Food was good but not worth the price for most dishes. If I'm paying $130 for fettuccine Del Mar it should absolutely knock my socks off and it was just ok. I have an extra star because this place is beautiful! I wish I had a location like this in Covina. The hosts were very pleasant. However it ended there. The service was very slow but I didn't even mind that because I was there to spend time with my friends. Paella- the seafood tasted bland and over cooked and rubbery. The spices on shrimp were not good. The enchiladas poblanos were not good. The crepes were hard and the taste of the meat was bland. If this place got the chef from xecora it would make me go broke. They have a Parmesan wheel!! That's the most important thing to know. If you order the seafood fettuccine they mix the noodles in the parm wheel table side. So good. The ambiance is perfect for a fun night out. The drinks were really good. I had the fridas garden and it was refreshing. It doesn't need the matcha IMO I couldn't taste it anyways. The service was really good and the supervisor came to check that everything was going well. They have a ton of tableside services that we didn't have room to try such as churros and the shot cart that goes around. Music is a ten, they play it a little loud which we were into. We came for my son's birthday, we sat down for party of five, decor was nice .... We ordered ahi tuna tower and corn appetizer, ahi tuna was super super spicy we can't eat it . Keep in mind that the restaurant has only been open for a few months. So I def see some room for improvement for an updated review. I went here for dinner with some coworkers and it was a vibe! Everyone was dressed to impress, the ambiance was amazing, and the decor was impressive. They did have a DJ playing when we got there, which was cool but the volume steadily got louder and louder which made it hard to hear each other talk. Depending on when you get there, there might only be valet parking available. Service was mediocre, or at least whoever we got as our server was just not the best. I felt like it took forever to put our order in and one of my friends order never got put in so we all got our food and she was watching us eat. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks... My drink unfortunately had bugs inside. The server did not apologize or ask if i wanted a different drink. He just took it away as if it was something that occurred constantly. They brought out the old fashion smoked... the server took it back and just took it out of the box and brought the same drink. We also decided to get appetizers and considering the price the portions were not worth it. we got the chips and guac and the queso. The queso is brought in a small skillet that instantly gets stuck in. Lastly, my friend went to the restroom and a worker walked in used the urinal and did not wash his hands. We booked a reservation yesterday for my nieces 19th birthday. The security opened the door for us & we were greeted by the host. We were seated about 10 minutes later. Our server Josue did such an amazing job! Very friendly & went above and beyond to make sure my niece had a great birthday & even sang Happy Birthday to her with us, that was nice of him. Went here for Valentine's Day dinner last night, and it was a MADHOUSE. We had a reservation for 8 pm. Around 6:30 pm I definitely noticed that we were going to be very late. I work at a doctors office so I fully understand communication about being late for appointments/reservations. And I always want to make sure I am considerate of the business and their schedule. Knowing that we were going to be late, I called. No answer. Called again. No answer. I called maybe 5 or 6 times to see if we could still come or if we needed to change our plans before driving an hour to get there. I even submitted a form online to see if someone could get back to me via email instead of phone. (please see photos) We decided to still go and hope that we could still be seated. Upon arrival the lobby and waiting area was packed. People were standing along the wall and outside. I even heard someone say they had been standing there for an hour. After checking in, we were immediately told that our reservation was cancelled because we were an hour late. Thankfully, another woman upfront was listening to my situation about how I attempted to call multiple times and she allowed us to be seated. (Thank you to her!) After being seated, I felt VERY rushed by our waiter. Although I am thankful to get a table, if the business is going to make the decision to seat us and allow us to support the business, then please let us get the full experience and let us take our time to ENJOY ourselves! Every time our server came to our table he asked if we were ready to put food in. We hadn't even gotten the time to look at the menu yet! The staff was running around (because they were clearly overbooked) and servers even bumped into my chair a few times because they were moving so fast. It wasn't a comfortable setting at all. I also noticed how he was giving out roses to all of the women around me, but didn't give me one. Not sure what that was about.... I got so uncomfortable that I didn't really want to eat my food anymore, even though it was delicious. So the food was great, the plates were gorgeous and my drink was also AMAZING. (I got the Watermelon Paleta and Chicken al Pastor) I am a stickler for customer service and communication and it was not good last night. I don't like negative experiences and I hesitate to share them sometimes, but I hope this review reaches the management and it can be improved in the future. I know this is a new restaurant.
