With many positive reviews and recommendations from friends, this place has been on my list. Today I brought my kids and elderly father for a lunch gathering. The restaurant is tucked away inside a farmer's market, so you really have to know about Dimitris since it would be to stumble upon. As soon as you walk inside, it's quaint and whimsical! The decor sports a farmhouse theme, right down to the country-style booth seating. With a name like Dimitri, you expect Greek fare, and there were definitely some Greek choices on the menu - spanakopita and baklava. The food was delicious, the prices fair and the servings decent. Always on the lookout for new breakfast spots, I read the great reviews for Dimitri's here on Yelp and decided to break the fast here. You might want to put on the GPS when coming here for the first time because you might think that you're in the wrong place. But trust your GPS and let it take you right to the entrance. There is plenty of parking no matter if you have a Fiat or a semi truck. The structure is 100 years old, and the world around it has changed over the decades. It's fun to see a little piece of Pompano history. Inside, the restaurant is very charming in that well loved and worn kind of way. It was decorated cutely for Christmas. We were warmly greeted and provided with our choice of where we wanted to sit. The menu is full of lots of breakfast items, but be sure to check the specials board as there were lots of items on there that were not on the regular menu. The food came out quickly and was warm. I especially like the potatoes. I wish that the grits were smoother. Our server was absolutely delightful and kept our coffees full. Dimitri's is a nice spot and I'll visit again. read more

Good, basic breakfast on par with Dennys. Streamlined menu which is nice. Quaint small "truck stop" feel. Seems like lots of older regulars, but we felt welcomed. Clean, cute, homey Southern decor. They moved buildings, so it's next door now at the newer spot. The food is basic, service is quick, efficient. Wait staff is mature, kind, easy to order from. Would go again! Enjoy. Dimitris has been on my list for years and I finally visited for breakfast with a friend. It is located in the Myrick Farmers Market just north of Atlantic on Andrew's Ave. Dimitris has been family owned since 2003. From the outside it looks like an old cabin. When I arrived I was told I could sit anywhere. As I waited for my friend I could tell a lot of the patrons were regulars as the hostess was calling them by name. I ordered the breakfast sandwich on Texas toast. I expect Texas toast to have butter and or garlic, this had neither, the bread was a little thicker than normal bread. The sandwich was good but not memorable. My friend had the chocolate chip pancakes and she enjoyed them and liked the way the chips were melting. Our coffees were refilled. Our 2 meals with coffee came to $28.00. Their menu includes breakfast staples as well as sandwiches and daily specials. Service was pleasant. Atmosphere was rustic. We sat for over an hour catching up and we did not feel rushed at all. Overall I am very glad I went to Dimitris but nothing wowed me such that I would return. read more

On a rainy Thursday late morning, I stopped by Demitris Farmers Market expecting to find fruits and vegetables for sale! After the owner's daughter explained to me the history of the area and told me about the family's involvement with the restaurant, I decided to stay. I'm very happy I did! Since it was close to lunch and I hadn't eaten breakfast, I decided to get the Belgian waffle with berries. The waffle was perfectly done, lately crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I didn't even need to add the butter because they tasted that good! I drink my coffee black and enjoyed the aroma and flavor. Overall, the restaurant reminded me of a country diner up in the Catskills upstate New York. People at the other tables were friendly and started conversations. I can't count how many times my server or someone else that worked there stopped by to check on my meal and refill my coffee and water. As I was leaving, the owner's daughter greeted me at the cashier's desk and had a nice conversation with me before I left inviting me back. I look forward to it! read more

During one on the rare weekday mornings I had off from school I decided to come here for breakfast. The Farmer's Market restaurant is in a building from the the 1930's in the Edward L. Myrick State Farmers Market. The market's 1.008 foot platforms were the the largest in the world when they were built in 1939. During the growing season local farmers brought their harvest here to sell to brokers who resold it to retail outlets in the eastern part of the U.S. Today the Farmers Market is one of the few remaining reminders of Pompano Beach's agricultural past. The market continues to be an important multi-million dollar economic force in the community. The markets proximity to ports in Miami and Fort Lauderdale reduces transportation costs and carbon footprints, and increases shelf life of the produce. The Farmer's Market Restaurant has been owned by Dimitris and his wife Popi since 2003. It is located in a charming white shingled building across from the platforms. The homestyle menu includes pancakes, French toast, and eggs for breakfast and sandwiches, soups, and salads for lunch. They also serve Greek dishes like Greek salad, pita platters, and sandwiches. I love the vintage look of the restaurant and the quaint farm signs hanging on the wall. Seats are at tables or in wooden booths. I started off with a cup of their delicious coffee. For my brunch I ordered the French toast with fresh berries with home fries and bacon. The food was fantastic and the service was friendly and attentive. Portions are large and prices were fair. Large menu, tasty food, nice waitresses. This little place is a great find. It is located inside the Farmer's Market off of Hammondville Road. You may think you have made a driving error, but it is there! Party of three had western omelette, loaded oatmeal, and chef salad with chicken salad on top. All was very good except the chicken salad was kind of tasteless. Maybe it needed salt. All in all, worth trying and we will definitely be returning. read more

