I came into this store for a very simple request. I just wanted nose pads added to my glasses. One employee took them to the back, then a different employee came out and told me they had broken my glasses. Their "solution" was to offer me 50% off new frames. So instead of a quick adjustment, I left with broken glasses and the expectation that I should spend more money here to fix a problem they created. That is completely unacceptable. Glasses are not cheap, and I trusted them with mine for a basic service. There was no real apology, no attempt to make it right, and no accountability. Any reputable optical shop should be able to handle something as small as nose pads without destroying your frames. If you value your glasses, I would recommend going somewhere else. read more

Terrible communication. I called the office to let them know I would be late and get there at 8:12am because of a six car crash on highway 85. I was told by the person on the phone that it would be fine and not to worry at all. I ended up getting there at 8:11 am and was told by the receptionist that I was pasted their ten minute grace period and there was nothing she would do to help. read more

I made an appointment for an annual visit and was subject to a lengthy wait before being seen. I got a new contact prescription and wanted to try them out before committing to purchasing an annual supply. Now, I've been trying to contact the office regarding buying some. I've called multiple times, spoken to those at the front desk, and even left messages. The most I've gotten is, "We'll verify and call you back." While the office facilities are nice, they're pretty unorganized. To top it off, they sent me home with the wrong prescription, so I can't use a service like 1800 Contacts. The name on the prescription is different and for someone named "Melissa." Not only is the prescription for glasses, but it also has her address on it. In the future, I'll find an eye doctor with better customer service. Edit as of August 12: I've tried getting in contact with the office, as well as email Jessica (who responded to my review below). I have an email chain with Jessica dating back to July 29 with no response. Please do not go here if you value your time! My prescription was incomplete; they gave me only the near page. Since it's my first ever Rx for glasses I didn't realize it wasn't all there, and used the partial prescription to have glasses made at a local business. The glasses are not for distance and reading because the Rx was incomplete so they are a waste. ECC will not replace the lenses because I didn't buy from them. They refuse to even issue a partial credit or admit their negligence in the process. If I were an eye doc or an experienced buyer of glasses I might know. I would give them a zero if I could. Eyecare Center started out being the perfect company. Now I can't say the same. The University office in Charlotte closed. I had an appointment scheduled for November. I never got a reminder about the appointment I had to call the office regarding the appointment only to find out ir was cancelled by the practice. To make matter worse I was told the office was closing, so I would have to reschedule with one of the other office that were almost an hour away. I asked why wasn't i notified, just to get an I don't know answer. When I asked about the office Dr Washington would be at. I was told I would have to see another dr due to she was no longer with the company. I asked for my record to be sent to the doctor and email to myself on 12/17/24. Today 12/31/24, I spoke with Jennifer at the SBlvd locatio regarding my record. Per Jennifer, the reason why I haven't gotten was due to an IT issue with the office that closed. My appointment is next week 1/7/25. I asked Jennifer how could I get my records, she stated I don't know. I asked to speak to a manager and was immediately told no one was available to assistance me. I need my records so the new practice could see the plan of care Dr Washington had in place due to my medical condition. This action has cause a delay in my eyecare. read more

I have been a customer of the Eye Care Center close to home, but in the last 4 years they have struggled to get my lenses done correctly. I visited the Eye Care Center on South Blvd and was pleased with their service and accuracy. This year however, I made 4-5 trips (15 miles from my house) for my glasses and lenses...from March 25 to June 6, 2023 and they are still not done correctly. I've contacted Jessica 3 times and she has repeatedly told me management would be in touch. A month later, not a peep...and my lenses are still not correct. It's unfortunate that they will not take ownership for their inferior work. read more

I've been to both high and low end optometrists and Eye Care Center is definitely on the high end. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and Dr. Schorner was awesome. Very friendly and knowledge. The technician Cameron was great too. I highly recommend them if you're looking for an eye doctor or a place to get glasses or contacts. read more

The in-person staff deserve 5 stars as I've had great experiences with them whenever I need to go in. Deducted 2 stars for my experience with the delivery of my contacts. I placed an order for them to be shipped on 01/09, was told they'd take 2 business days, waited 7 days without receiving them, called to inquire and was then told they hadn't been shipped yet for whatever reason. They just re-shipped them the other day and should be arriving tmrw. Was given no compensation and no communication on this delay, and I've run out of contacts. I can't say enough good things about this eyecarecenter. I arrived early, several minutes before their public opening time, and was still welcomed inside by very friendly staff. It was immediately clear to me that the staff takes pride in their work -- the entire store was spotless, and the 4 or 5 staff that I interacted with all treated me extremely well, showing genuine interest in making sure that my visit was a pleasure. The eye exam itself was a breeze, taking somewhere in the ballpark of 45-50 minutes. I was talked through each stage of the exam as well, which was a nice touch. Overall, I highly recommend this location -- you will not be disappointed if you make your next eye appointment at this eyecarecenter location. read more

