! From the moment I got there they loved on my little guy as if he were their own! His cut was exactly what I asked for! They were able to see my Aussie pup on short notice and when I got there she sat me down with a note pad and asked me exactly what I wanted for MaryAnn (my Aussie's) trim! And they did an AMAZING job with her sanitary trim! Just what we wanted! They were also super accommodating to the face MaryAnn has a cut on her face from doggy camp and had to wear a cone. They kept her away from the other dogs and kept her face dry! The price was beyond reasonable and MaryAnn seemed to have a good time! She didn't have much of a canvas to work with after the hack job by the mobile groomer, so my expectations were low, but he came out looking great! Having that great experience, we took our older dog there a few weeks later. He normally hates being groomed, but he was happy as could be when I picked him up later, and looked like a million bucks! Dilworth Dog Grooming doesn't have great communication, and they are in a somewhat unassuming area, but they provided the BEST care and service for my 6 month old, somewhat anxious puppy. They treated her like a queen! The groomer, Carla, came out to talk with me for 15 minutes before taking my puppy back. She asked for photos of what I wanted and really delivered on what I asked for. They texted me with an updated pick up time and I asked if I could pick her up 1.5 hours later because of work, and they said of course! They were flexible, kind, well-priced, and my dog seemed to love being there. I also love that they are a free-roaming groomer, meaning the dogs are not in cages. This was great socialization for my pup and really helped with her anxiety. Highly recommend if you have a Doodle! They know what they are doing! Very good service! I have been coming here for a few months now or since I moved back in May. My Bruno comes out looking like a happy new pupper and smells so clean! I love that all the dogs can play together (separate from small to big) while they wait to be shampooed and/or trimmed. The stylists there have a great way of dealing with the customers/dogs. In this pandemic year my old groomer had to let go many of their employees including the person that did hand stripping. They did a great job and I asked that they not leave his beard and they did follow those directions. Slightly odd set up where they have several doggie customers roaming the floor among the groomers. I initially started using Dilworth Dog Grooming for our Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix after an overwhelming recommendation on Next Door. I already knew she came highly recommended for doodle hair cuts but she also does great job with a terrier /teddy bear cut as well! On our first visit, Chris actually sat down with me and my dog, looked at her skin and her fur and got a brief history. I was very impressed with this since most other groomers will quickly ask about the type of cut and length and that's about it. I've been really happy with the grooming and cuts so far. I've taken my pup here half a dozen times and I'm happy to have found them. They take the time to sit down with you to go over your needs every time, which is totally unexpected. They are genuinely happy to see my dog when we walk through the door and even have his name written on the board as a guest. They are always done when they say they will be done and, more importantly, my pup looks fantastic when they are done. Unlike a lot of grooming parlors, the waft of wet/dirty dog does not hit you when you walk in here because they take care of the place. My 7lb toy poodle went in for grooming and literally doesn't even look any different than when I dropped her off. It's obvious she was bathed and brushed slightly. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but after my last visit here I feel compelled. This place is tiny. I wouldn't have a problem with that IF they properly managed the number of dogs that they allow to run/play freely around the grooming stations. It's clear safety is not of concern. I have an 11 lb Maltese that, after dropping off, was placed outside of their "small dog" area where all the large dogs (40-100 lbs) circled him with no supervision by the staff until I asked he be placed in the small dog area (which was met with annoyance). When I returned much to my surprise there he was with the large dogs again. When brought to their attention, they shrugged it off. I'm shocked the health department hasn't taken their license for how carelessly they manage their business and clients' pets. Aside from that, the few times they've groomed my dog the cut was not as requested (picture was even provided). There are MUCH better groomers in Charlotte where safety and well-being is a top priority. I will never take my pup there again. read more
