Why didn't I try Ding Tea earlier? This might be one of my new favorite boba spots now. My friend told me to try it out, since there was a new location in Fountain Valley. I heard that their milk tea was good, so that's what I got. Winter Melon Milk Tea - You can adjust the level of sweetness and ice. For sweetness, I got 100% and for ice, I got 50% for my drink. This might be too sweet for you, so go as you please. I thought this drink was sooo good! I've tried many winter melon milk tea and this has to be on my top 3 list. It's nice how you can adjust the drink to your liking. They have a wide variety of fruit and milk teas on their menu as well. I've been to Ding Tea Bolsa and enjoyed the milk tea I got. This new location was a bit closer to where I was, so I stopped by to grab a drink. I went with the large oolong milk tea with golden boba, easy ice and 70% sugar. I couldn't make the $5 minimum this location had to pay with a credit card, but the cashier was kind enough to let it slide since I didn't know, and it was my first time here. My drink was made in literally a minute, to my surprise. Unfortunately, it wasn't as great as I remembered it to be. Despite getting easy ice, I still had a solid 30% of the cup filled with ice. I'm not sure if it's because there's a lot of ice, or if the tea isn't very concentrated, but my drink was pretty watered down. It made for a relatively refreshing and light experience, but I would've wanted a stronger tea taste and smell. The boba, on the other hand, was "golden". It remained soft and chewy throughout the entire time I had the drink, and tasted of sweet honey. Overall, I've experienced better at the other location, but I'll give this location the benefit of the doubt, considering it wasn't long since they opened and the boba was so good. read more

Stopped by for their soft opening. Super excited for them to open, especially now that they have a closer location in Costa Mesa! I ordered the mango yakult drink with boba. I've seen yakult drinks at other boba stores but have never tried it before. I really liked it, it had a sweet, creamy taste that was kind of like an in between for fruit teas and milk teas. The golden boba, which is actually golden-colored, was really good as well. The texture of it was perfect and even though we were there right before closing time the boba still tasted pretty fresh. Since they were just soft opening, the staff were still figuring out the register and such, but were very nice and friendly to us. The store itself is decently sized, clean, and has a reasonable amount of seating. I have no complaints - I am excited for them to be fully opened. Literally just got back from the store, and I can most definitely say this is probably gonna be my go-to boba shop now :-) wanted a drink before class but also wanted to try something new, and Ding Tea just opened so why not? I got chocolate milk tea with boba and usually other places just don't get it right but this one's really good! Reminds me of ovaltine :-) Also tried the wintermelon milk tea with crystal boba and that was delicious as well! Sweeter than most milk teas but the good thing about Ding Tea is that you can customize the sweetness and ice levels! Crystal boba is very different from regular boba texture-wise so it's a little bit weird at first but it's worth a try! I came to the grand opening of Ding Tea in this location to check them out and since it's located in Costa Mesa, I thought that it would be nice and convenient to come here since it is closer to where I live. To be honest, it was alright. I like Ding Tea, and maybe it was just too much of a rush, but our order was messed up... 3 times. I ordered the Mango Milk Tea with Crystal Boba and my friend ordered the Lychee Milk Tea also with Crystal Boba, and our drinks were okay. My drink tasted WAY too sweet, and to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the crystal boba. It tasted like I was drinking mango syrup and I wasn't too happen with that. Next time, I would probably get a different drink and ask for much less sugar and order regular boba instead of crystal boba. The staff was friendly and tried to fix our order, but they were really confusing. The two drinks we got were priced on the menu to be equal, but when we ordered, the lychee was more expensive than the mango and when we asked why, the cashier didn't really have a good reason. All they said was "well, when you go to the grocery store, lychee is more expensive than mango..." If this were the case, then there should be some sort of asterisk saying "lychee is 30 cents more expensive" so people know what they are actually going to pay. Overall, I would go to Ding Tea, but not at this location. I feel like the Garden Grove location is better in my opinion and I wouldn't mind driving there. read more

