By far my favorite Viet coffee in PDX! Parking isn't great and they always seem to be busy, but the wait is short and the service is always warm and friendly.

Wow. What an amazing coffee experience, definitely worth it to do the stay in. Ordered the ottoman iced coffee and the Legend coffee set. Sweetened condensed milk and strong coffee. It was a little chaotic when we were there but it's full of Vietnamese families and very authentic. Clean atmosphere and the staff were so kind and friendly!

What a great morning to start your day with a good egg coffee! We order iced egg coffee and iced pandan lotus seed tea. Both drink tasted so so good! Strong and not too sweet! We will be back!

There is a Trung Nguyen Legend in PDX and it definitely deserves more recognition and attention. This spot is a chain from Vietnam and is bringing over a unique Vietnamese coffee shop experience. To get here, they do have their own parking lot with some parking spots. Inside, they have a spacious and modern setup with a nicely decorated interior. For their menu, they have a solid selection of different coffee and matcha drinks to choose from. Wifey and I got the Tropical Matcha and we really enjoyed the flavors. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming here. We will be back forsure next time we are in the area!

I've been to their San Jose locations before, and this Portland one was just as good if not better. The interior is quite spacious and beautiful. I like how it feels like more of a sit-down spot as they bring the drinks and food out to you. I got the egg coffee and it came in a small bowl of hot water. It was delightful and creamy. I also tried the Crab Royal ($10.95 for 3 pieces). They come with caviar and crab. It was delicious. A great coffee shop whether you're a visitor or local!

This cafe had a wide range of options for coffee, tea, and matcha drinks. The interior is very well decorated and calm, making it a great place to catch with up friends over a drink. The staff explained what each menu item was and there is also ample space for parking next to the shop. I tried their Tropical Matcha and it was very refreshing. The matcha taste was subtle and the mango and coconut milk was a nice touch. I tried a sip of the egg coffee and it had a strong coffee taste and a mild egg taste and wasn't too sweet. I would definitely recommend dining in instead of ordering to go because the presentation of the drinks when you dine-in was super pretty.

Modern interior with wooden finishes, and signage about the history of Vietnamese coffee

The famous Vietnamese coffee chain has come to Portland and is a gathering spot for young and old. With clean modern lines, natural wood details, and nods to traditional Vietnamese design, the cafe is large and airy even on a busy weekend afternoon. I tried the pandan lotus seed tea~ very creamy, sweet, and a little nutty. It comes with a side of water chestnuts and boiled lotus seeds as a snack - the seeds have a similar texture as boiled peanuts but a milder taste. I like more savory things so the tea was a touch too sweet for me even with the sea salt cream to balance. The tuxedo croissant with the melted marshmallow and cacao nibs is filled with custard and dark chocolate. Perfect to split with the table. It's not super crispy but still has that flaky layers and the dark chocolate inside keeps it from being too sweet.

I stopped by Trung Nguyen Legend and tried the Egg Cream & Ginger Coffee. The egg cream coffee was amazing, it tasted just like custard! It was rich, creamy, and so so good. If you have never tried egg coffee before, this is the place to get it. Service was quick and the decor was themed on the origins of coffee. Highly recommend!

I was super excited to try this place and it did not disappoint! The salted coffee is amazing! They had a great bakery selection and the whole ambiance inside is worth it to sit down and experience the whole thing. Also tried the egg coffee and Ube coffee, both great, but the salted was the best! Service was quick.

Trung Nguyen Legend was a highlight of my trip to Portland. I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese coffee, but the experience at Trung Nguyen Legend is unmatched. Coffee is meant to be savored and enjoyed here. It is very much a sit down, hang out, and chat kind of place. We ordered the tiramisu latte and Vietnamese iced coffee with sea salt foam. Both drinks were absolutely delicious. I was not expecting them to be served on a tray, but again, Trung Nguyen Legend is all about the experience. Parking is pretty limited and we lucked out because someone was leaving as we pulled in.

Strong coffee, just as Viet coffee should be. My favorites are the iced egg coffee and iced banana coffee. The banana is flavorful when you sip the top layer or spoon it out like I do. The service is friendly, interior is very aesthetic, and they have sweet and savory pastries. My only qualm is the one way parking lot that gets awkward and cramped when trying to leave. Other than that, big fan of Trung Nguyen!

    L-R: Chocolate croissant, beignette

Having been here twice in one week and both times receiving excellent and fast service, getting delicious coffee & pastries, and finding parking in the challenging parking lot, I know I'll be back sooner than later. My new favorite coffee place! Both times, I've had the Vietnamese Coffee with Sea Salt Cream to drink. It's so good, I don't know that I'll ever be able to try something else... but I'm gonna try! The beignettes are soooo good - two-handed-big, covered in sugar and filled with the sweetest creamiest custard ever, you'll wish you had room in your tummy for two. I also got a chocolate-filled croissant but had to take it home for dinner because I was too full of beignette to eat it. The second time I went, I had the caprese danish - puff pastry with pesto, cherry tomatoes & fresh mozzarella, baked to perfection. The dining room is open and bright with plenty of tables, although depending on the time of day, it can be crowded. The display of the coffee culture of Vietnam was an interesting detail and added to the overall charm of the place. I'll definitely be going back to try something else from their creative and extensive menu.

I've been on a Vietnamese coffee kick lately, so I was ecstatic to try this spot when I was on this side of town. The parking is quite limited but was surprised there weren't many cars there. Came on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all (a few groups were seated and no line). The cafe vibes were great, plenty of seating and I love the light wood theme, it was very tropical meets forest. I asked them which drink is non dairy and they suggested the Banana Coffee since they use oatmilk in it. The service was fairly quick. To be honest, I didn't taste much banana flavor, but the coffee was rich and strong. The sweetness in the drink balanced out the coffee flavor. I would love to come back and try other drinks and hang out and stay for the vibes.

Maaaaaaybe my new favorite coffee shop!…read more I had been to their other location but for some sad reason never made it here. Located on Hawthorne just past the curve at 50th, they've got plenty of free street parking in the nearby blocks. They don't have much external signage but they do have a lot of outdoor streetside seating, so it makes you wonder what everyone else knows. Inside, they've got Coava coffee, efficient staff, and an old-school cafe vibe. With multiple couches (one of my main criteria for a coffee shop) and free wifi, this is a place to work, meet people, and slow down. Great long hours - they're open 6am-6pm.

The intentions were genuine and things have progressed in a way where Albina Press is one of the most recognized coffee brands in the city. It's not too dissimilar from its OG sister location in North Portland (#3), where they still brew high quality caffeinated drinks with the vibes of a homey communal space with chairs, couches, and individual tables for a proper coffee date, WFH worthy WiFi, and plenty of anti-war propaganda in the self-serve water area in the back. The latte art was on point, the cold brew was most definitely strong, cafe au lait was milky and foamy in the best way, and the americano drinks were fabulous. While their hours (#4) aren't particularly suited for after-work hours, they do an excellent job of keeping their space clean and the vibes low key throughout the morning and afternoon. Prices are good for Portland standards. Most drinks are $5 and under, even for the largest sizes. The limited but high quality pastry selection is also appreciated. The service was good overall, just be certain with the order and don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. Lines can happen, albeit rarely, and I would encourage most folks to drink the coffee on the spot. The space is part of the experience (be weary of the restrooms tho), so enjoy the low key ambiance with a drinkable jumpstart to the day.
