I had a service done here, an alignment. I had an issue with a local transmission shop doing the alignment by hand: it was off by about 5 degrees, so the steering wheel was a little misaligned. I had them try to fix it, and they did nothing again the second time around, so on the third go around, they told me to go to Dipman, and they'd cover the cost. It was good too, because the charge for a simple alignment was $136! It used to be a lot cheaper than that. I believe the last time I had an alignment done, it was around 80 to 100 bucks. Anyway, these guys at Dipman are very organized - which is key when considering hiring someone to work on anything you care about. It's a clean, professional shop. They took the job, and worked for about 30 minutes, roughly, then gave me back the car - and would you think it, nothing had been done about the steering wheel alignment! Again, I had to return, and literally all I asked anyone to do was straighten the steering wheel out like it was before I had my clutch replaced. The man at Dipman apologized, and said the steering wheel must have moved while they were straightening the points on the wheels. Yeah, I said. Moved right back to the place it was at before I got here almost an hour ago, while I stood in your parking lot in the hot sun. So they took it back, another 30 minutes passed, and they got it done. It's exactly balanced and square now. All things considered, I appreciate the cleanliness and accuracy of this place. Old school craftsmanship - almost. The one thing that separates the difference between the men of the before 'fore time and now is that, those men cared so much about their craft, they took that extra 5 minutes at the end to revel in their work, test it, stare at it, and make sure it was exactly perfect and correct. Either the world is moving too fast to care, or the craftsmen and women of this time period just don't care enough at all, but at least they made it right. They'd better, for $136.... I'd return to this place for work. They do it right. read more

Or are just flat out crooks! After 4 weeks with my 1969 ct 10 with them they changed spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, push rod, valve springs, rocker arm. Now normally I would appreciate their efforts to keep trying to figure it out and offer to pay part of the bill because it is still doing the same thing backfiring and has a mis. But Dipman Auto aka Dipshit Auto took the approach of even though all these parts fixed nothing They charged me $2100 they knowingly gave me the truck back saying it's not running and still are changing me $2100 and said if I didn't pay it in full they were keeping the truck today because they knew I had a buyer of the truck driving to kc to buy it as is! Took my car in for new tires, an oil change, and an alignment. The guy working on my car obviously didn't know what he was doing. When I left my check engine light and change oil light were on. (NEVER lit up the entire time I owned the car.) My alignment had to be re-done, and they had to turn off the change oil light, like the previous guy was "supposed" to do. I won't be going back. (I think the guy working on my car was a glorified "oil changer") Also, my alignment is still jacked up, and the "inspection" they did apparently didn't cover ANY fluid levels. Check engine light is still on as well. read more

DIpman always does a good job and looks after our small plumbing shops fleet of 4 vehicles! HA, not much of a fleet in reality! They do seem to care and if there is an issue, they do their best to get it fixed as soon as possible. Where do i start? This auto shop is great. I go here for my oil changes, and for any problems or repairs my car needs. They are always on top of things. When i am getting a repair, they always call me and keep me up to date with the situation and help me make the best choice for the repair. Sure, the oil change here is a little more expensive than some other places, but i dont even care. Their customer service is so outstanding, it makes me want to come back. Even the guy who answers the phone is so friendly. I trust them with my car 100%! They also help me to save money. When there is a problem, they offer me options and recommend the rout that will save me the most money while still fixing the problem the right way. They have also replaced brake lights for me without charge. They are so nice and i know my car is always in good hands. read more

I had my car towed to this place because it was the closest repair shop. They quoted me an (as I later found out by calling other shops) ridiculously high price for the repairs they stated my car needed. (I didn't know this was the same shop from the corner of Santa Fe and Parker, I never would have bothered going there.) I told them I was towing my car to a cheaper repair shop, they told me they had changed out a fuse in my car and charged me $4 and some change for it. Later that winter I turned on my heater- and nothing! Didn't work, nor my air conditioning. I finally checked the fuses this past weekend and they had 'changed' (I guess me being a woman they didn't realize that I had replaced all my fuses myself a few months before) the HVAC fuse that should have been a 25 to a 10. As soon as I replaced that fuse my heater and air snapped back on. (My air and heater DID work before I took it into this shop). A mistake? Possibly. But the way I was treated when they were at Santa Fe and Parker tell me- No. They seem to do bad business to certain kinds of people and other kinds- "get the best service ever". read more

Would choose the "Never Go Here" option if there was one. My truck over heated and I had my 2 little girls with me, so I had to pull into Dipman. They supposedly fixed the problem, but when I got home, the hoses blew and Antifreeze went everywhere. I had my truck toed to the closest Good Year in North Kansas City and they said there had been No Pressure test done, or the hoses would have failed then. They said a pressure test is standard and that's the first thing they would have done, if I had pulled into their shop with an overheated truck. So I call Dipman and tell them, I'll pay for the hoses, but since you failed to do a pressure test, I'm asking that you pay for the labor. They said they were not paying anything. It's been a week later now and my air conditioning controls went out. That is something else they supposedly fixed and it failed. They again, said they are not paying for it. I paid Dipman over $600 and the other Good Year place over $250 to replace the hoses. I don't have the time or money to spend on dealing with Dipman Good Year Auto Service in the future. Horrible Service! And NO Supporting their very poor job of fixing my problem. read more
