They have one flavor option per day (check their website to see their schedule for the week) & vegan options. I like to get my pizza extra crispy & they've always come through. I'm very stingy with 5 star reviews. I saw the 5 star rating on this place and naturally was skeptical. When I stopped in and found out they only do one type of pizza a day (you can ask for just cheese as well) I thought...well I hope I came on a good day. I had : Roma Tomatoes, Fresh Corn, Red Onions, Mozzarella, Pecorino Cheese, Fresh Basil , Garlic Olive Oil. The wifey said "I never thought Corn would be so good on Pizza" . I said : "Maybe it's because I don't eat Pizza too much these days...but this was damn good". The service was great and the layout is modern, spacious AND they have a couple flat screen TV's on sporting events which is cool. Writing this after my first experience. I ordered delivery online. Now, I'm no fan of delivered food - I deliver pizza myself ;) - but I had no car and I was starving. Online I ordered a whole pie and under the instructions I requested "Cheese only on 1/2 side.." I had no idea what this "Whole pie" would look like besides half of the pizza being covered in cheesy goodness, but boy was I surprised. Delivery guy came pretty quick which I expected since the shop was close by. What I did not expect were the two boxes cradled in the delivery guy's arms. I took them in and surely upon opening I discovered not one whole pie, but an additional half-pie! Pics below. I'm not sure if these guys have their own take on the classic "Cheese pizza" but the thought of my botched order was completely erased from my mind as soon as I took a bite. The crust was thin and crisp, but satisfyingly chewy. The cups of sauce that came with the pizzas made eating the end-crusts enjoyable. The combination of vegetables on both pizzas were perfect. Giving these guys 5/6 stars for screwing up my order, but take this W, vegetarians. read more

They offer a daily pizza and a daily salad or have both with a water for under seven buckaroos. Our pizza came out fresh and hot and was mighty tasty too. The salad is large enough to split. There are two large TVs on one side for those who need a little entertainment with their slice or sit on the other side and ignore them. If you want to take a pizza home they have some deals for you; buy a partial bake and finish it in your oven or you can buy three and get the fourth for half price. This neighborhood just keeps getting better and better. I spent 7 years traipsing around here when my kids went to the Montessori school next to Dimond Park, and naturally, as soon as they left, the food selections started to get pretty great. (This is our history - we lived in SF on a tacky little part of Columbus Ave and after we moved, right below us XOX Truffles opened up. Aargh!) I digress. Stopped in after a little wine tasting to grab a slice. Love, love, love that any slice they make will be vegetarian. They only offer one slice a day. Frankly, that makes me so very happy since I know I can always eat a vegetarian slice. I'm lately overwhelmed by ridiculous choices (have you seen the toothpaste aisle?) so thank you Dimond Slice for just making that decision for me. Although - I do think they also offer plain cheese pizza every day LOL. On offer yesterday was pizza with Cremini mushrooms, yellow onions, mozzarella & goat cheese, fresh herbs, garlic olive oil (PS-check their IG for the daily offering - that's how I pulled their exact ingredient list). Sooo delicious. And our slices came with a baby slice laid on top. Not sure if that's always the case, but it was awesome. Super friendly service, and salads are also available. The only thing I didn't like was the tv (I know-that's a "thing" and many people like it-I'm not one of them). I also would love to see the interior evolve out of the booths and floor of the former McDonald's location. Booths are comfy, but hecka ugly... Very good pizza. Let's admit that pizza is hard to rate - you may like thick or thin crust better, like a certain bite to the crust, enjoy your cheese blended or fresh or plain, like well-cooked veggies or fresh greens on top (this is a veggie place, so we're not including meat ratings here, obviously). So you order a half-and-half pizza, and it comes out in a minute or two, all cut up, partially stacked, and you're ready to eat. You aren't special - your pizza is a generic mix, but the crust is thin and good, and there is plenty of cheese, and there is arugula for the adults (3 adults, 2 young children). You ignore the 5-year-old who says he does not like cheese on his pizza, you have a drink of cold water that you pour yourself. You have sriracha sauce, if you want it, and brown napkins from a cleverly-designed dispenser where it is impossible to take more than a few. This is a huge place, and there's a chalk board, and toddlers can try out words, or larger folk try out graffiti or philosophy. The two small folks tried about 8 chairs or booths, and wound up watching cartoons in the narrow area aside the ovens (yes, A. tore off the cheese and ate the crust). So you don't rate a pizza place simply on the pizza, but on how they meet your expectations. There are three pizza places in half a block here, so vegetarian is a draw against national chains and the other local meat purveyors, and you can be something of a rebel in this large space. No points off, but a place like this could reduce even their limited one-use stuff (cups and napkins and paper plates) without much extra effort. read more

