The perfect soup when you're feeling under the weather! I stopped by Peter Pan Diner and ordered the Lemon Chicken Greek Soup, and WOW, exactly what I needed while being sick! This is a typical Greek owned diner. I love their breakfasts, I love their homemade pumpernickel bread and their lemon orzo Greek soup. They have a lot of regulars and the staff is very nice and friendly. They just redid a lot of the diner which makes it look a little updated. Sometimes it's hit or miss but I always stick to my favorites ! read more

Good old Peter Pan. I have a long history with this place but hadn't been in years. It is the same inside, could use a little sprucing up but we had a large group for breakfast and it was very good. Peter Pan diner is a good diner to know about. Went at night for the lunch special of STUFFED GREEN PEPPERS we heard about earlier in the day. I called first and spoke with a very gracious gentleman who answered my questions about closing time and dinner specials. Closing time on a weeknight was 10:45 pm and stuffed peppers were among the evening specials. Upon arrival ordered TakeOut in person. A very efficient lady assisted me with the order. I found out each order comes with a potato choice, vegetable of the day, the main, soup or salad and bread service. She explained all items are packaged separately- to not touch- on a TakeOut order. That works for me. I declined the bread. The "home fries" potato choice had some "char" to it and seemed more like hash browned potatoes to me. Almost positive I requested home fries so I assume that is how Peter Pan prepares home fries. All very good and each order is enough to feed more than one person. Extremely affordable and everyone was polite and efficient. I think the man I spoke to on the phone is the Host because as all places should do he was positioned at the front door when I entered. I paid another lady who was the Cashier handling payments/checks. I think more people in Broward should know about this somewhat quirky diner by the railroad tracks at the Southeast corner of EAST Oakland Park Boulevard and Dixie Highway with the catchy nursery rhyme name. I tasted the Greek diner influence and even chose Chicken LEMON soup. I think you, too, could be pleasantly surprised. read more

Peter Pan Diner is a staple of Oakland Park. Anyone who lives in Broward knows about Peter Pan Dinner and probably has some kind of memory there. Some 10+ years ago, I once broke up with an ex via phone in the Peter Pan parking lot, and then went inside to have the best brunch with two girl friends. I didn't catch our server's name this time, but she was very pleasant, friendly, and service was good for how packed the place was. We came in from running a 5K around the same time as the Sunday church rush, so it was pretty busy and our server got a large church party of senior citizens shortly after we were sat. When she initially dropped off our drinks, she forgot my coffee and disappeared for a while to tend to other tables, but the next time I saw her, she had already realized her mistake and was actively bringing my coffee. A sign of a service professional! Forgetting things happens, but it's best when you can realize it before your patron tells you so. It was a small thing, but makes a big difference for me. This place hasn't changed a bit since the early 90s. Anyone who was single in South Florida during the 90s definitely was here at two or three in the morning after a good night out! I was in Fort Lauderdale for the weekend and over the last few weeks, this place has come up in conversation so on the way home I had to stop for breakfast. Peter Pan is on Oakland Park Boulevard and there's a big parking lot in the back. For years it was a 24 hour diner now it's open only until 11. When I walked in, I couldn't believe it. It looked exactly like it did way back when. Breakfast is still really good. I had an order of pancakes with bacon. Pancakes were light and fluffy and the bacon was crisp. Super reasonable too. No one in the area has prices like this. If you're looking for omelettes, most omelettes were under $13 and it's a four egg omelette. Not the fanciest place. It's your typical old school diner with pretty decent food and lots of memories. read more

I stopped by Peter Pan Diner for lunch. There were a few people dining inside as I was quickly seated after greeting the hostess. A pleasant male server, I didn't get his name, approached the table and took my drink order. Then a couple of minutes later, I placed an order for a bowl of split pea soup and chicken pot pie. The first to arrive was the split pea soup, which was nice and hot with a smooth texture. Though I prefer my soups to be filled with chunky pieces of meat and veggies, it was still tasty. Next came the chicken pot pie. Once I broke through that flaky crust, I allowed the steam to escape before carefully taking bites of the filling which consisted of peas & carrots, thin slices of potatoes, and pieces of tender chicken in a creamy sauce. It was hearty and very delicious. Sadly the pot pie couldn't be finished because I was partly full from the soup. Apparently my server took notice of that as well as he brought a carry out container for me to transfer the leftovers in. I would definitely come back to Peter Pan Diner for that pot pie again. I've driven by here hundreds of times and never stopped to eat here. I came with a friend who eats here regularly. They have a large menu with everything you could want, breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also have daily specials. Like many diners, they have a section of Greek food. I asked the waitress how the moussaka was and she said she's never tried it, however people order it a lot. She did say that several of the cooks are Greek. So, I ordered the moussaka. It was very good, and a generous portion. It came with a Greek salad. The only thing that surprised me was that it was served with a bowl of warm tomato sauce?? My friend and I shared a piece of their cheesecake, which was delicious. The service was great. In all the years I have lived in FL, I have never been to Peter Pan. I am sorry that I missed out! It's a typical diner. I had a turkey melt without the cheese & extra sauerkraut. Came again to Peter Pan this morning 8am on a Saturday to ask if they can seat 8 to 15 of us for a birthday brunch for a friend in the group. "No problem, we'll setup a table in the back and whoever shows up can sit." Everyone felt welcomed the moment they arrived, we were 12 total. The food was fantastic, the French toast, pancakes, sunny side up eggs cooked to perfection and the sausages were terrific. The coffee was also memorable, I drink it black so it matters to me. Very neighborhood-y diner with fun friendly staffers and solid diner classics. 5 star staff and ambience: I go with a group of friends here very often, usually Monday nights. Every staffer is sweet and welcoming. It really feels like you're eating with some relative (one that you like, not one of the strange ones LOL). 5 star food: they do very solid diner classics mostly. The menu has just about one of everything and there are also daily specials. My personal favorite is always the triple salad platter. A funny side note: our cat goes completely crazy for even a tiny piece of tuna salad from Peter Pan. I asked to hold my pancakes and all he did was wait like two minutes after bringing the food and brought the pancakes right out I asked for warm syrup Which I understand they cannot do so I asked for hot water and I heat up the syrup myself none of that was done. In fact, I had to ask for syrup a while after the pancakes have been given the purpose of me holding the pancakes, so they remain hot when I'm ready to consume them so I end up taking them home have the portion of eggs were given when you order scramble turkey sausage was great And the corned beef hash looked awesome. I heard no complaints from over there. I haven't been there in a while since before Covid in fact when they were 24 hours they utilize the lounge I know they get business. It's just terrifying to see the restaurant world is not what it wants was pre-Covid. I chunk it up to the lack of quality servers Because the food quality is still green.
