Absolutely excellent experience all around! I waited until after my 6 month check up to write my review so I got the full experience. Providence changed my life in such a meaningful way! From the moment I spoke to someone about my interest in LASIK I felt valued. The initial consultation was informative and didn't feel rushed even though I had many questions. I didn't feel like I was being sold or pressed on making a decision at any point. The full staff are knowledgeable and anyone I asked a question to had an immediate answer. The office also has a text feature where I can text questions or even change appointments quickly and easily which was great for me. The providers were friendly and open with communication; specifically during the surgery itself. I was a bit nervous during the procedure but Dr. Mozayeni does a full walk through of every step prior to and during the procedure to make sure I had real time knowledge. They truly do have their processed dialed in perfectly! I would not describe the procedure as painful in the least but you do feel a bit of discomfort on the ride home. I'm here for my last follow up appointment and my experience with Dr. Mozayeni and his team has been amazing! They have been doing a great job with staying COVID safe, wiping down everything and having exam rooms labeled "clean". Now for my actual surgery experience- perfect. I can't believe I didn't do this sooner!! Just a few min for a lifetime of vision? The staff was super friendly and patient, they made sure all your questions are answered. Prior to this place, my eye doctor had suggested another place that actually closed down due to COVID. Before it closed though I did go in for a consultation and the experience was not the same as Providence. It was a nurse that did the consultation, I don't think most consultations are offered by the surgeon like it is here. At the free consultation they do not pressure you at all to get lasik and they instead just offer the options they have available. They were booked out for a few months before I could schedule the actual surgery but it was well worth the wait. You know they're the best in Charlotte when they're booked out like that. Just had Lasik done yesterday and feeling amazing! From my first call to Providence eye until now, I have felt cared for and well informed every step of the way. Every staff member at Providence eye is genuinely warm and caring but most importantly knowledgeable. The communication between staff members is fantastic-making the patient experience much easier. I felt so comfortable knowing that everyone was on the same page. Despite the fairly simple pre and post op instructions they were repeated to me just the right amount of times, in writing and in person. I was made to feel completely comfortable to ask any questions at all! Dr. Mozayeni was friendly, warm, informative, very detail oriented and thorough. He didn't try to sell me on Lasik, but rather educated me and was informative about my options. Dr. Mozayeni Performed my Lasik last week. I was nervous and didn't know exactly what to expect. He and His staff set the proper expectations. Making sure I was informed of what was happening every step of the way. I fully trust his word, and his results speak for themselves. I went from seeing 5 fingers, at 5 feet, to 20/20 vision in less than 24 Hours. Updates post lasik! I'm still very very happy with the service provided by the staffs at Providence.. Kristen and Allison have been great with answering my emails. They check in on you 2 days prior to your set appointment. Go thru what needed to be done such as starting my antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds. They also go thru what will happen on the day of the surgery! I'm very grateful for Kristen and Allison. However, after surgery. I wasn't very happy with Dr. Mozayeni. He did call to check up on me around 6pm to see how I'm doing. I said I'm still sleepy due to .50mg before surgery and 1mg of Xanax after surgery, that I have taken that morning. And he said I shouldn't be sleeping anymore. I feel like he lost that doctor's bedside manner. And in some way I was be questioned or told by my father that I shouldn't feel what I felt. And the same thing happen the next day for my follow up.. He asked me how was I feeling. And I said I'm still sleepy.. He mentioned what whatever I'm taking from his office should wore off by then. "So Whatever is causing the sleepiness DID NOT come from his office", he said.. And again I feel that he lost that manner. Now I'm just a number that come thru his office. But I couldn't been happier with the staffs.. if it wasn't for the staffs. I would've lower the stars. Because that bedside manner from a doctor is important to me. I've been coming to Providence Eye and Laser for several years (~5) now and each visit has been a pleasant one. The receptionist team is very attentive and professional. The wait is usually 5-10 minutes after the scheduled time before I'm seen, but much of the time is spent reviewing privacy and HIPA forms. They also recommend $40 eye photographs, however I've never taken them up on the procedure. I've had three different doctors over the years and each we're willing to answer my questions thoroughly and with care. I feel very confident in their expertise. read more

