    The signature Ding Tea mural

I have been to almost every Ding Tea in Orange and Riverside counties and some in LA. We were down in the area for a few days of vacation, so of course I had to stop by here. This location has the most indoor space of any Ding Tea that I have been to. It is spacious, with several well-spaced tables, and they even have a pool table inside. The murals on the walls looked great. Despite it being 100 degrees outside, it was comfortable and very cool inside. I ordered my usual kumquat lemon green tea 25%/25% with golden and crystal boba. It was consistent and tasted great like at most Ding Teas. It tasted extra good on a very hot day. My girlfriend has a red guava black tea 25%/50% with crystal boba and star fruit which was also great. They have a large list of toppings, more than many other Dings. They also have some food items if you have the munchies. It is nice to know there is a good Ding Tea down here the next time I'm in the area.

The positives: the location is great, tons of parking and inside has games. Great service even close to closing time. The negative: my thai tea wasn't amazing it tasted more like milk than any other flavor. Not sweet, not tea. Just milk. I do like that it's a friendly hang out type of environment. It's super close to my house too, so I was able to get there and back in 10 mins for a sweet treat. I'll try them again but my review is the drinks may need some adjustments!

    Matcha Latte (regular size)

Three of us had a boba craving while heading back to our hotel after a day of hiking at Joshua Tree. This Ding Tea is at a great location in a strip mall near a Ralph's grocery store. While my hometown of Seattle also has a Ding Tea, I've never been and I didn't realize how large their menu is. It took us a few minutes to peruse the options, but the cashier and bobarista were both super patient as we made our decisions. The promotional poster outside the door ultimately swayed me into choosing an iced matcha latte. After all, I wasn't able to have my daily matcha while on vacation, so it was truly calling me! In just a few minutes, our drinks were served. + MATCHA LATTE w/ BOBA ($5.35 regular size + $0.85 for boba): While this drink had more of a milky matcha flavor, I really enjoyed it. Given that the boba was already sweetened, I ordered my tea with 0% sugar and it was just right. Despite me not specifying the ice level, it was also perfectly done. The latte was on the thinner side, on the verge of watery, but I could taste the matcha which was the most important. The boba had a nice bouncy texture, but many of the pearls were for some reason stuck together and it was a challenge to drink them through the straw. They offer two sizes - regular and large. I would consider their "regular" size to actually be small and their "large" to be the standard size at other boba tea shops. Therefore, over $6 for just a small is not a cheap price, but given the touristy area this shop resides in, the cost is not too surprising. When a boba craving calls, sometimes you just have to give in regardless of the circumstances!

The drink was great, and there were so many options, I have to go back to try more! The place itself was also so cute. Great to go with a friend :)

Vietnamese coffee with Boba The worst boba drink I have ever had!

Looks like a fun place to hang out this rating is solely on my experience with the staff and my drink. I love Boba. I drink it all the time. The staff was not helpful or friendly. I simply was trying to ask about the sweetness level what was included in the drink, didn't understand me or didn't care to respond to me. So I ordered it and the coffee is extremely bitter. I believe instead of the sweet cream half-and-half. I wanna say it's just half-and-half cream. To pay nine dollars for a drink that's not even pleasant is horrible.

Location and atmosphere are great. Its a fun place to hang and just chill. So definitely deserves stats there. Service was good too. Friendly and fast service. The boba itself was absolutely horrible. The thai tea is DISGUSTUNG. Doesn't taste anything like thai tea. A super artifical taste that's almost reflects chemical flavoring. Order anything but the Thai Tea please .

Paying almost 9 dollars for this drink to be nasty is just so disappointing. This is the second time I've come here now and it's been the same experience with this drink this exact drink and I've had this drink many times! Unless you guys changed ownership from when you guys used to be in la Quinta then I don't know what's happening because every time it's honestly just ass and I drink boba a lot and every time I've come here the Egg pudding is honestly awful either undercooked or just straight out gross the boba is always old and hard like cmon! I won't be any longer because it's just not worth it at all! It's just really disappointing when I've been coming to ding tea through all your locations moves and by far this locations the drinks every time I come it's just overall just nasty! Especially when each topping add on is like .75 to a dollar a the quality is just not great!

We were looking for some boba to grab for our road trip back home and saw Ding Tea super close to where we had dinner the first night so we were set on it. We arrived as soon as they opened but were surprised that there were two other customers ahead of us! I immediately thought that if someone is coming here first thing in the morning as soon as they open, it has to be good. I've only had this boba chain once before and I remember it being very good. They had golden pearls and the size/chewiness was perfect. I remember walking in to a really bad smell. I'm not sure if it was just sitting water or some kind of sewage problem but it was not pleasant. We ordered and wanted to leave immediately. I had to breathe through my mouth the entire time to avoid the smell! As soon as I got my drink, I was already a bit disappointed. I love to get extra boba, especially for a 2.5 hr drive home since it'll last me a while but as soon as I saw my cup, the boba pearls were so small! Not tiny but smaller than a regular sized boba pearl which was disappointing. The chewiness was ok but they were too small for my liking. We also noticed after we had already left that the label said brown boba or something. Like I mentioned earlier, the other location had gold ones and were regular sized so I wonder if they had that option and just didn't tell us or offer it at the time? It was odd but at least the Vietnamese coffee was still very good! Not sure if I'd come back unless they had regular sized boba. IG: @ammysalamii

They even charged me for food they didn't even deliver. When I expressed I never got the food yet she charged me she tried to get me to pay for someone else's food. I told her that was not my bill. Thankfully tea shops have become more regular here in the otherwise asian treat deprived desert. Chakaa Tea Shoppe is located at "The River" which is a small outdoor shopping spot situated around a manmade 'river'. The location used to be a starbucks and is perfectly set up for a tea shop to take up residence. Now for the honest, the tea is about average, I do appreciate the ample ordering options of non dairy milks. This time I ended up getting a coffee with boba as my treat vs my normal tea order. The staff is always super friendly and helpful if you have any questions. The boba was also VERY good and well made vs some places that provided under cooked or over cooked boba. A coffee with boba and a small tip ran me up almost $10 which is a little expensive for my taste but it IS a treat after all and not an every day buy. Of all the times I've come into this location they always seem to be warm inside and prefer to not run the AC. I tend to sweat a little bit which is a bit of a drag considering that they have tons of seating. I probably wouldn't drive to the river JUST for boba but if I'm in the area shopping in need of a pick me up to go this would be a good stop.
