We got the Kurobuta Pork Xiao long Bao, the cucumber salad (My favorite), the string beans with garlic and shrimp and Kurobuta potstickers which were all amazing. Welp, if one craves for XLB, this places has been consistent (for me at least!) We tried black pepper pork chops. The texture was great but it was very salty. Yes, there's pork chop rice bowl but ordering it as a side on it's own is salty. We got their original XLB. It didn't disappoint us. So thin, and delicious. We always eat frozen XLB so having fresh XLB steamed, wah it was def good and if it weren't so full we would've ordered another! Din Tai Fung is one of the most hyped up restaurants online so I've been interested to try it. The green beans were good for sure. Unfortunately, the spicy wontons were not it. Perhaps the location messed up the chili oil that day or it's just always like that but it's terrible. It just tasted like burnt oil - no spice or flavor. The filling itself was also mediocre. The shrimp fried rice saved me from the awful chili oil but the dish was super bland on its own. I liked the cucumber salad a lot. I really wanted to try the rice cake dish but it's not on the menu anymore. Not sure if this was a one off since so many people seem to love it but I'm not encouraged to go again. read more

We decided to grab dinner while we were at the mall, and Din tai fung seemed like a promising option. We figured a random Tuesday might mean less of a crowd, but apparently, we were wrong! There was still a wait, and we ended up being seated at the bar while we waited for a table. Once we were seated, though, things moved quickly. Our drinks arrived almost immediately, and the food was on the table within about 10 minutes of ordering.The food was fantastic, as you'd expect from them . I also ordered a glass of wine, which arrived quickly and paired nicely with the meal. Service was good, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. My friend and I went to Din Tai Fung for an early Sunday brunch right when they opened at 10:30am. This Din Tai Fung is located inside of the Washington Square Mall. I've been to several Din Tai Fungs in Seattle, but this was my first time visiting one in Oregon. Since we were there at opening, we got seated right away. We ordered the KUROBUTA PORK XIAO LONG BAO (10 pieces) ($15.50), the SPINACH WITH GARLIC ($14), and the FRIED RICE WITH SHRIMP ($17.50). The KUROBUTA PORK XIAO LONG BAO were soft, fresh, and each piece had their signature 18 folds - yes it takes months of mastery to fold these for consistency! They were hot, but honestly not as juicy as I remember them to be as they didn't really ooze when I poked them. They were still flavorful though and with their recommended 2 parts vinegar to 1 part soy sauce, chili oil, and piece of ginger, they were delectable. As a spinach lover, I was looking forward to their SPINACH WITH GARLIC as it was not a dish I've tried before - normally I just stick with their green beans. This dish probably used at least four cups of fresh spinach if not more as it was basically just a mountain of spinach on a plate. In fact it was so much spinach, that my friend and I couldn't finish it all. While the spinach was fresh and a nice bright green, this one unfortunately missed the mark for us as it was well under-seasoned and needed to be dipped in vinegar and soy or chili for any taste at all. Needless to say, I will not be ordering this dish again. Lastly, the SHRIMP FRIED RICE was the best dish of the show. I can't say it was anything extraordinary- in fact it was quite simple with garlic, green onion, egg, shrimp, and rice. However, I think they cook the rice in chicken broth which gives the rice extra flavor. The shrimp were plump and juicy. Nguyen, our server, was excellent and very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was clean, modern, and family-friendly. It is a bit on the darker side, but you can still read the menu without any issues. A fun outing! Went here on a weekday, right when they opened at 11am. We did not have reservations, and were the first people seated. The restaurant was almost completely full about 30-45 minutes later, so keep that in mind. The ambiance was a large open space, dark and modern. Service was very friendly and informative. We ordered a full dishes starting with the cucumber salad. This was great, with a refreshing yet spicy profile. Of course we had to get an order of Xiao Long Bao (dumpling filled with broth). and they were fun and yummy. We also tried pork steamed buns and chicken spicy wontons. All was yummy. I don't know how westernized the food is here, but I was satisfied. This place isn't cheap, but a fun treat. The menu has lots more to try for next time. My advice: go early for lunch, or prepare for some waiting. I don't know what it is like for dinner, but I think I'd make reservations just to be sure. read more

