I really had high hopes for this place as it's much closer to my house rather than my go to bubble tea places in Beaverton. But left rather disappointed. The pros: Their signature milk tea is decent. Boba is good. Not too hard nor sweet. Interior is simple with some seating and from what I saw Jenga to play. The cons: 1. Parking is very limited. They share street parking with flipside and food carts. The access road is a one way so if you can't find parking it's a pain in the butt to turn around. Not the best location. 2. I ordered 2 signature milk teas with one at 75% instead of 100%. The 100% tasted fine. The 75% tasted like they completely forgot to add any sugar. It was like drinking water. 25% shouldn't be the difference between a watery drink and one that's decent. 3. The last star docked is for running out of boba right when I was about to order. Like really? It's grand opening day shouldn't you keep making boba constantly? It wasn't like I came near closing time. Hopefully they get their stuff together. Will try them one more time before I decide to go back to Beaverton for my bubble tea needs. read more

Ding Tea? YUM. Totally coming back. Ding Tea is still new to PDX so there is a bit of a wait. However, the wait isn't terrible. I'm sure, like all new establishments, there will be less of a wait after "grand opening hype." I went with friends and we each got a different flavor so we can try multiple flavors. I got monster boba (in the picture). While it was a bit too sweet for me, it's because I am used to tea flavors like oolong and jasmine. The monster boba is very creamy so if that's what you enjoy then this drink is up your alley! I personally recommend the winter melon and oolong. First visit to Ding Tea! It was a few weeks after the store was open so lines were still long. I think it only took us 15-20 minutes to get to the cashier around 1pm. I got the Taro milk tea with golden boba and it was soooo good. Best taro milk tea i've ever had! My friend got the monster boba and it tasted pretty bland ? Not the best, but not the worst boba spot. Every time i go, i always have to get my drinks 25% sweetness. 100% (which is regular) taste like I'm gonna get diabetes. Even when i ask for 25%, it's still way to sweet. When i come Ding Tea, i always get more than 1 drink. But when i do, they always get the sizes of my drinks mixed up. I do still enjoy every drink i get! I'd definitely recommend any of the yakults. probably the best place for me to get it. It's a small and cute place but the parking sucks! And when it's busy inside, it gets uncomfortable to be in there because it gets so crowded. Overall, I'd still come once in a while but definitely a place i don't crave. read more

If I'm going to splurge myself on sugar, it's going to be boba and I'm not going to waste it on the cheap places. Because I live in Vancouver, WA now, I don't drink as much boba as I used to. It started as at least once per week and now its down to once per month IF I'm lucky. Honestly, I think my thighs and blood thank me for it. I heard there was a new boba spot opening and it was Ding Tea. Before moving to WA, I've always had a thing for Ding Tea. Seeing it here brought back memories, like seeing an old crush. For obvious reasons, Ding Tea was PACKED. I doubt it was because it was grand opening but the high demand and lack of supply in Portland. So expect Ding Tea to be crowded for awhileeeeeeeee. I like Ding Tea because of their selection and the quality in their drinks. They tend to be on the sweeter side so please adjust the sweetness level. I find their boba to also be chewy and soft. Because they're so packed right now, they're kinda sloppy in delivering and presentation. My drinks were still sticky on the sides and I had to wipe it out. Despite it being busy, the staff needs better consistency in their drinks as I've seen them make it all different proportions. Ding Tea lately has been one of my favorite and go to spot to grab a tea. They have fruit teas, milk tea, yakult/yogurt teas and many more options to choose from. So far my favorite teas to order are the monster boba, green tea/lychee/mango yakult, kumquat lemon tea and matcha milk tea. I love that they're consistent and the flavor is on point every time. You can customize your drink by the amount of ice and percentage of sweetness. 50% sweet is perfect for me since the toppings have a sweetness to them already! Did for the gram! This spot came up for me as a yelp suggestions and my brother has been telling me that he's been seeing his friends post their drinks from here on their instagram. It's a cute spot at the foster intersection near the 205 ramp. There's street parking and it's near a bar and food carts. When we arrived at this shop we saw an advertisement for Hokkaido milk tea and that instantly got my attention. I hadn't had any luck finding this flavor until now (they have hokkaido milk tea in boba shops in LA). The inside is cute with a light wooden tropical theme. It's spacious with some opportune pic areas as well adequate amount of seating for a small group. When we came in there continued to be a line of customers. We went here and wasn't very impressed by their offerings. The parking situation is horrible and the area is very busy and a little bit sketchy. The staff could use some more product training as they did not know the difference between the sugar milk and the sugar milk tea. We instead ordered both and essentially threw away the one we didn't want. Also, unlike other typical boba cafes, Ding tea does not have blended drinks. I ordered the strawberry juice with 30% sugar and honestly it tasted like Dole Strawberry Kiwi juice. I will say that the boba had very good texture. The real redeeming quality for Ding Tea is the gal working today was very nice. While she didn't really know what to suggest for a drink (I normally get Honeydew and it's not an option here) she did discuss some options that I might consider. What can I even say about this place?! If you like bubble tea and haven't been, you must go! I think I've tried every bubble tea or close to every bubble tea shop in Portland/Beaverton/Vancouver and this place is my favorite. The boba is always perfectly cooked and fresh. The teas are always fresh. The fruit drinks are amazing. My husband loves the strawberry milk tea with black boba, I also enjoy it. I don't think I have a favorite drink, I switch it up based on my mood and I've never been disappointed. Sometimes I get half black boba and half golden boba in my drink, so many options. The wait is kind of long because they just opened, but so worth it!! Milk tea is only $3.50 + $0.55 for topping. I would recommend getting 50% sugar if it's your first time. I waited about an hour in line and ordered the signature milk tea with boba, Hokkaido milk tea with egg pudding, taro jasmine green latte, and lychee yakult except they gave me jasmine green tea instead of the taro jasmine green latte. I'm not tripping tho I know they were super busy. The signature milk tea was good, not too sweet only because I asked for it to be less sweetened. Tapioca was good, but on the sweeter side than most. 7/10 Hokkaido was sooooo sweet and had that creamy coffee taste. The egg pudding was very good though. 4/10 I didn't get to try the taro jasmine green latte but the jasmine green tea was really good and light. 10/10. Kinda happy they messed my order up lol. This was probably my favorite drink out of the four that I had. Lychee yakult tastes exactly like it sounds lol I really liked this drink cause it was refreshing and I love lychee and yakult. 8/10. My friend ordered the taro milk tea and it was just wayyyyy too sweet for me. 2/10. This place was good, but I wouldn't be willing to wait too long for it again. I really enjoy the drinks here, they're pretty consistent and delicious! (Biba yea is my fav thing in the world). The staff is always super nice and the decor is beautiful. People who complain about the sweetness level just don't realize the fact that you can change the sugar %... LOL and whenever they mess up the drink u get to keep the messed up one and order a new one for free, and they're chill about it which is nice, too! I got the Thai Milk Tea, 50% sugar, 30 % ice, black boba and it was fantastic and fairly cheap. Not only was it creamy but the they also only use non dairy creamer for their milk teas (superb for my lactose intolerant fellows) and they have a great variety of flavors (Yakut, fruit, milk). The shop itself is gorgeous and decently large but a hole in the wall as it's a bit farther from downtown than most boba places. This was my first visit and I was wary of the parking situation but it was easy to find street parking and there is a very small private lot in back of Ding Tea. The place was busy and there was a long line so that was a good sign. I got the signature milk tea and requested black boba but they had run out. I'd never had golden boba and discovered I'm not a fan. It just doesn't have as much flavor as black boba. I was also surprised the signature milk tea wasn't a purely black tea base (it tasted more like an oolong base). It's really nice they have customizable levels of ice and sweetness. I got 30% sweet, 50% ice which was just right. There are so many options I will definitely be back to try more. The prices are very reasonable too. I agree with another reviewer that it's pretty crowded/awkward when there's a line. There's nowhere for the line to go except into the sitting area. It would be nice if they could set up some self-ordering kiosks. There is only 1 register right now and I think letting customers order from iPads would help with the flow. read more

