Great service! I ordered the Florentine Benedict. It was very good, my only complaint about it was my mushroom tasted like it had lemon on it. My husband's Mexican breakfast plate was overly salted. I have to say that is restaurant is my favorite diner. The food is absolutely outstanding - surprisingly so for a diner type establishment. The restaurant is not overly spacious so some of the booths are a bit tight feeling. They are always busy so sometimes there is a wait. Because they are so busy the service is sometimes a bit slow but the quality of the food is worth the wait. They have a great waitstaff and the occasional slowness is not their fault. I hate leaving bad reviews but I think people need to know what they may be getting when walking into this place. Have been here multiple times, used to love getting the Navajo GF wrap, until Sunday we went, I ordered and began eating my first half of the wrap and noticed it was very gooey. I thought maybe because there was so much avocado that that was why... until half way through I started looking at that chicken and noticed it was RAW. It's been two days and I've had a stomach bug, and had to go to the doctor to make sure I don't have salmonella. DinerTime has a slightly more modern look to it than many diners, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It is spacious and open, and has decent hours. As expected, the entire menu was served all day - which is perfect because you can always satisfy your cravings. The service was great and our coffee cups were never empty, with the server being friendly and attentive. The prices are also great for the portion sizes. The unfortunate thing was that the food was fairly average. I ordered the steak (medium rare) & poached eggs. The steak was sliced very thin, which is fine but it was overcooked and had no seasoning at all. Both poached eggs were also overcooked with no runny yolk. The corned beef hash was basically just the crispy bottom of the corned beef. I'm not sure there was anything else to the dish - well, except salt; lots and lots of salt. Also, there were ceiling tiles missing for some reason and the staff was bringing all the rugs over near our table and vacuuming in that spot the entire time we were there. I would probably give DinerTime another try, but there are a lot of good to great diners around so it's a competitive sector and I hope they make some improvements. read more

I stopped in here while I was back in town, I was curious to try something new. Diner Time used to be Circle Diner and I had not been in it for over 10 years. I don't remember exactly what the old decor was like, but Diner Time has done a nice job sprucing things up. I left Albany about 4 years ago, but my go to was always down the road at the 76 Diner. The wait staff at Diner Time is definitely better than the 76, they have a couple of really awful servers there. So no complaints here on that aspect, everybody was pleasant that I encountered. I'm going with three stars for two reasons based off of a few breakfast trips and one late lunch. 1. The food was average diner food, nothing wowed me. 2. I thought this place was a little on the pricey side. I live in Fort Lauderdale, which has a slightly higher cost of living than Albany and I find restaurants in this category for equal or less $. I don't eat it, but I think it is cool they had gelato here. There were also some yummy looking baked goods. read more

