The vibe inside the restaurant is unreal! It was like walking into a completely different world. Our server was so accommodating and knew everything that there was to know about the entire menu. Not only that not a single glass was left empty or stomach for that matter. You are given so much broth and veggies, and the sauces are filled with flavor/umami. The non-alcoholic beverage was also delicious. The dinner was truly a culinary experience.

Came here for date night and we had a great time!! We started with oysters, a savory raw fish, and the pork gyoza and they were so delicious!! We got the Japanese hotpot next and it was ok, I wish the broth was a more flavorful, it was too bland for my liking. Luckily there were a lot of dipping sauces that I ended up putting in to make up for the lack of flavor. I liked the pork belly and scallops for meat but the chicken meatballs were not good, something about the flavor profile was bitter and off putting to me. I got sake to drink and it was delicious!! The server was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu!!

Second time, as good as the first. Service is always stellar. The staff walk you through all of the options and how to make the perfect shabu-shabu. Appetizers are fun and fresh (the oysters were my favorite). We had 2 x D3 and I asked for guidance in a custom build. Scallops and shabu vegetables with a few sauces and beef meatballs. Delicious. Don't be shy, try things when you come and chat with the staff for a Michelin experience.

Made reservations and so glad I did ahead of the birthday celebration of my very good friend (who introduced me to Dipdip! Amongst other foodie places). It got packed! Our server Angie did well. I had D3 and my friend had Tonkotsu. We had Wagyu, yellow fin, Charred bone marrow, beef tongue, shrimp balls, duck fat candle, pork belly scallop! We killed it! Amazing as usual and very professional, attentive, friendly staff! Decorations were minimal but beautiful. Love this place! Standard is still high as ever Oh and Brandon is the sweetest! He remembered me and my son from our first visit. Had a lovely desert to clean our palates and wine for the birthday celebrant. Cheers

Plenty of parking since there is a big lot. Highly recommend reservations since the place is not that big. Service was amazing! I got the ROPPONGI SOUR to drink which was sweet but not too much. Definitely enjoyed it. I got the miso Smokey broth which I really enjoyed and it was not very spicy. The omakase is the way to go since you'll get to try a variety of options if you can't decide what you want.

It pains me to say that while my Baller omakase experience with dipdipdip was great, I would never go back and it was a one and done ordeal with us. Hubs and I had been teetering with whether or not we should've kept our reservations or just ditched, but we are rule followers and showed up excited to try out this next tatsuya venue. We have LOVED kemuri for valentines and our go to ramen and expected we'd be wowed for this as well. Sadly, while the staff were friendly, and sake pairing was well received, I felt like I didn't have that same warmth and service compared to some of the other tables next to us who had much more attentive explanations of dishes or cocktails, it was very go go, for us and we were wrapped up. All of our bites were lovely, the broths we chose were tasty and the keep Austin dipping was a hit to give it that Texas twist, but compared to other hot pot experiences I've had in atx, this just fell flat for the price point - the A5 waygu was stellar, I was looking forward to a certificate as well as I had friends previously go and talk about their experience. The interior and theming along with presentation were absolutely beautiful, I loved the lighting fixtures and wooden fixtures all throughout, but sad to say that while our meal was good, was not an amazing omakase to be had, and wish we'd skipped. Definitely one and done for us as there's other hot pot places we'd choose before coming back here.

I had to try DipDipDip since it's another concept by the Tatsu-ya family of restaurants, and I love both Ramen Tatsu-ya and Kemuri Tatsu-ya. DipDipDip does not disappoint. Just like its sister restaurants, the decor and theme is impeccable. Eating here is such a fun experience. We came for the first time before the menu revamp and returned again recently with the new menu, and we love the new menu that added options to have a nabeyaki (all-in-one bowl) option in addition to the shabu shabu (dipping meats in hot broth) option! The A5 wagyu with truffle sukiyaki dip is just out of this world, and the way the meatballs are served is fun! The appetizers are also delicious. We had the oyster and the pork sui gyoza (dumplings). If we didn't also want main courses, I would've ordered more of both for sure. They've also got a lovely sake selection. Definitely hit DipDipDip up for a special occasion or a date night out.

