first time to pizzeria Violetta during Christmas week. Their pizza is an underdog in the pizza world in the bay area. Their service was great, and so was their location in West Oakland. The ambience had a cozy setting in the food hall that it was in

Pizzeria Violetta opened 4ish months ago in Prescott Market Hall. It's located in one of 2 rooms at the end of the hall, not on the main floor. Main decor is on the wall leading to the entrance, not inside. Menu posted on outside wall. Not inside near the food counter. A few tables inside room for dining. Also in main hall, or outside. Offerings: salads & sandwiches, desserts, sides, bites. Pizza (whole pie, spices), beverages, beers, $12 slice combo. Nowhere stated that only slices in the display case are available for special. Ordered once cashier explained how special works. No explanation posted near counter. Got food in 10ish minutes after paying/ordering. Bites/slurps: $12 slice combo (2 slice pizza. 1 soda) -Alameda diet soda uses cane sugar for regular drink. This tastes as good as the majors Slices: tomato basil pesto -puffy crust not thin crust. Toppings of red onions, pesto, basil, melty mozzarella readily tastable in the freshly warmed pizza slice. Mediterranean -best of da 2. Deliz nuanced taste of roasted peppers, pickled onions, olives, argula, feta cheese, housemade tomato sauce. Lotsa flavas from veggies.

This place has great pizza. Again, I'm going back to how I started. The good - the flavors are top notch and they have gluten free offerings. They have a special every 2-4 weeks and they are fine. But their other offerings are solid. They also have very good salads and I have taken them home and have had left overs. I feel like greens and proteins are well represented. The people working there are nice and professional. They are also very helpful. This spot is clean. When there, I've sat at different places. The tables and floors are clean. They have a lot of business - to go and indoors eating. For some it seems to be a spot to hang out. The bad - they can run out of salads and then don't replenish them. The ugly - the wait at times is intense. I had a hard time ordering online and went in to order. I wanted to grab a pizza and go, but no. I couldn't do that. I had to wait. This also impacts my orders. Sometimes I want to order a pizza but 57-62 minutes is a long wait when I'm 10 minutes away. This is my only gripe. All in all, good pizza at a great price. They are busy for a reason. And yes, it's worth it.

Great spot that offers quick service. I tried the cheese, Mediterranean, and pepperoni. The flavors are not for me as I like different toppings BUT I will say the pizza dough, and flavors are good. They have a handful of seats indoors, a couple TVs playing sports and a bar section for drinks. They have a pretty good combo deal - 2 slices of pizza plus a drink for a little over $13.

My wife and I got pizza for the first time from Pizzeria Violetta yesterday evening at Prescott Market. I didn't realize this when I first looked at photos of the menu online, but the pizza menu is actually divided in two: the left side of the menu are the flavors that you can get as slices, while the right side of the menu is whole pie only. Don't be like me and get excited over trying out a slice of Hot Hawaiian you saw on the menu ahead of time, because that's not possible unless you order a whole pie. Between the two of us, we got four slices of pizza: 1 Pepperoni Slice $5.50 1 Sausage and Roasted Garlic Slice $5.50 1 Tomato Basil Pesto Slice $5.50 1 Sweet Little Pig Slice $5.50 Since everything was already sitting in the display case, after placing our order, we had to wait a few minutes for the slices to be re-heated in the oven. In my opinion, a reheated slice will never taste as good as a fresh slice of pizza in my opinion. While the cheese was a bit melted after spending a minute or so in the oven, it quickly hardened and reminded me of cold pizza only a few minutes later. The dough itself I thought was well made: the pizza is stretched really thin and the crust is well-fermented with good aeration. Of these four slices, my favorite was the sausage and roasted garlic slice followed by the basil pesto slice, which had a nice drizzle of aged balsamic on top of it. If I'm looking for good pizza and beer in West Oakland, as well as a nice patio to hang out, Pizzeria Violetta is perfect for that. If you're looking purely for the best pizza in the area, I would recommend June's pizza a few blocks down the street.

Delicious pizza. Very flavorful. Slices are large and the prices are reasonable. My son loves pizza and he gave it his approval. The place is clean and roomy. Customer service is good.