A friend took me here and I was surprised that this was basically a vegetarian pizza joint. They have 1 special pizza that they sell daily and that is basically what they sell. You can get other "plain" pizzas, but definitely try the special of the day. We ordered about 3 pies and asked for a ton of that green sauce. (IT. IS. BOMBBBBB.) The cashier who helped us was super friendly and literally gave us a big container of the sauce (MVP!!!) Overall, I am pretty pleased with this place and it reminds me of Sliver or Cheeseboard! read more

Ok Dimond Pizza you've caught my attention! To be honest with all ya'll on Yelp reading this I haven't gotten to fully experience this new pizza spot that just opened it's doors in my beloved Dimond District. But as luck would have it, we had just tried the new Cafe Umami a few doors down (check my other review!) and we were pretty stuffed after our late brunch. So while walking back to our car we peeked in and realized the new pizza place was open. Of course I had to walk in and peek at the menu for future reference. A quick glance and you could already tell this place is comparable to Cheese Board and Arizmendi with it's vegetarian pizza special of the day. All they're missing so far is a website to help preview whatever that pizza is before you drop by but for now they've got the weeks menu posted on the door. I wasn't planning on trying it right then and there but a friendly worker spotted us scoping out the new menu and offered us a free sample slice as we turned around to leave. Of course my instincts kicked in and I said YES! Who turns down free pizza? but seriously, it was good. :) definitely the best pizza in the neighborhood and a great spot for families. Huge layout, with lots of tables and space for families to file in and enjoy their meal a big plus since cheeseboard and arizmendi don't have the seating capacity to fill in large groups of people. They sell light baked pizzas as well that you can take home and finish off in your oven. My only wish is that the pizza slices came out a little hotter like they do at the other 2 mentioned pizza places but that's just because the other spots have a lot more people coming in at one time. I know this place will get to that level soon. Extra Hot slices for everyone! But I'll be back. Probably in the next few days for a full pizza and definitely in the future to show other friends the growing foodie gems in the Dimond District. Welcome to the neighborhood Diamond Slice. So glad to see this great business go into the old McDonald's location. We were greeted warmly and offered huge tastes of the pizza of the day. I ordered a whole one to bring home and had them leave off the cheese. It was delicious. They also have drinks and salads. All of the folks behind the counter were friendly and seems genuinely glad we stopped in. There is a lot of seating although the atmosphere still has some of the uncharm of the former tenants. Update: this is my second time coming here and I am so impressed. The pizza today is cherry tomatoes with mozzarella, garlic, parmesan and pine nuts. I'm allergic to nuts. They were so accommodating. They made sure to avoid putting nuts on my pizza. And they boxed it at a separate counter. I tried to take a photo of the whole pizza without bites but I couldn't resist. Their service AND pizza is so much better than Arizmendi. I love this place!! This is the best pizza that I've ever had. The service was great as well. Yummiest vegan pizza! We ordered two vegan pizzas recently to go. I forgot the exact toppings but one had potatoes. Both had Butchers' Son cheese. Wow! There were only me and Mr Rinky who were vegans. The others were omnivores. EVERYONE loved the pizzas--they were both eaten in short order. The pizzas are made to order. They have the pizza of the day but you can also choose from another pizza of the day. If they have the ingredients they can make it for you. It takes about 15 minutes to make your order. We had the pizzas double cut since there were going to be about 15 at the party. There was other food at the park so the pizzas were a delicious supplement. Great staff too! Plus they have a huge community blackboard none of their walls with lots of colored chalk! Fun! read more

Oh heck yes. I'm def into the veg row that's growing in Fruitvale. Dimond Slice pizza is delish...I love that they have Gluten Free crusts. They have either cheese pizza or a creative pizza of the day. I really like the Butchers Son cheese (it's local!). My meat-eating dad thoroughly enjoyed. Still searching for that unicorn - vegan pizza. PROS: - Kudos that they have a vegan option. - While I had mine to go there where plenty of tables and space for dining in and in fact, no one was in the restaurant around 4:30 on a Weds night. I was trying to beat the commuter rush on 580. - It was done and ready for pick-up in the amount of time they quoted to me, 15-20 minutes. They were willing to have it ready at a specific time as an option. - Loved the green special sauce, added a nice kick to the crust. Still not sure what the ingredients are. - Decent crust and plenty of corn on the daily special. CONS: - Not very many red/green peppers and the ones there were extremely thin and small. Hardly able to taste. Not much else besides cheese and corn. - Wish they had explained they had two "cheese" options. Butcher son or Daiya - I wish the cheese we a little more "melted" like the advertising pictures. - Pretty pricey for a single pizza (8 slices in about 14" pie), $29 with tip. Vegan option is more expensive than the regular pizza. I like that the Bare Knuckle charges the same price for regular or vegan option. Might be willing to give it another try and maybe do a "cheese" only to test the real quality. Really would like a place that offers the option of vegan to succeed. read more