The location is okay, though it is not quite as big as the other locations. I can see crowdedness being a potential problem. When I ordered, the cashiers seemed a little confused about what I wanted, especialyl when it came to the white pearls. Also kind of saddened that they don't take the point cards, which is weird. Stopped by because I was in the area with a friend. I saw that they have grand opening on Friday on Facebook so when going today, I knew it was just soft opening. The guy on the register was nice enough to tell me and my friend that the grand opening deal also worked today so we bought our drinks together. I tried the large peach milk tea with golden boba. The taste is a bit weird but I think it's more of a personal preference thing since my friend's lychee milk tea tasted fine. The boba is nice and chewy. I used to come here a lot because their monster boba latte was amazing. I've gone to the one in Anaheim, Buena Park, and in LA. I always felt that the Costa Mesa one had the best monster boba latte out of all of them since they first opened. The past two months since I've been coming back here has been really lack luster though. I thought maybe I'm just coming here on a bad day.. It wasn't. The monster boba latte is not even sweet anymore.. it doesn't even taste like tea. I've even asked to have it sweetened but it didn't taste the same. It straight up tasted like whole milk with boba. I have been going to the Ding Tea in Westminster since it opened and it is my absolute favorite! I usually get a Large Signature Milk Tea with less ice. I love the way they make it there, but it is a little different here and not as sweet! Don't get me wrong, it is still good, but it feels like they haven't gotten the sweetness level down yet. I love this location though! Parking is a lot easier, it is very spacious, open, and clean. The tables are also nice and big. It's a great place to study. This boba shop has been one of the best places around in Costa Mesa. Not only does this place's boba is inexpensive, it's also got some very good quality milk tea. 01/22/19- 5pm-7pm I am a big Ding Tea fan and needed a place to study, and so I came to this location while being in the area. I understand that this is a boba shop, which means that a quiet environment is not guaranteed; however, I was appalled by the lack of professionalism by the staff. The staff were flipping each other off during their shift change, slamming doors constantly when entering and exiting, and someone even brought their child in the back, and I could hear the staff yelling at the child as well as lots of banging and dropping of metal. Furthermore, there was a lot of gossipping amongst the staff. I understand that it is normal to gossip, but do not gossip where customers can hear you loud and clear, and instead take it to somewhere private or at least whisper. One of the female workers was so loud and obnoxious that my friend was able to make the conversation out despite blasting music with earphones in. To be specific about the kind of gossipping that could be heard, one of the oncoming staff members was stating that one of the staff who was leaving "had bad customer service and was really rude..." while ironically giving bad customer service to others herself. Also for the two hours my friend and I were there studying, the staff were being louder than the music and customers combined. Another complaint is that I feel that some of the staff need more training with making the drinks. The girl who made my drink made a mistake and gave me a small drink instead of a large. I notified her of the mistake, and she went to make me another one. However, when I tasted the drink, it was extremely watered down, as if she just poured the drink into a large sized cup and added a ton of milk/cream to fill up the cup (I ordered the Winter Melon Milk Tea). Overall, I was extremely shocked and displeased by the lack of professionalism. Once again, I understand that this is not the ideal study spot; however, professionalism must always be maintained at any job. read more

Drinks are fairly priced but $5 minimum charge for credit cards so they kind of get you there because you're most likely to upgrade to a large drink or add on to meet that minimum charge. Plenty parking, it's located in a strip mall off of harbor. Get the golden boba. It's regular boba, just golden color. It's definitely some of the better boba I've had. read more

Nothing special... I ordered the brown sugar milk tea and it's generic. I can't taste the brown sugar in the syrup, it's not as sweet as I would expect compared to Cha or guppy house, they pre-mixed it so it had zero curb appeal, and the boba is a bit on the mushier side. I think they use non dairy creamer as well.... the taste left on my tongue not pleasant. I despise places that use non dairy creamer in their milk teas. Edit: They do use a non-dairy base.