My experience with Providence and Dr. Mozayeni was fantastic. The journey that brought me to laser eye surgery has been a long one. I finally had enough with hard contact lenses, glasses, and waking up pretty much blind. It's been a month and all I can say is that the staff is friendly, caring and professional, the technology is top notch, and Dr Mozayeni is fantastic. These all contributed to awesome results! From horrible astigmatism and 20/50 vision to 20/15 and virtually no astigmatism in a flash! The experience of the operation it's self can be do scribed as like "watching a laser light show while getting abducted by aliens" but there was no pain whatsoever, and they clearly articulate to you what to expect before, during and after the procedure! Mozeyeni (Providence Eye) is a popular Charlotte LASIK opthamologist at the moment. I went there in 2011 based on a positive review from a good friend of mine. They tend to spend money on radio advertisements and heavily promote their online presence, but the only reason I chose them was because I heard good things from my friend. I have consulted with the LASIK department at Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates, and a couple other eye clinics. I did not have a chance to consult with Christenbury. Anyway the eye exam with Mozeyeni pretty much matched verbatim the results from the other competing doctors. I have pretty healthy eyes, aside from nearsightedness (myopia). I have slight astigmatism in one eye, but negligible (nearly nil) astigmatism in the other. So in short, I had a very good prognosis. In all honesty, Mozeyeni charged more than the other doctors, even after my slight insurance discount. I recommend everyone get multiple consultations at competing clinics so you and your family have the most information available. The consultations are free, but you may be charged for the full eye exam. Check with insurance. When you choose a doctor, the cost of the procedure is certainly important but that shouldn't be the main criteria. Choose a doc who will take care of you during the recovery/followup phase. The ONLY thing I did not like about Providence Eye was that, during 3 separate followup appointments, I saw different assistants typing things in my patient file on their computer system. They would start their paragraphs with sentences like: "Patient's vision is excellent. No complaints..." before even bothering to ask me how my eyes felt and if I was having trouble. Did I raise this concern with anyone there? No, because overall I am happy with the procedure and my vision. However since I've seen them do this 3 times, I strongly believe they are coached by Mozeyeni to write this and boost their patient "success rate", if you will. That's pretty shady documentation standards. And it's equivalent to falsifying records, or bad bookkeeping. You can be sure other doctor's offices may be doing this. The only way of knowing is asking to see your patient records, but otherwise you'd have no idea. Another good friend of mine used Christenbury but is now having problems. I don't know the details on her complications but she regrets the procedure. I still recommend Mozeyeni, but I strongly urge everyone to WATCH what these people are typing about you in your patient record. MAKE SURE you are being vocal about your eye condition and make sure this is properly documented. As the doctors should be telling you already, LASIK isn't going to give perfect vision for the rest of your life. When presbyopia kicks in around middle-aged people, you'll need reading glasses most likely. You only opt for LASIK if you have healthy eyes, with low astigmatism. If you are NOT a good candidate (with medium to high astigmatism), DO NOT choose LASIK or the other procedures. It is a risky procedure, and your eyes will be permanently affected. Only do it if you have "textbook eyes" that have a high probability of a healthy recovery with minimal maintenance required. I might be beating a dead horse here, but it's important to remember. He recommended me to use Systane Ultra lubricant eye drops daily for general moisturizing. I like these drops and keep separate bottles at the office, at home, and a backup in the car in case I need it on the go. I plan on using these for the rest of my life, maybe once or twice a day as needed. I drink plenty of water and eat healthy and my eyes are producing enough natural oil to lubricate my eyes but I still use the eye drops as additional protection. So how about my vision results? It's been nearly 12 months since my procedure and it took a few months for my eyes to stabilize but I now see 20/15. read more

Two years post-LASIK and I still see better than 20/15. My vision was worse than 20/800 before the procedure, so I was basically blind without correction. After the procedure I had almost no side effects--maybe just a little dryness. I've been going back for all routine eye care as well and I always get very personal attention. What an incredible experience. From the moment I scheduled my appointment to leaving my consultation yesterday I am truly pleased. I visited another provider prior to this and it was in/out 20 minutes after they told me I was not a candidate for any eye procedure and should be happy my vision issues weren't severe enough to warrant consideration. I am so grateful I kept my appointment at Providence Eye for a 2nd opinion. Their screening process was so thorough that he (Dr. Mozayeni) found an irregular blemish within my eye that needed to be checked further. Also; after reviewing several potential procedures and options for better eye health I have a much better understanding of the nuances that need to be considered for the best possible outcome. The entire visit was nothing less than exceptional. Megan guided me through each test and thoroughly explained in detail the equipment, reason for the test and what to experience every step of the way. Please do yourself a favor and book your consultation with Providence Eye & Laser Specialist. Due to some conditions in my eyes LASIK isn't best for me so we are exploring other options (PRK and specialized contacts) but more importantly we caught something that could become a concern later. Hmmm, let's see...it was a less than 10 mins procedure, it was a bit intense for me bc I'm extra sensitive when I have anything near my eyes it didn't hurt, but the xanax (anxiety) med they gave me before and after the procedure was OMG...it knocked me out cold, I'm such a weak sauce! I went home after the procedure and took a 4-5 hrs nap and felt all better afterward, start seeing everything clearly (as clear as when I had my contacts in) crystal clear. I woke up this morning to go to the checkup appointment (and I even drove myself ) and everything was great, I was 20/20 this morning and dr. Mozareni said it should get even better in the next few weeks...so, I'm super excited! wish I've gotten this done earlier...hehe!;) the staff and dr. Mozareni were amazing and quite knowledgeable. But I gotta say, They're a bit more expensive than other offices though. If you know me, i love a good bargain, but I guess when it comes to our eyes, I don't mind paying a bit extra for the peace of mind I paid about $4400 for both eyes if you want to compare with other offices, 98% of the patients came out with 20/20 or better vision (20/15 is even better than 20/20 FYI ) and 2% of the patients may need some 'enhancement' after the procedure. With Dr. Mozereni, if I were to need an enhancement within the 1 year period, its included in the charge. However, if the enhancement is after 1 year, then it'll be around $500 per eye!;) hope this help read more