Very unfriendly. Only thing in their mine is to get maximum profit from you and your insurance co. If I try do contact exam without order contact lenses, I have to pay $79 with VSP insurance. I left paid $10 co-pay without anything. No any prescription. They only will give you a smiling face if you order their contact lenses which is 3x or 4x more than any online order. I should give 0 rating, but it is my own fault to go there to ask for robbery. read more

For the past two years I've told them not to lock up my materials insurance benefit because I buy my glasses from another place, yet both times they have locked up my benefit. This causes me so much inconvenience because I drive across town to the place I buy glasses from but they can't use my insurance until eyecarecenter releases it...problem is I can't get them to release it while I'm at the glasses store because eyecarecenter is already closed. Therefore, I have to make a second trip across town to buy my glasses after finally getting them to release my benefit, which they shouldn't have had in the first place because I clearly tell them not to lock it. These incompetent people need to learn how to listen. Also for the past two years, they go ahead schedule another appointment next year for me without even consulting me so I have to call them to cancel it. I don't know why they do this charade...I'll call again next year to make the appointment myself, but actually never mind I'll just be going somewhere else next year anyways. read more

5 Stars!! I picked up my last pair yesterday, so within 4 visits in 5 months, each visit has been personable and pleasant. 1. They went WAY out of their way to order these frames. Although they were specially ordered for me, they made absolutely sure I wanted them before making me buy them. 2. They fitted my glasses to the T. Not loose, not tight, but perfect. Never have I gotten such "custom" fit glasses 3. Nifty carrying bag made from recycled paper with conservation tips and such. An extra cloth wipe with special cleaning spray. 4. And finally, in all my years of wearing glasses, I've never received 1, 2 or 3 from any previous optometrists. read more

This is where I go to get my contacts. The people seem pretty friendly and when I left, I was able to see....which is good. The disappointment comes when you get your bill. But going to any doctor is not healthy for your wallet. I would recommend this place for getting an eye exam and some contacts/glasses. read more

My dog ate my glasses and I work with computers so they are key. Don't really wear them outside of work. Without going into detail-I can say they went above and beyond replacing my glasses at a reasonable price. I think part of it was I am a long standing customer and most of it was great customer service. Basically-they rock. You should go here if looking for an eye dr! read more

Someone recommended Eye Care Center to me on Twitter, and it's very convenient to my husband's office, so I made an appointment. My insurance is confusing, but right when I got to my appointment, the receptionist got on the phone with the insurance company and made sure everything was straightened out. The staff was very nice to me, and made me feel comfortable even on my first visit. Dr. Bailey explained everything so clearly to me and I felt like she really listened. Then, she went above and beyond to make sure I knew about rebates for my contact brand, and how to save money with my prescription drops as well. The doctors are great in this office. The front desk, not so much. FOUR TIMES, after calling ahead to ensure that they would still be there for a pick up since their Saturdays are by appointment only and their Monday hours are scratched off the door and aren't accurate online, I arrived to a locked door. Not once, twice, but FOUR times this has happened. Traffic is a nightmare in this location, I work and live far away, so that's about 6 round trip precious hours for those four trips they wasted. read more

I had originally used a couple of other places for my eye care. After he retired, I was looking for another place to get eye exams and glasses. On a recommendation, I went to MyEyeDr and I'm glad I did. The doctor was thorough, listened to me and educated me on my situation. Needing progressive lenses and working on a computer all day, it was recommended I get 2 pair, my regular progressives, and a single vision lens for computer work. That was a good decision. They were made quickly and accurately, the staff made sure to have them adjusted to fit properly, and made sure I had cleaning cloths and solution and told me to bring the bottle of solution in, and they would fill it for me. Just make sure, when you get your glasses adjusted, you don't rush. It takes time to get the fit right and it's better to take the time to do it correctly the first time, rather than make repeat visits. read more

This is the best Eye Care I have ever received! The doctor found that my prescription was wrong. I now see better than ever!! I was told that I would never be able to wear contacts or see very well out of my right eye. I now see great at 20/20, colors are brighter and I have more confidence with my new contacts! I usually float around eye doctors, never remembering the names of anyone or even what the doctor's name was. My experience with this office was completely different. The staff is friendly and personable, and I felt like they actually cared about me. They helped me pick out glasses, and were very knowledgeable in the types of glasses that fit my face shape. I got fabulous one that I still get compliments on(which has never happened to me ever before) Dr. Baldinger himself is very funny and nice, and he answered all of my questions to my satisfaction, even the ones that I'm sure were a little dumb. The staff gets along great as well, and they laugh and include patients in their jokes, yet they still maintain professionalism and do their best to get customers what they wanted. It took me 8 weeks from start to finish to get my new glasses. I returned them after 24 hours to get anti-glare added and I was told the lab made a mistake and they would have to be remade.