This place deserves well more than five stars. I brought my dad in about a month ago when he was visiting from out of state; mind you, my father is a very blue collar man. He rarely, if ever, goes to nicer restaurants and is the type to complain about the prices everywhere he goes. Well in short, I have rarely seen so much joy in this man's face, he loved every step of the experience. Going to DipDipDip with him will be a memory I will forever cherish. We came in to celebrate my sober anniversary and were greeted at the front desk with a card for me, signed by seemingly the whole staff. It was a kind touch. We were seated and the host was more than accommodating, seeing as I'm in a wheelchair, they made sure to put us somewhere easy to access and comfortable. The waiter, who I feel terrible for forgetting his name because he was an absolute gem and deserves all the praise in the world (white gentleman, probably early to mid 30s?), asked if we wanted to order any, "mocktails". He had obviously taken note that we don't drink. Made me feel so welcomed as he was obviously paying attention. Looking around, I have no other way to describe the ambiance other than having the same level of detail as Disneyland. From the moment we walked up to the front desk, we were immersed in the creative environment that was so intentionally created. And now the food. My god. Forgive me, I can't remember exactly what we got, I know we started with the oysters, amazing, and our main course experience included the beef meatballs and I believe all beef plate, which we cooked in the pot. Watching my dad light up with every bite quite literally still brings tears to my eyes upon thinking about it. The food was incredible. The only words we could utter back and forth were variations of, "dude this is amazing" and "oh my god". There was only one option for dessert, usually a good sign, and it was so unique and truly outstanding. To top it off, my typically frugal father didn't even bat an eyelash at the bill when he insisted on paying. He mentioned it being actually significantly cheaper than he expected and well worth it. Mind you, this man still complains about spending $10 for a decent cheeseburger. All in all, my father and I couldn't stop talking about our experience to anyone that would listen, for at least a few days. Even now, I jump at the chance to rave about DipDipDip to any and all. Bravo to every staff member and founder. Y'all have created something special. Literally the day after going with my dad, I happened to see the restaurant received a Michelin recognition. Congratulations, all. Well deserved. I hope to be back soon to show off the restaurant to as many people as I can.

We went there for the Valentine's Day omakase experience. The food is good but honestly don't think I'll ever spend that much for this experience. I had better omakase experience that costs less. Tsuke Edomae is cheaper and much intimate experience. Also the seating arrangement is too crowded for my taste. We're almost like elbow to elbow with the next tables. Not to mention our clothes and hair is soaked with the smell of cooking food table side all night. If you want to try an unique dining experience definitely give this place a try. But for the amount of money you're going to drop, there are a ton of nicer places with better food IMO.

An upscale, intimate take on your typical hot pot experience! Made a reservation for two about a week in advance to ensure availability. Our server did a great job of breaking down both the food and drink menu on top of making some great recommendations. I ordered the D3 from the shabu-shabu portion of the menu plus the duck two ways add on, and would definitely recommend this if you want to get the whole Japanese hot pot experience. I enjoyed the assortment of perfectly cuts of pork, beef, and shrimp meatballs that I was able to pair with the different dips offered. The smoked duck breast was definitely a must try for both presentation and flavor. The dimly lit interior made for the experience all the more intimate and enjoyable. Overall, I loved trying this place out and it exceeded all expectations I had! I will say that the portion sizes are pretty small and the prices are a little high, so keep that in mind. I can see myself coming back here for a special occasion or date night in the future!

My first time trying hot pot and I was so excited! The service is amazing and the waiters just top notch. But to me, the food is just... not very good. The tonkatsu broth just tasted like water... so all evening I felt like I was just dipping raw vegetables and meat in some hot water. The dips were very good, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the food is super tasteless given there is no marinade and the broth has no flavor. We did a la carte and bought a bunch of ingredients to try so we gave it an honest shot. We also ordered this one meat dish (eye round?) that was all fat... no meat. Sad I love the Tatsuya restaurants but this one is at the bottom for me.

Do they have vegan gluten free options? Both vegan and GF, not one or the other?

    No, one guest is fine.

    Can you walk in?

Walk ins are a thing. you don't have to have a reservation.

Is it better to order a la carte or Omakase?

If it is your first time, I prefer to order the Omakase! It gives you a good chance to try a variety of things and then the next time you go, you'll know what you like or what you want to try and you can order a la carte.

    Are reservations required?

    Yes reservations are required.

    Is this place kid friendly?

Depends on how old your kid is and whether he/she would enjoy the meal. Everyone gets a hot bowl of soup base to cook food in and if your kid isn't old enough for that type of meals, there's isn't other food made for kids!

    Is it kid friendly?