I never write reviews but I am so angry and unhappy with this practice. I book an appointment with the cataract specialist at Providence Eye a month in advance due to my work schedule. They called me a week before my appointment to say the doctor was no longer available on that day. When I booked the appointment I asked him if the doctor would be there on that particular day,which was a holiday, and they assured me she would be. That was my first bad experience but I chalked it up to mistakes happen.... Second, I waited another three weeks to get an appointment, I get there only to find that they do not take my insurance even though I gave them the name of my insurance company and they had all my information for my insurance when I set up for the appointment. They told me there was nothing they could do that they did not take my insurance. I have now waited over two months wasting my time for an appointment at an office that cannot even help me. They seem to not care as if it was no big deal to them. Thank you for wasting of my time and making me loose time at work. read more

WOW! I am beyond pleased with the results of my laser eye surgery. I had it done about a month ago, in both eyes. I was nearsighted and now I can see everything. What amazed me was right after surgery I was able to see. I've been in contacts and glasses since I was 10 and its so nice not to have to worry about them anymore. My eyes were pretty try for the first week or two and now only get dry every 4 or 5 hours. The surgery was painless. There was a little pain after the numbing drops wore off but I slept most of the day after surgery and didn't notice it except when I woke up to get from the car to my bed. Dr. Mozayeni is an amazing doctor. He is very thorough, will answer all the questions you have, and even called the night after my surgery to see how I was doing. Everyone that I had in the office was so nice and helpful. I was very nervous about the surgery and they really put my mind at ease. Dr. Mozayeni uses top of the line technology and the office is very nice and inviting. Your eyes are extremely important and if you want the best doctor, look no further. I had LASIK at Providence Eye and Laser about one year ago here and have been consistently impressed! Both doctors and their staff are very friendly and happy to answer all your questions. The office uses all the latest technology for surgery, record-keeping and eye exams. Instead of puffing air into your eyes they use computer imaging, and instead of having your eye cut by a scapel, a computer guides the process with a laser. Final thoughts: I went from 20/200 vision to 20/15! While your results may vary, I doubt you could find a better place to get your surgery. read more

I just had my one year follow up after getting my eyes corrected. I could not be happier with the outcome. After one full year both eyes are stable and I can see better than ever before. The surgery was one of the hardest choices for me to make. My fear was unfounded but I'm sure common to most thinking of having corrective surgery. Is it safe, is it worth the risk, will I be happy with the outcome. All valid concerns and ones that they will help to answer for you. I can only speak for my experience and the outcome. It was safe, quick, and no worse than dealing with cutting an onion for a very brief period of time. I opted for the mono-vision correction. It's a choice really well suited for older patients that are at an age where reading glasses will start to be needed. So late 30's early 40's. The procedure corrects the dominate eye for distance and the other eye for reading. Your brains does the rest and it was seamless for me. No more glasses and a very good chance I will never need reading glasses. The procedure was about 10 seconds per eye and I walked out with perfect 20/20 vision. At my one year visit my vision had even improved to a little better than 20/20. The doctors at this practice gave me honest answers to my questions. I never felt I was being sold a service but more guided to the best choice for my goal to never wear glasses again. If you are looking for a doctor that will not offer you a buy one eye get one free deal this is the place. The cost is set and the value is well documented in the number of happy patients they have. Don't look for the best deal. Look for the best doctor that will give you an honest price for safe, virtually painless, corrective treatment. It's your eyes, you may have been born with poor eyesight, but trust is earned. I would do it again and recommend this practice to anyone thinking of getting corrective treatment. read more

I went here for my yearly eye exam to get my contact prescription renewed. The facility is clean and my appointment started on time. The staff was pleasant. THEY DONT DO THE PUFF AIR TEST!! My doctor was knowledgable and helpful. All went well until I checked out. I made sure they were on my insurance plan- which was also confirmed by the receptionist when making my appointment. Well when i check out they said I had to pay my contact exam myself and theyd give me a receipt to submit to my insurance which was $50. Im still waiting on that 3 months later-at no fault of this office. This alone makes me debate if ill go back next yr bc dealing w insurance companies is such a pain.