Stopped in for a drink while running errands and had a yummy mango green tea with golden boba. I appreciate the ability to specify your desired level of "sugar" and "ice" (signage encourages you to do you don't feel like a jerk) because my 50% sugar and 50% ice turned out exactly how I've always wanted my boba teas to be! Not too syrupy sweet and the right amount of ice for me so that I get an appropriate volume of tea and when I finish the drink I'm not left with a ton of ice still in my cup. The golden boba was a little more firm than others I've had, but I like it that way. Overall, very happy with my drink and I'll be back for more when I'm in the area! Only one line to order our drinks. . .which probably wasn't the most efficient plan for grand opening day. . Ding Tea does not offer fresh fruit smoothies such as avocado, durian, basic strawberry or mango. The interior decor was simple & pleasant, however, they did not offer much seating for web surfing or studious solo studiers. . They do give you the option of customizing your sugar level and ice preference at the time of order- pretty neat. Also very few parking availability in the back of the establishment. We got the taro milk tea with coconut jelly, 50% sweet & slight ice = $4.60 Aloe Vera with Lychee & coconut jelly, normal sugar, slight ice = $4.05 I recommend the taro milk tea @ 50% sweet. First of all, I'll say: yes I'm quite peculiar about my milk tea, its winter so my go to is a hot milk tea and boba. I enter in to ask about their hot tea options, the worker at the register points me to the options. One worker chimes in to say they don't make hot milk teas. When obviously there are TWO hot milk teas under the hot tea options. So I pick one of those two, and ask for their golden boba, then I'm told they don't add boba to their hot drinks as a pre-caution. I had to explain I normally drink my tea and then have the tea soaked boba, and the worker in return said "okay, thats fine as long as you don't sue us." strange reaction to have, but okay. Go to sit down, and finally open up my tea to see that it's not milk but straight up tea. Had to bring it back to the register & had it remade, and when it was remade, it wasn't made with my specifications of 30% sweet, and tasted like complete sugar. I came here because it was so hot outside for the beginning of May that I thought I deserved an ice cold bubble tea. I came here because I have been searching for a bubble tea place near me that has egg pudding as a topping. I ordered a large Jasmine Green Milk tea half sweet with half ice, and with egg pudding and sea cream on top. This tea was really good!!!! I've been to several bubble tea places in my life and I definitely see myself coming back here again and again since it's so close to me and not too expensive and it's very delicious. 50% sweetness is still a little too sweet for my tastes, if you've got someone with a big sweet tooth in your party they'd surely like this place. My only con is that the parking situation is a little difficult. I had to park in a neighborhood just down the street. Next time, I would take public transit or something to get there. Other than that, the atmosphere is nice, warm, and inviting; and it seemed really popular when I visited.