No. You are cooking food in a hot pot that's 210 degrees. The seating is very tight as well. I wouldn't recommend it for young kids.

    Are there vegetarian options?

Yes we do have vegetarian options.

    Any gluten free options?

Yes, all the broths are GF except for the miso spicy. The dips that come with the broth can be made GF. You'll need to order from the a la carte menu, though. The waiters are really helpful with choosing GF options.

Narrow Street 512 serves up Authentic Korean food with a personal touch. It feels like you're eating a home cooked meal at your Aunt's home in Korea. I experienced Narrow Street as a solo diner. My go-to dish I order 90 percent of the time I go there is the Chadol Plate (A3). It is beef brisket. You normally need to go to a KBBQ spot and get covered in a layer of smoke. Skip smelling like a campfire and get A4 at Narrow Street. The beef brisket comes with rice served in a metal bowl. You get 3 or four small plastic containers of banchan the rotates seasonally. There is a variety of different kimchi, fish cake, corn slaw, potato salad and more. Once in a while I like to switch it up and I order the Cold Noodles (F1) or squid and pork stir fry (A4). The cold noodles are refreshing with crisp cucumber, white radish kimchi, and korean pear. The noodles are bouncy with a nice chew. Great in Summer and Winter. The Squid and pork stir fry comes with a bowl of rice and it is quite spicy. It is spicier than average but still less spicy than Thai chili. The chewy squid and pork are nicely complemented with the crunchy stir fried cabbage. Once you taste it you can't stop eating it. The price at Narrow Street very reasonable for what you get in my opinion. It is sit down restaurant quality food in a fast casual setting. When you arrive, everybody is so nice you give them your name and they get you seated right away. I ordered a drink called a signature tingling Daisy and it was so good. I definitely could've had so many but I was driving so you gotta pace yourself. We started off with the soup dumplings, which are just phenomenal. It's a must when you go. Also, for appetizers, we got the spicy cucumbers which were divine and a hot and sour soup, which was perfectly balanced and not watery. We also got a beef fried rice and let me tell you that rice is so soft and delicious. You literally dream about it the next day. I also got the pecking duck which is delicious there the skin is nice and crispy and the meat on it taste so good. We also got the Kung pow shrimp with cashews, which was delicious and the pieces of shrimp were gigantic. We also got the green beans which is were delicious. I love ordering green beans when they're cooked just like the ones I posted in the photo. Then for dessert, we got the chocolate mousse which is that little dog cake. I know it's so cute and they made it a little hard to eat because you feel bad in a weird sense. It was delicious now I will say when cutting it and realizing the inside had a raspberry filling, made it a little more crazy cause it looked like blood, but it was still so good. This place is definitely an awesome staple and a must visit when you're in town or just always go and have food there whether it's date night or friends catching up or anything in general even on your own.

This could have been my mistake but I don't remember any choice in the matter. The greeter wasn't very friendly and borderline surly when I asked for more details about how to not book the bar in the future. Didn't get any explanation but fortunately, we won't have to worry about that... The food was just awful. We ordered 3-4 types of dimsum (onion pancake, soup dumplings, chu shou, fried shu mae) and three entries (orange beef, eggplant and their take on ma pao tofu) for the best tasting experience. The curry sauce for the onion pancake was probably the most flavorful dish of the night sadly. The onion pancake was way way over fried-- hard as a rock. If that's their take on onion pancake... well, it's just wrong. The soup dumplings were passable but a bit doughie and the filling was full of a lot of noticeable coagulated fat -- not clear and broth-y, with light surface droplets of oil as all delicious broths. My wife enjoyed the chu shou -- I found the filling much too overcooked and tough -- difficult to eat with chop sticks. Like a tough, overcooked meatball. The fried shu Mae were just plain inedible. My wife and I each ate one and left the rest. The included sauce was basic and too heavy. And again, over fried. There was a huge delay between our apps and our mains, like 40 minutes or so. Various bar staff apologized. It wasn't a big deal, we were in a good conversation and they were super busy but our mains were not at all worth waiting for. Small portions. WAY over sauced. WAY too salty. WAY too sweet. No distinct flavors at all. The ma pao didn't seem to have any Szechuan pepper at all. How do you miss that ? The plating of the eggplant dish was really creative but I don't eat with my eyes and it came with no instruction -- my first bite was just flavorless steamed eggplant cube -- second was mixed with one note sauce. One of the better mains IMO but it was still gloopy and pretty gross. Wife did not enjoy it. The orange beef was essentially just six or seven cubes of tough, fatty beef covered in over-the-top bitter orange peel. We each had a cube and left the rest. Honestly, give me Panda Express any day over this abject failure of a restaurant. Austin needs more Chinese but if it's anything like this place, forget it. I'd rather spend a 4h round trip to Houston and go to even a mediocre Chinese restaurant than endure another meal at this place. What a waste of $165. Edit: I wish I was making this up but I literally had to pull over to throw up on the side of the road on the way home. The food did not sit well with me. I have no underlying health conditions, am not on any medicine that would have this as a side effect and only shared one beer with my wife. It was just a very, very, disappointing and gross meal.