It was okay. I decided to stop in at Diner Time for a late night dinner. The last time I was here several years ago, it was called the Circle Diner. I was seated in a booth within 3 minutes of arriving here and given a menu to review. The Yankees game was on the TV in front of me. I already knew what I wanted and ordered a diner comfort dish, which was the Spaghetti & Meatballs ($12.95 plus tax) served with salad or cup of soup (I chose the Seafood Bisque). The cup of bisque was piping hot which had a creamy tomato broth with celery and imitation seafood in the mix. The Spaghetti & Meatballs was a good sized portion topped with a thick tomato meat sauce with 2 big soft meatballs. However, the dish was lukewarm, the sauce had a weird taste sweet and salty flavor, and the meatballs were pinkish inside. I decided I had enough and asked for a to-go container and the check. I figured that when I reheated the food in the microwave, the meatballs would get cooked through and my food would be hot. The service here was adequate, with the waiter serving my food in timely order and leaving me alone to eat in peace. I want to give a great customer service experience shoutout to Diner Time in Latham. My husband and I ordered from them tonight via Door Dash for delivery. When the food arrived one of the wraps we ordered was not made how we had requested. I called the diner and explained the issue. The girl I spoke to was very nice and she asked if I would like them to remake it. I mentioned since we ordered through DoorDash I was not sure how that would work since we don't live nearby the restaurant, we wouldn't be able to come pick it up. She said she would have to ask so she asked someone who I assume was a cook, the manager, or owner even. His name was Dimitri. I explained to Dimitri what happened and he said he was leaving work for the night and would like to personally deliver the correct wrap to me. I explain to him he didn't have to do that, but he explained since it was their mistake he would really like to correct it. I graciously accepted his generous offer When he arrived (came to the door mask on) my husband tried to give him a tip, yet he refused. He went above and beyond! During these tough times such gestures of kindness and great customer service are greatly appreciated. Especially because you know restaurant owners and workers are going through so much right now. So for them to be so great to you when they have so much on their shoulders says a lot about their business model and more so about them as people. If you're looking for anything from sandwiches, quesadillas, to Greek food, and classic diner food check out Diner Time! The food is consistently good and at fair price point. Real homemade corned beef hash and good quantity. Eggs over medium was what I ordered and got. Running yolk and solid whites which is exactly how I like it. No complaints. I will make this my regular stop. This is a much better experience than my past experience under the previous ownership at this location. Good to know now we have couple solid Diner choices in the area. Will have to try other menu items to form a more definitive opinion. While I'm thinking about delivery experiences, I'll throw this one out there. I'd never heard anything good about this place. In fact, when they first opened, I'd heard some decidedly bad things. But I figured I'd try it. What a pleasant surprise. I got the fish'n'chips, and a milkshake, and rice pudding. Nothing fancy. Great prices, good portions. The fish and chips didn't look like much, but the flavor was completely there, and one of the most important things, so hard to keep during delivery: the texture of both fish and fries was perfect. Hot, crispy, and flavorful. Wow! Who knew? Milkshake was good, but of course, I think I've only ever had a bad one once. And the rice pudding was delicious and again, a perfect texture, and a healthy portion. Been here several times, mostly for breakfast and lunch. Service during the day is fantastic, food is fast and hot. I wouldn't recommend for dinner. Went on a Sunday evening, there were not many people in the diner for the early time (4PM) and yet the service was very slow and the food not very good. Both of us had breakfast for dinner and the potatoes were clearly from the morning breakfast shift. They were dry and burnt. I had a waffle and it was good, freshly made. Only disappointment was some flakes of other foods that clearly got cooked in it. Toast was not toasted well. Daughter had crab cakes eggs Benedict, not my preferred food, but she enjoyed them. The home fries again, same as mine - dry and burnt. Service at dinner was incredibly slow. That was disappointing considering the large presence of staff in the building. Party of 3, ordered the Buffalo egg roll appetizer, was meh.. ordered a blt, hamburger and fries, and a Buffalo chicken wrap. What a pleasant surprise! My wife had an appointment nearby and decided she wanted breakfast afterward. She did a search, we saw a diner, and we headed over. I grew up with traditional diners, they are something that is familiar and easy for me. Rarely does one find a way to stand out from the rest. Diner Time finds a way to capture the feel of a traditional diner while updating the experience. For example, instead of the traditional 10 page menu common for many diners, we had a simply one page breakfast menu. All of the things you would expect for breakfast and a few options to enhance with something extra. I had the Eggs Benedict. It is something I love when it is done right and something that will annoy me if it is not. There were multiple options like something made with hash, crab cakes, and even some California avocado something-or-other. But for me it is the simplicity of the traditional plate that does it for me. It was well made, simply plated, and had generous portions. There was nothing overwhelming about the hollandaise, but again, it was kept simple and traditional and did what it needed to do. My wife had the Corned Beef Hash and eggs. She was very happy with it. And they surprised her with the availability of Gluten Free toast, she often just does without in these situations. Coffee mugs were a good size. Not the tiny cups of watered down nonsense you find at some of the diners in the area, and not the big giant cups at others. A comfortable size with a decent coffee. Our server was great. Attentive and efficient, and did not stand around with idle chit-chat that my wife loves. Location is not one I pass often, but the experience has definitely placed Diner Time in our destination list for a quick diner meal. read more

I always felt the Circle Diner was mediocre at best and not to mention the staff always rushed you if it was towards closing time. No more. From the minute you walk in you can see the how the new owners have completely modernized the establishment. No more being greeted by a cranky lady who doesn't want to be there.