We had dinner at this pizza joint over the weekend, the restaurant attached to the Prescott Market Hall on 18th Street. They were out of several items on the menu in the evening and not very apologetic about it. In fact, service was not the friendliest. But it was sufficient, and wait time was reasonable once we got our order in. We got two sandwiches, the chicken parmesan sub and italian sub sandwich, and both were really tasty. The chicken sub with crispy delicious chicken and the latter with savory italian meats and a nice zesty flavor from the sauce. I didn't even mind that it was a cold sandwich. I ate one half on site and heated the other half of the sandwich at home, and it was just as yummy both ways. We didn't get pizza this time around, but I love that they sell by the slice. And the pizzas in the display case looked appetizing, and well stocked/freshly made, even an hour before closing time. There's plenty of seating available inside this restaurant space, as well as in the market hall's indoor and outdoor seating areas.

The staff was super friendly and decked out in Oakland B's gear. I got 2 of the jalapeño cucumber slushee margaritas, a slice of spring mushroom pizza, a slice of sweet little pig pizza, and honey butter chicken wings for 2 people. The wings were an abundant amount of food. The pizza was finger licking good, and the wings were good for $14 - I ended up saving half for later because I was full of pizza. We sat outside in the market hall Picnic tables. I would love to go to a ballers game and have a pizza party after.

Lovely outdoor dining area at Prescott Market

For Oakland Restaurant Week, Pizzeria Violetta is offering a deal that we simply cannot resist. The deal includes an 18-inch pizza, a full size salad plus 4 chocolate chip cookies for only $35! Holy smokes for 2 people that's dinner and dessert plus enough leftover for lunch the next day! They also serve frozen margarita, frozen pina colada and frozen lemonade...perfect way to cool down during this week's record breaking heat wave. Another reason to try Pizzeria Violetta is the location. It anchors this wonderful neighborhood spot calls Prescott Market at 1620 18th St., Oakland. The space has parking, well maintained outdoor and indoor dining area, a sandbox full of happy little children, plenty of diversity and laughters. While service is limited to indoor dining only with outside being entirely self-serve, the whole place feels safe, clean, comfortable and inviting. We brought our pooch and devoured our pizza among the friendliest strangers.

They brought us the wrong slices and denied it. Pizza was bland. Overpriced. Charged $13 for "$12 special".

The atmosphere of The Lodge is very cozy. There's a fireplace in the middle of the room across from the kitchen and the overhead lights are all a warm, amber yellow. The music on the speakers get pretty loud in some parts of the space so its not the easiest to hold a conversation without raising your voice. Like most dive bars, you place your drink order at the bar and seat yourself. Food offerings vary depending on which establishment has their pop-up setup in the kitchen that evening. Be sure to check out their Instagram page to get the most up to date info on food. During our visit, Saap Saap Culture was serving up delicious fried chicken and egg rolls plates. As for drinks, my wife and I tried out two of their hot toddy's and we really enjoyed them -- absolutely perfect for the cold 40 degree winter weather outside. I also tried out their Modelo Chelada Michelada and ounce-wise, it was a ton of beer. Taste-wise, it was nothing special. The free pop-corn machine in the back was broken during our visit so we didn't have a chance to try it out. Overall, pretty chill dive bar that I wouldn't mind stopping by again. I like that they take card in addition to cash, and the bartender serving us during our visit was friendly. 3.5 rounded up to a 4.

And that is saying something because I never take pictures of bathrooms for reviews lol. The food is just as pretty as the decor. Every plate we ordered came out looking beautiful. The 4 stars is really because although the food looks pretty, I would say everything tastes okay, nothing really stood out particularly in taste. If this review was based on food tastes alone, and not looks, vibes, and the great show, it would've been 3 stars. The flautas were a bit too hard for me. Ive had way better flautas at El Torito's in San Leandro. Although there were only like 6 of us total in the audience for the show, it was still really enjoyable. The host, Tony Parker has great energy, and a lot of the comics (I think were like 5 or 6) had us laughing throughout. No one was safe lol. All in all, a really cute place for date night and comedy show. Apparently they have them Sunday-Thursday nights, and they're free!