The seafood selection on a Wednesday night seemed very small and there were fewer things laid out compared to what I saw on other people's pictures. The veg selection is not as comprehensive as some of the otjer places. The meats were very tasty, even just restricted to the classic menu instead of the premium menu. Note that there is a $2 broth fee for every person up to four per table so instead of $28.99 for dinner it's more like $30.99. That feels like a slight gimmick to make the price feel cheaper.

Came here during a weekday dinner and was surprised how empty it was. The restaurant was HUGE and it was just us and 1 other party. The service was actually really good. Our server was super friendly and prompt with her service. I think they only had 2 staff members since it was so quiet, but everyone seemed to do their job professionally and smoothly. The broth (spicy and original) were both decent but not super flavorful. We preferred the spicy. The self service food bar had decent options, with veggies, noodles, seafood, and cooked food options. Also enjoyed the unlimited drinks and ice cream. The biggest issue is the quality and cuts of their meat, especially the premium cuts which we paid extra for. All the premium cuts we had like wagyu chuck eye roll, prime angus beef, and the ribeye were supposed to be high quality but they were all super lean, no marbling, and low quality. The actual meats were nothing like the descriptions. They also all pretty much looked and tasted the same. We asked them what each were when they arrived to make sure there wasn't a mix up. All 3 were significantly worse than the original beef short plate included in the standard menu. Since the meat is the main focus for hotpot, it was a disappointing meal.

Let's get the good out of the way - the food was what we expected. No complaints there. If you've been to The Melting Pot, you'll know what to expect and I didn't notice any difference in quality there. The restaurant looks just like the others inside. We were seated relatively quickly after arriving. Now, the really not good. Our waitress was the worst server we have ever experienced and I'm not exaggerating. In our probably hour or more there, I think we saw her for a total of 5 minutes? Including while she was at the table preparing the food. She disappeared constantly and would be gone for 10 or more minutes without checking in. I asked her for a water refill, waited so long for her to return that I decided to flag down a different waiter, got a refill from him, and then DRANK THAT WHOLE GLASS before she ever came back. Still wiithout a refill for me. When our salads came, she had no dressing for mine. She left to go get it and didn't come back until the others had fully finished their salads. I ordered a strawberry lemonade when we first sat down. It never came and so we asked about it at dessert to make sure it wouldn't be on the check, and before we could finish asking, she said 'OH!' and left, and then came back 5 min later with it. It wasn't exactly what I wanted to drink with my chocolate. She never asked if we were celebrating anything even though there were two birthday tables next to us whose wait staff made HUGE deals about their birthdays, AND it was on the reservation notes. Here's the thing. She never apologized for any of the wait times, or disappearing, or forgetting things. Even after all of the mishaps, my review would have been a 4 star if she'd ever once acknowledged how comically bad it was all going. This experience was so bad that I had to share it. Usually I gloss over less than stellar service, but this deserved to be immortalized.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and such positive energy. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and chill vibe made us feel right at home. Every dish we ordered was outstanding and packed with flavor. The seafood pancake was cooked to crispy perfection, something that's surprisingly hard to find, as it's often left a bit doughy at other restaurants. The steamed egg was light, fluffy, and comforting, while the spicy tofu pork soup was phenomenal. It had just the right amount of heat, with silky, melt-in-your-mouth tofu and incredibly tender pork belly that paired perfectly with a bowl of rice. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. At one point I accidentally dropped my chopsticks, and before I could even ask for another pair, one of the servers noticed from across the restaurant and immediately brought me a new set. It's those small, thoughtful touches that really set a restaurant apart. SOHA exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Korean food with genuinely exceptional hospitality, this is the place. It has officially become a must-visit every time I'm in Austin.