Of course we went for breakfast And we were hungry, so I started eating and forgot to take pictures the fresh berries were terrific with a sprinkle of cinnamon ... till I finished my second piece of French toast, so a half full plate just wasn't a great photo op I looked at everyone's plates it was the same - our daughter Katrina & her hubby inhaled their food as well ! Ready to take a trip back in time? Then head to Pompano Beach, FL to Dimitri's Farmers Market Restaurant. Didn't know what to expect, as we pass the location every week. All we could see from Andrews Avenue were lines of tractor trailers backed up for pickups or deliveries. Then we saw all the State signage and road markers, which also confused us. There was also the State Farmers Market in green. So we went to our trusted source, YELP for help. YELP confirmed the restaurant's location, and that was all we needed. Outside, Dimitri's Farmers Market Restaurant begins to take you back in time. Back to when people built homes and businesses with wood. The outside prefaces the inside, which is reminiscent of old-fashioned, no frills dining establishments of a bygone era. Seats resembling church benches populate one side of the place, while simple tables and chairs populate the other side. You won't find that plastic white menu with carefully-placed, red letters and numbers. But you will find menus written on white board, and even a counter with a display of items for purchase behind glass. There is also a wicker basket with cookies and gigantic brownies. And we do mean gigantic!!! We received a pleasant greeting up entry, and ordered at the counter. It wasn't long before our order was ready. Just as in the old days, the cook didn't monkey around in the kitchen. Hungry people aren't always patient people. But back then, one could actually "sit a spell" and wait. Breakfast and BLT were our choices that day. One thing the restaurant does that many restaurants don't do is place the grits in the same container as the other breakfast items. Many put the grits inside tiny cups designed for side orders. So you end up with less than you would want. Just dollop the grits in the container. That way we get our money's worth. Speaking of money, no sticker shock. Same as in the good ol' days when food was more affordable, the food here is affordable too. We had a good lunch here today at this diner style restaurant . My husband had been here some 15 years ago with a business associate and although it's not far away, it's taken me this long to finally try their food. They've been here about 17 years -- and survived the worst of Covid by doing a lot of takeout. But they are open to dine inside -- and it's a bit bigger than you would guess looking at the little building in the middle of all the trucks and the produce market. It was easy access from the Andrews Avenue Extension. There is marked parking for cars right outside the building. Service is friendly and efficient. Not everything is available on their printed menus. It's best to look at both boards to see what they have and to see their daily specials. We both had sandwiches. He chose a Turkey sandwich on toasted rye with tomato and onion. I chose a Philly cheese steak -- leaving off the onions. It came with mixed peppers which was perfect. Both sandwiches were good. Also on the plate was a small dish of coleslaw and a pickle. Neither of these was my favorite (I prefer half sours), but he liked them. The well done steak fries were wonderful. We saw the breakfast board and that looked very appealing. Next time we come, we hope to try their breakfast specials including their biscuits and sausage gravy. read more

I'VE FOUND THE TEASURE!!!! Dimitri's Farmer's Market Restaurant...remember this name. A hidden treasure in Pompano Beach that I'm willing to share the wealth. Located on the corner of Atlantic and Andrews next to the State Farmer's Market. The Restaurant has been here since 1938 and most recent owners for the past 18 years. Breakfast and lunches are served from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. open 7 days a week. I can't rave enough about this family style Restaurant. The portions are huge, the pricing is more than fair and I'm sure you will end up with a to go box for later nibbles! I enjoyed the breakfast special that was scrambled eggs with onions, tomatoes, peppers, cheese and home fries mixed together and topped off with country gravy. Amazing and a huge portion. My partner had the delicious Greek omelet with spinach, tomatoes and feta cheese served with their homemade home fries that have onions and peppers mixed in. I've attached photos to tempt your taste bud's for a truly home style experience! Oh and just make it even more special ALL produce is fresh as it comes from next door ( and I've been told that you actually can purchase fresh produce next door ... being able to cut out the middle man and just get it as fresh as you can!!). The husband and wife team are always there in the kitchen or in the front. They are fresh-obsessed with the products that they use. The wait staff is friendly and grateful. You can tell it's a farmers market restaurant from the quality of the food - everything tasted fresh and cooked well. I got the fancy breakfast sandwhich and it was LOADED with food (all the dishes were huge - came with a large group of 9). We were seated immediately and the service was fantastic - def a low key, mom and pop kinda place which is great for kids/family dining. No frills, kind staff, and quality food. This Philly girl is raised on feta omelettes and pleasantly surprised with this South Florida gem. The feta firm, salty and deliciously wrapped in the egg omelette (I like it runny, I know risky but I live on the edge, I'm from Philly) with home fries garnished with onions and peppers and my side of sausage gravy. I am sparing you the bathed look of the gravy but I will say it was sooo good and will not share, hence my own side. My husband loved the eggs, biscuits and gravy. This was a great find. It is out of the way, tucked into an industrial side road...it is clean, the breakfast is wonderful and the service is excellent. There is a mix of booths and tables, the seating is a bit hard, even that which is 'padded, but it is what it is. That is a truck stop with first class food. I had eggs, sausages and potato, and my wife had grits and bacon and eggs. We both had OJ and coffee. For a nice breakfast in what is a wonderful atmosphere, there is no better. What a fantastic hidden gem!! This place is located in a truck produce distribution center. It's where the truckers eat, so you got to know it good value. My meat lovers omelette was of made of 4 eggs, fresh tomatoes ... included fresh home fries. I had them dial back the eggs to 2, and that was huge. Place was extremely clean.