Always an amazing trip to Din Tai Fung in the Washington Square Mall. Even if its out of the way I always recommend them the drive is 100% worth it for the comfy booths and good food. Just make sure to make reservations online as they fill up quickly on the weekends. Their food is always perfection. The main go tos for us are the: Green Beans, Chicken XLB, Spicy Wontons, and recently the Pork Buns. Had an amazing first experience at Din Tai Fung! Met our friends here that were visiting out of town for their first time as well. They were visiting from 3 hours away. The food was absolutely incredible. Every single dish we ordered was packed with flavor and tasted fresh and perfectly prepared. You can really tell the quality and care that goes into their cooking. The service was also great. The staff was so nice, patient, and very attentive throughout our visit. It did take a little while for our food to come out, but they were clearly very busy, so it was understandable. Overall, it was totally worth the wait. Delicious food, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back again! Been craving their food since we visited over the weekend! Wish we had a location in Vancouver! read more

Din Tai Fung is one of those restaurants where yes the food is excellent and service is top notch but still feels overpriced to me... this location is conveniently located in the Washington Square, had minimal wait when we went on New Year's (though we sat in the older than 18 section), was very clean with fast service. We ordered the classics: beef noodles, xiao long bao, and spicy wontons. They're comparable to what I've had at the Taipei location. Bonus points for having a wide display window of the work that goes into creating these delicious morsels. Would I go back? Yes. But I'm not drooling in anticipation. read more

I came here just to eat dinner with a friend and we reserved a table for 4 which was a 30-45 minute wait (honestly not bad at all) but then 2 people cancelled which we were scared to talk to them cause you need your full party to be there to get your table but we explained and they were completely understanding and still took us. We ordered: Pork XLB (2), Noodles with Spicy Sauce (2), Pork Chop and the Matcha Jasmine Latte. The total was $71 so not bad-- the matcha which my friend got just needed a bit more sweetener and the other food was delicious, it's a go-to and safe food you can depend on when you want something warm, cozy and nice. The staff were all friendly; checking in on us at times, was quick and very polite and had a great attitude and were whimsy! Food came out also fairly quicker which we liked. This place was delicious! I got the pork chop fried rice which was amazing, the pork chops were insanely good and the fried rice was too! My partner got the braised beef noodle soup which was also super super yummy I ended up stealing a lot of it. We got Xiao Long Bao chicken soup dumplings and they were so yummy we both loved them, the ribs were also super super good. All of the food we got here was so good we were talking about it for days afterwards, 10/10 would recommend this place if you like chinese food! The restaurant is huge and I've been to the mall many times and never realized how big it was in there. The service was great we were left alone for the most part which is something I don't mind. Sharp piece of china in my food !! Din Tai Fung has been one of our family's favorite restaurants, which makes this experience especially extremely disappointing. During our meal this evening, I bit down on a sharp hard fragment that appeared to be a piece of china/ceramic that was in my food. The impact caused immediate pain, and my tooth has remained sensitive since the incident. I took photographs of that piece. My biggest concern was the dismissive way the issue was handled. When I brought it to management's attention, I felt the seriousness of the situation was not fully acknowledged. I was told it was "organic material," and there was no clear discussion of an incident report or next steps regarding a potential injury. The managment's response felt like I am trying to sensationalize the issue leaving me confused and anxious (because it being sharp, I am still worried about it entering my system). Finding a sharp foreign object in food is a significant safety concern, particularly at a restaurant with Din Tai Fung's reputation for quality and service. I will be following up with the restaurant and documenting the incident appropriately and following up other departments of state related to food safety, if need be. This was my family's favorite restaurant but this experience has left a sour taste (literally and figuratively) read more
